it's crazy to be able to play this music for 2+ hours live. it's even crazier to have that stamina at their age. to play it in the rain... fucking impressive

I dont understand why they dint have if it rains a small area that they can play and cover their shelves and their guitars... anyway.... this is amazing for fans. Who does that after all these years of success?

Not quitting or waiting for the rain to stop, but playing out in the rain with their fans who came to see them perform. Love the band, the music, and the guys who bring IT every time!
Idk if you’ve ever played guitar before, but using a pick in the rain sounds like no easy feat. Plus it’s probably ruining their instruments and there’s a bunch of electrical wires everywhere most likely, it’s very much a mentality of show must go on, most artists probably would have cancelled
Best live band ever, Sydney big day out years ago thunder storm change their set so they could play Ride the lightning first song.. lightning was cracking everywhere!
Now those are true fans going to a concert they love and James Hatfield is doesn't care as long as he gets to jam that is awesome And playing Ride the lightning
Seen them many times over the years including2018 in Milwaukee I said idc if they play MOP, I've seen it. Play some shit I've never seen. I was 2nd row right in front of James. When they played MOP, James and Kirk did the double solo right in front of me. It's as if they'd heard me and decided to make me hold their beer. Never gonna forget that moment. BEST EVER
The 100 000 fans is doing the same. They are the same as the fans. People just think more of them because of their talent. I love the music and equal the human.
Awesome, esp with your dad. when it rains, it gives that 90s and earlier feel. without phones people were humans and in the moment and not behind a screen live.
Lol i seen metalica live for the first time last aug. Have been to 1000+ metal shows, watched the live shit dvds as a kid. And I cried while singing along the whole time
To me, this is nothing more than making life easier for themselves. The cost to circle back is astronomical. That is the only reason they played through the weather.

Never played in the rain. But was in a death rock/horror rock/punk band, & one time our lead singer had fake blood he threw into the crowd during our intro.... Got all over my guitar strings & was all thick & sticky. Totally killed the sustain in my guitar. 😂 Chords & notes would only ring out for just a second or two...we had to stop just so me & the bass player could clean it off our strings. 😂😂😂😂 Kind of embarrassing. 😂😂😂😂
