Shane Stewart Because his snare sounds better? Sound is not everything, the performance counts, the cymbal technique of him will be better I can tell without watching the Video you think is better, because he does really good cymbal work, and no, bashing cymbal isn't good cymbal work, you should play it with finesse line Josh does it. This 12 year old probably also has like the most young cover boys and girls parents with too much money. Josh put work into this, recording it, mixing it, syncing it with the video etc. which your 12 year old girl didn't do any of that. If you think the sound matters then show me your 10k drum set with a set of mics worth 3k. Learn how to record, record it, mix it, sync it up with the video, all by your own and show me that you're better.
You have to buy a double pedal!! You can get them for as cheap as $60 or as expensive as $1000. They have a rod or a drive which connects them to each other not hard to put together!!
Still can't believe that people say Lars suck at drums creating a drum seating such as One and all the other tracks from the other albums... Excellent cover dude, keep it up!
Change the drumming style and you change Metallica. Some of the drumming sound alike but it fits the band's playing style. If only he plays it all the time like how he's recorded them, like how the rest of the band play their piece like how it was on the album.
I love that part but actually even more impressive and enjoyable for me was later than that during/after the final solo. Fucking awesome drumming, nice job OP
What I find fascinating with the way Lars played the kick-kick-snare beats on the studio album (starting here at 5:15) is that he played them _much_ faster/tighter than Josh does here. Lars' double kicks sound almost like a single kick. Getting them as tight and consistent as he did back in those days... Well, let's just say Lars used to be a pretty decent drummer. In the studio, at least.
Don't want to hate on the comment section, but as any true musician will tell you, playing like a virtuoso doesn't mean you're a great musician. Composition is key, and, hands down, Lars composition and details are awesome. Don't get confused between PERFORMERS and MUSICIANS.
You are the best drum cover guy on youtube and you barely get any views because you're aren't those hot girls who suck at drumming and get a shit ton of views. Hopefully you will get more famous. EDIT: It's been two years since I posted this comment and this video has a lot more views, good.
Dude, I've been watching you forever and you've helped me so much with your covers. You're the only drummer whose covers I pay attention to. Thank you Josh.
I think that this song is pretty much one of Lars best drumming he's done. It sounds really good with the music, like the verse riffs. A drummer doesn't need to go technical, just has to make it work it work with the music as needed, and for 'One', he pretty much nailed it, in my opinion.
Lars isn't my favorite but he's one of the best drummers who makes it fit . I just found this dude today and he is very clean and his set sounds great..
I love the way you just let the hi-hat cruise along. In the oroginal, he's so insistent on using 8th notes, but you give it a chiller, "laid-back" vibe for the first half. Sounds awesome
As good as note for note. One of the only drummers on YT to do this. Bravo for your skill and determination in learning the song properly. I know how hard it is to get 32th triplets on the bass drum to sound nice and solid
At last, i always imagined how the drumming on this song would sound with a more meaty and punchy drum sound cause in the original, the drum sound is so thin so, the machine gun part, gets some serious volume in here, sir, once again, i admire your work.
Hands down the best one cover ive seen. every single note was there. flawless. i actually clapped when u were done....that was fucking amazing and there is no way lars came up with that...someone else had to have written that and tought him to play it...because that is just to intracit for his style of playing....great performance.....👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Even though I don't play drums because I can't afford for a drum set,I love watching your videos. In my opinion you make one of the best drum covers on youtube.Keep it up man! Can't wait for more. :D
Just got back from listening to Meytal Cohen and came here because I couldn't stand the st. anger snare the low depth sounding bass drum and the lack of enthusiasm. You deserve alot more subscribers. I guess it's just all about gender that defines how good you are.
I've never touched a drum stick, only play guitar, but you inspire me to spend years on the drums to be able to do this. Thank you for these awesome videos, you play very very well. Great precision and sound.
Awesome cover! Could you do a cover of Through the Never in San Diego 1992? :) And do you ever get bruises on your foot from the pedal? Cheers from Denmark!
You should do a patreon thing, allowing people to request songs in exchange of some cash to improve the quality of the channel. Multiple camera angles would be great.
Sebastian Osorio He already ask for donation on the discription. It would just give more meaning to it. Also increasing the quality and interaction with the public of the channel. It is not a job.
He got donations for to buy better equipment and if he were to get paid to do songs. I feel he would be pressured to do this instead of doing it for fun.
Actually I disagree. I like the one camera angle with the foot cam. It makes everything he plays easy to see. Multiple camera angle videos are more arty, but they are a pain when you want to see what he is playing and learn.
\m/ Yeah, Josh! So happy to see you got the floor cam going. Hoping to learn a lot from watching the small box. Liking the new black backdrops too. Keep Rocking.
Fuck yeah dude! Was the first words out of my mouth. Thanks for posting this video, I have slight trouble with some parts of this song myself but this video will help me hammer it out! Thank you and keep playing!
hahaha, wasting your time to jump on any little mistake a non english speaker could make on youtube and making fun of him, insulting him instead of helping him to improve in english. gosh, your life must be boring man.
220 haters hating because you can play circles around them. You can play circles around me all day but I enjoy watching your videos! Keep on kicking ass!
Lars ulrich is actually a HELLA GOOD drummer He is hated so much Remember for what he did rather than what he became Remember this next time you make a Lars joke
Yeah Metallica wouldn't be where it is without Lars And I'm sure 99.29% of the people who diss Lars don't even know the name of drum parts because real musicians know how much effort it takes to compose music and Metallica, Metallica's in a different league
Binit Lamichhane What a dumb comment. I’m a real musician. I know the names of all drum parts. I know the names of all guitar parts. I know every song in Metallica’s catalogue. I know how to play probably 75% of their catalogue on guitar. The other 25% I just haven’t learned yet. I can bullshit my way through every Metallica song on drums, probably except Dyer’s Eve, because my legs get tired. Metallica is one of my favorite bands of all time. Metallica can probably take full credit for influencing me to pick up the guitar, drums, etc. Every time I pick up an instrument, I end up playing Metallica for about 20 minutes just to jam and have fun, and because I love them. Every time I BS a guitar solo over a backing track, you can tell that I’ve listened to thousands of hours of Metallica during my life, because I can’t break out of the influence they’ve had on me. All that, and I STILL think Lars Ulrich SUCKS.
Erik Andersen if you see Lars live play this song is awful, im a huge fan of Metallica but their are getting old, the only reason why they did concerts are for the money, Lars can't play this song fully correct, all the song are Lars triying to make them sound good when the reality is that some songs sound terrible with all these fills, Metallica fans need to star getting in mind than Metallica its no going to last another 10 or 15 years.
