One of the best live versions they've done of Orion, honestly. Every note was equally as tasty as the last, and the vibe was very celebratory and cathartic. Keeping Cliff alive the best way they know how.
Same! Saw they opened with it to kick off the tour in Amsterdam, and was hoping they’d keep it in the set over here. Maybe 1 of these days we’ll see To Live is To Die!!
They were so above everyone else in the bay area at the time. Head and shoulders above their friends, and they all knew it too. There's a bunch of documentaries out about the S.F thrash scene and everybody was like "those dudes are gods" even though they all lived together and partied together. Check out Murder In the Front Row specifically if you haven't already.
You have to be a genius to write this piece of music in your 20s. I still cannot believe how young they were when they recorded Master of Puppets. Truly absurd.
It was a FANTASTIC, AWESOME night. I’ve seen Metallica a few times over the years, but honestly this was the best I’ve ever seen them. They were so together and sounded incredible. I choked up during Orion. Just like the MoP version. Cannot wait to see them again 🤘💛🖤
I was at this show. They must have turned up the PA at this point cause it was louder than the first half of the set. The blew the fucking walls out of Met Life and it was amazing
@@kevinbenedetto5281 the perils of stadium shows. The PA stacks were way too high for floor seats and you were likely near the bass bins which are subs. And the only stage volume at their shows is drums....all the guitars go right through the PA. I was back in the 100 section but sound was good
@@orion681 niiiice! i loved it regardless. i had opposite vantage point for night 2 and the sounds was much improved. dunno if it was just from my perspective or cause they made adjustments, but it was better, regardless.
@@emansfvera Really is it easy. Can you play the bass solos that Cliff Plays. If you don't have proof, you kind of just sound like an arrogant asshole. Because the Bass shred that Cliff plays on the album is far away from being easy. I doubt that you learned to play that when you were 13. Unless if you are simply referring to the rithm. Yes that is easy. But not that bass solo.
I waited literally decades to hear this song played live and it's such a blessing 🙌 Cliff would've been so proud to hear his music being performed all these years later. Robert's Awesome 👌
I was in the pit! Just to the right of this dude. And I was astonished at how good it sounded. I honestly cannot believe I was there for this. Bucket list accomplished! I have been to see them 4 times: 92, 04, S&M2, Arlington 23. This was by far the best. Yes, much better than the S&M2 concert. And that was a one time off doozy. The first night fkn rocked. The second night was also amazing, but c'mon, Orion, Harvester, Creeping Death, untouchable night. I hope they continue the 2 night tours for their next tour as well. What a fkn great idea. Take a Metallica vacation.
Wow awesome and emotional for as I heard this Track back in 87 junior high school brings me back so much memories of those times . Great performance they still kill it live . Thank you for the memories 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🥲
*I LOVE THIS MASTERPIECE OF THE METALLICA : ONLY THEY , WELL DONE , GOODLY , CAN PLAY AND SHOW IT SO SPLENDIDLY . EXCELLENT EXPONENT .. SHINE SHINY 🌠✨🌟✨🌠 FINE BEAUTY AND NICE ARRANGEMENT WITH PLEASANT LIGHT*
I FINALLY got to hear them play this live in NJ! This is a top notch video of one of their greatest songs. Thanks for posting and for the 1st class quality🤘🤘
This actually sounds insane for a live performance This sounds like its captured from the soundboard and maybe even cleaned up Sounds great. Legendary track
oh man I can’t wait! I’ve been to many Metallica concerts and haven’t heard any of these 3 songs played live yet!! so excited but too bad I have to wait until next summer
Metallica is the reason I'm now obsessed with Lovecraft. He's this inspiration behind all my favorite cosmic horror movies. In the mouth of Madness. Aliens. The thing. I didn't know that before 🤷🏿♀️Love em all.
*SNAKE PIT OR FLOOR WAS BEST. THE BASS WAS UNBELIEVABLY HARD ON YOUR BODY. NEVER FELT ANYTHING LIKE IT AT ANY CONCERT. WAS A TALES OF THE CRYPT EXPERIENCE WITH THE SMOKE FILLED BOWL*
I love Orion, obviously. But, come on, they must play To Live Is To Die at one of these shows. They did Ktulu & Orion. They have to complete the trilogy. Let's go!
