I miss the old days when Metallica did not care what anyone think about how they looked & what their music sounded like because to me Metallica was still sucessful and moving foward at that time.
I share the same opinion. I like their attitude to just be themselves and not care what other people think. Lars is extremely confident, I think he is the reason why the band shifted their sound. I like his personality. Definitely the most complex and deepest band member.
18:41 Lars -“can I speak now?” Kirk - “you can speak.” Yeah that’s all you do is talk Lars.🙄Jesus, like give my man Kirk a Chance 😂 truly he is so patient because if it was me I would’ve taped his mouth shut ☠️

Obviously Metalicas experimental phase the utis video...lars in a blue feather boa, jason looks like hes covered in chocolate spread to the waist. The writhing gold snake creature, James is like get me outta here!!
i started listening to Metallica when the Black Album came out they almost LOST me again on LOAD i hate that album i can only listen to Until It Sleeps and due to my mom R.I.P she liked Mama Said now i dont listen to that song anymore.....the album RELOAD was good
@@oasis808 there's a video on RU-vid, just look up "Kirk Hammett bi". But I read an article a while back about him saying he used to swing with his wife and sometimes they were men.
They played that Corrosion of Conformity song, and I've said before that Load/Reload were not too far off from what CoC was doing, except Metallica was doing it with extra money. If Metallica would've just done the same songs in t-shirt and jeans without the leather hot-pants, mascara and high fashion bullshit then it would've been way easier to accept the new musical direction. I love the records, I think the songs groove, they're well-produced and most of em sound good overall... but their real-world attitude and style during this time was fucking stupid. You can tell there's a part of it that's genuine, but there's also a part of it that's fake AF. It's just too much, too soon and and way too on the nose for everything else that was going on at the time.
I'm just a fringe metallica fan so my opinion shouldn't mean much but man I can't remember seeing a band try so hard to conform and be current with the times as metallica in this era! It all just feels so unnatural and forced! That music video looks like every alternative video from 1991. Just my opinion.
the image thing was the result of kirk and lars (or so james says) as far as the concept for that video i have no idea. personally i think the music had some cool moments, there definitely is some neat stuff on load & reload. I know everyone likes to shit on that period but ive always dug 2x4, outlaw torn, fixxxer, bleeding me, house that jack built
