A few notes about the video! I used to play the intro with a different fingering but after looking at some live videos, it seems like Hetfield plays it that way. Pretty cool. Because they want the Minor 3rd to ring out on the A note then giving a Minor 7th tone. The Wah E Minor fill at the start of the tune. I have seen tabbed out different ways. I checked out Metallica Live on Howard Stern. Hammett is playing it in the position that I tabbed out. Many tabs have the verse accent from the G5 to F#5 as a slide. But it doesn't sound like they are sliding that part at all. I have tabbed out 3 different ways of playing the chorus. The first one, where Hetfield lets the low E5 ring out, the second one where Hammett holds an F# with vibrato, and the 3rd one jumping backing into the F#5 power chord. I have seen all 3 of these approaches. The little fills in the chorus I have seen tabbed out in lower positions. I checked out live videos. Hammett plays them in the positions I have tabbed out. The solo has been tabbed out many different ways in tab books and all that. My ears tell me he's using pull offs on the high E string up high on the fretboard with some of those runs. Oh yeah, and I think he dives a little bit further down in Measure 100 with his whammy bar. But I really liked the take so I decided not to change it. I've added Wah points. + means down. o means up. I tried to get my Wah as close to Hammett's as possible. Probably the hardest thing to do in the song. I tabbed out the little outro fills. It was really low in the mix so my ears picked out what they could. Hope you enjoy the video :)
Yes, man! No B.S. No stalling. No life stories. No failed humor. No foaming of the mouth with philosophical life lessons. Just straight up material. Right to the point. Very well done, mate!
Sometimes I hate comments like this. Almost like it's trying to call other tutorial channels who don't cut to the chase inferior. I get that's maybe not your intention but man.
I never learned this song, but it's been stuck in my head for days and I don't know why. Playing this has given me a new appreciation for it, and although I can only do the solo about 80 percent right now, I found an even deeper appreciate for that part. What a great solo!
Was only a teen when this come out. And that tune always stuck out in my mind. Now I'm 46, March 5th this year and to see it played in tab reminds me why this song still rocks. Metal. Sending horns by way of New Zealand 🇳🇿
Man, you have to make a From whom the bells tolls lesson, this video is perfect, and it was the only video that I could play the solo right, keep the awesome work man!!!
Excellent job! When they sing "we're off to never never land" you hit G twice in the end, which is exactly what can be heard on the record. Most of the people play G F# there, same as in the main riff tail. I think even Metallica has forgotten it was recorded the way you did it :)
This is what I’m going for after learning guitar for 6 months. I feel like I actually learn when I try things that I find hard. Been practicing the master of puppets tab aswell and now I see all you need is the true love and passion ❤
I learned it when I was 14 and it’s one of those solos... like, you hear when you are just developing technique and you want to move it on to the next level and think to yourself “yeah, I can probably play that now!”
@@co-kid748 I’m 15 and started playing this year since I got a guitar for Christmas, enter sandman was the first proper song I learned fully since it’s pretty basic. Just keep at it cus I mean I can almost play the nothing else matters solo pretty well and I’ve just been kind of messing around the time I’ve been learning just trying new things everyday on the guiatr
Lyrics: Say your prayers, little one Don't forget, my son To include everyone Tuck you in, warm within Keep you free from sin 'Til the sandman, he comes Sleep with one eye open Gripping your pillow tight Exit light Enter night Take my hand We're off to never-never land Somethings wrong, shut the light Heavy thoughts tonight And they aren't of Snow White Dreams of war, dreams of liars Dreams of dragon's fire And of things that will bite, yeah Sleep with one eye open Gripping your pillow tight Exit light Enter night Take my hand We're off to never-never land Now I lay me down to sleep Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep I pray the Lord my soul to keep If I die before I wake If I die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take I pray the Lord my soul to take Hush, little baby, don't say a word And never mind that noise you heard It's just the beasts under your bed In your closet, in your head Exit light Enter night Grain of sand Exit light Enter night Take my hand We're off to never-never land, yeah Uh Yeah, yeah Yo, oh We're off to never-never land Take my hand We're off to never-never land Take my hand We're off to never-never land
Another great tab! I've been playing it in a similar way, just the fills were played differently as tabbed by some books I bought 10+ years ago. Metallica-All Nightmare Long as a future tab video? That would be awesome! I can play the song, I would just like to play it the correct way as you demonstrated in this video!
Someone to play along with a very well done tab a def sub from me this is gonna deff help out my guitar journey thanks and I'm glad I stumbled across your channel
I’m starting to get into learning guitar, and right now I feel like my brain can’t keep up even when watching someone else play the guitar, seeing their hands strumming up and down the fret board! 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
Try rocksmith 2014 (!) on pc ... helps alot... thing is... i have seen now about 20 tutorials , 4 diffrent mappings on rocksmith and about 10 diffrent tabs for that solo.... it f* my brain lol
Any chance you could do cant you hear me knocking stones or boys are back in town thin lizzy no tabs for either also another banging cover of sandman fair play
most people believe it to be a g note on the 5th fret of the D string but actually it’s the open G string, which makes it sound better as it rings out and also is easier to play.. just a suggestion ;)
I believe that the G note of the riff is played by G open string, not at the 5 fret of the D string. Thats why It keeps sounding while the other notes are repeating.
Hello Guitar Tab Covers, Could you play, Sultans of Swing from Dire straits. Because you are the best in playing guitar and the most trust full. If you can make Sultans of swing it would be very cool. Than can I play that song for my band. Greetings Milan
