They're not technically the best musicians (Rob is) they are the best at putting their style of music together. Writing and playing your pwn music is much more difficult than being technically great and playing music written by others.

I bpught Kill'em All at Record Factory in 83 because of the front cover and the band had long hair on the back cover. Now im laying on the floor at my moms house at christmas time watching this video 40 years later. Yeah mom, it's just a faze, lol.

My next door neighbor turned me on to this album back in 84. We lived in Japan at the time. Took a little longer to get stateside stuff back then. It was the fastest, craziest shit I'd heard and was hooked from then on.🤘🤘

Saw them play this album in its entirety back in 1982, it was all they had at the time, kirks 2nd gig with the band, i knew i was seeing something special and knew they were gonna conquer the world, had a beer with lars and kirk afterwards and told them so, i was right

Kirk sucks.... listen to a real guitarist, Steve Vai, Steve Morse, Steven lynch, Joe satriani who was Kirk's teacher in the 80s. He is so overrated that any 3rd year guitar student can play that stuff. Especially hiding your poor technique under a wah on every tune. But we all have opinions.

Don't come at me, I love Metallica, but I can see why Mustaine remained bitter for so long. Metallica's popularity was built on the back of this album, and Dave wrote nearly half the album. And the bitterness stayed because they erased his contribution, as if he never wrote those riffs/songs. I remember seeing an interview with Lars and James around the MOP era, and they even went as far as saying before Cliff, they never had a member contribute to writing. I understand that they did eventually give him writing credit and invited him to their anniversary show acknowledging him. So, I'm not trying to bring up old drama. I love both bands, and glad Dave was kicked out. Kirk is the right player for Metallica. All I'm saying is I understand why Mustaine held onto that pain for so long. Had they never used those songs or simply gave him credit, it would have went a long way. But, James and Lars were angry teenagers back then, and also wanted to stick it to Dave. And I don't think they actually thought Dave would make something of himself after getting kicked out.

Apart from already using Eb (E flat) tuning they also transposed Jump in the Fire down a half-step, so it sounds a whole step down compared to the original recording on Kill 'Em All. I'm guessing this was done to make it easier for James with the high vocals?

Definitely. When Led Zeppelin briefly reunited, they were taking songs down a whole step. James is doing great on vocals, but he definitely doesn't have a high range like he did when he was like...20.
