I like The Four Horsemen for it's musical integrity, and I like Mechanix for it's speed and intensity. I can't really pick one over the other because they're both amazing!!!
The Four Horsemen sounds more charged, legendary and heavy, as well as having badass lyrics. Mechanix is also badass by itself, the higher speed, the more angsty nature and the more “laid back” vocals make it sound like more a traditional hardcore punk song. But overall, I have to go with The Four Horsemen.
the four horsemen. metallica is my favorite band. no other band makes me feel as invincible and all powerful as metallica does when i listen to them. i love the feel their music brings me it’s amazing i love them. i also love megadeth dont get me wrong just not as much
I definitely prefer Mechanix. It's not just that its faster and that the drums are better, its basically a war cry to Metallica. Dave wanted to be the better faster band. I feel like Mechanix was his way of saying "I'm coming for you." You can just feel the animosity in the speed and precision of Mechanix, i love it
Dave Mustaine wrote the middle part of the four horsemen when Lars recommended that they had a slow part in the middle, on the way to the studio Dave and Cliff were listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Dave played the sweet home Alabama riff for the middle section, this was not written after Dave left
Honestly depends on what I'm doing. Four Horsemen hits during endurance related stuff where I need focus, and Mechanix hits when I'm doing looser high intensity stuff
Definetley mechanix I think. Its the definition or rather defines thrash metal. Fast, aggressive, vulgar, raw and unhinged but with a lot of musical skill. And it just sounds more badass
Both has its own qualities, The 4 Horsemen is awesome and has that Metallica sound but The Mechanix has that faster speed plus the cool sound of a recording that you get only on a demo which makes it sound cooler.
Mechanix is definetely the better song because it doesnt have the sweet home alabama riff, and ppl just shit on it because Dave sucks at singing. It was written for Metallica, so it fits James’ voice better.
I mean in my opinion both these songs are amazing in there own ways, but if I am gonna be on a Desert island for the rest of my life and I had to choose between these two songs,it would be the four horsemen.
Mechanix is too fast to make out the notes, it doesn’t have the same groove at that insane tempo. Horsemen is better on the albums, but I think I prefer no life till leather’s Mechanix tbh.
Mechanix for its agression speed power and 4hoursman for its groove anazing bass work love the lynard skynard SHA riff and kirk's solos except there probly Dave's solos, and how it's more progressive but I like mechanix how fast aggressive powerfull heavier so both equally good depends on how i feel
Dave mustaine knew he was kicked for those reasons but he chooses to blame it on Metallica because he was drugged at the time so now he still goes with the same excuse today. The four horsemen is goated
Four horsemen’s lyrics are just better, but I vastly prefer the solo and speed of mechanix. It’s a tough one for sure but I think I’m gonna have to go with the four horsemen just because of the lyrics and James’ vocals, totally get both tho.
Mechanix obviously. It’s a way better song, and I also prefer listening to the song the way it was intended to be. The Four Horsemen is basically a cover with new lyrics.
Horsemen. Even at Mechanix tempo, it's still the superior composition, likely due, in no small part, to Cliff Burton's songwriting chops, even at 21 years old. Note: I am no Cliff Burton Stan, but I recognize the talent.
Mechanix, I love the raw sound. You can hear the anger coming through Dave in that song. KIMB has some bangers on it, they just didn't produce and mix it great.
