Man, Kirk is really tight with his solos nowadays. Still remember the era where he would fuck up every single solo he'd play. It's good to hear him in such good form!
Yeah, on the current tour, Kirk and James are close to the top of their game, which makes Lars' sloppiness all the more tragic, he really holds them back.
@@lclccl Da fock is this people talking about though? Lars has played tight from a good while now, since the last album recordings started, Metallica has gave some of their best concerts in decades while touring this last three years.
I can only imagine how it would have sounded if Michael Kamen were still alive. How different the orchestra would sound... I noticed a lot of the songs performed at the first S&M concerts had not strayed far from the music sheets MK wrote.
As a life long Metallica that loved St. Anger and Lulu, hearing was such a joy to me on a very personal level that will never be able to be explained in words.

Duke Silver totally agree with you about James.. I’m not talking about frontmen, I’m talking about how tight they are as a band live. Both bands blow Metallica out of the water in tightness and keeping their musical chops fresh.. ESPECIALLY THE DRUMMERS...
Duke Silver Kirk and Lars sound like they don’t even practice anymore.. and they need it. Especially Lars. All musicians must practice to stay tight. Lars sounds like he doesn’t even know how to use a double kick pedal anymore.
The setlist is disappointing. I really thought they would dig into songs like Fade, Sanitarium, To Live Is To Die, Mama Said etc. But no, lets go with same same

@@GeorgeDemin Well they can do whatever they want of course but its pretty much the same as S&M 1. For example, Think what Orion or Fade To Black could sound like with beautiful orchestra. I guess we will never know.
They tried songs like Fade, Unforgiven and Orion back in 99 and they couldn’t make it work with the orchestra. I’m not surprised they didn’t play them on S&M2.
The setlist is pretty boring. They should have done Fade to Black and Sanitarium, ORION! and the first unforgiven. Oh well I'll wait till the bluray. I've been trying to find out how to get damn tickets for the theater and there is no info or anything. I went to the big 4 at the theater and it was real easy to get tickets then, now it's a fucking pain in the ass.
Seems like it lacka thw intimate theatre vibe fromthe first. This is a giant arena. The band with the orchestra around them. Last time they were all blended togeather.
I still think Micharl Kamen crushes this conductor and no leaf clover a brand new song in 99 was much better. Cool Th at they did this but I prefer the 99 version. I guess I will have to see this in its entirety to change my mind.
You guys will hate me but metallica play the same thing every concert ,is no capacity to improvising something different , i being listening for 35 years and is boring same shit different concert .
I have to be honest, I am a great fan of Metallica, but I do prefer the old set up of S&M, more simple setting where the orchestra all right behind and you can hear drum, guitars , and bass clearer..I feel like it is too everwhere and too messy of a setup that I can't really hear the band. I am not going to blame James for his vocal, there are a few songs that do not sound that tight, and some where they were on point. But I am not going to expect him to sing like 20 years ago, plus he has been touring around the world for years with their songs that need some vocal power. If it was me, I probably can't even talk. Lol... But overall at their age, I think I am not going to judge each individual because there is something you just can't control. But I am glad they did like what they always do, something outside the box, not afraid to do what you wanna do, and dare to fail. But I can't tell from upload videos, mayb the actual is better..???
@really sore knee , I'm a fan and want Metallica to do great things. But to do another symphonic concert doesn't bring anything new. More than half of the setlist is identical to the 1999 concerts. I'm just longing for more heavy Metallica stuff. But if you like another rehashed Idea, so be it. Regarding Lars, I know that he can Play Better. If he would just stop all those unnecessary random fills, he could become close to what he once was. Calling me a bitch shouldn't be necessary. I'm just a fan who wants me some real metal from Metallica. I want them to try something new and make kick-ass music. But let's agree to disagree.
