Bass playes for Metallica 1981-1982: Daves forgotten ex 1982-1986: Metal Jesus 1986-2001: Cooler Satan 2001-2003: DICK! - Bob 1991 2003- now: mutated crab but cool
@@Faks.09 word. If anyone's to blame for that it's that asshole Mustaine. It's fuckin dumb to shit on someone just because they got fed up with dealing with an alcoholic bully that literally nearly killed them via electrocution after intentionally pouring a beer into their bass.

Totally agree! Jason was the best for singing the "Thrash Metal" era of Metallica aka "Kill 'Em All", because from 1990, James voice became more of Heavy Metal style vocals
With Rob Metallica gained a great bassist no doubt about that... without Jason they loss a fuckin' awesome bassist, a backing vocals for sure they miss... a powerful stage presence... he was their fuckin' heavy metal soul... how much I miss that sound and powerful presence...
@@ItsAllAboutGuitar How and when was he sloppy? Rob is actually good bassist and guitarist. See a video where he plays an acoustic when Kirk enters the studio. He's brilliant. Except, in Metallica, he's not continuing the aggression and tone and style of Jason. So if you compare, they're totally different, but for Metallica's energy, Jason is the guy. Hes a fucking beast and levels up Metallica's sound and performance. Rob's style is more chilled and groovy. This one time I saw Rob really go insane was when Lombardo played Battery with them on Download fest. Someone needs to do make a proper full version of the video, combining fan footage and mix the audio better to hear Lombardo clearly. His double kick is almost inaudible
Imagine this: The Four Hoursmen played at the tempo of Mechanix with Dave on lead guitar and Jason on vocals. Now that would be peak thrash performance
I always loved these bits where Jason sang complete verses or complete songs! Kinda gave the opportunity for James to just go and interact with the crowd. And it was overall really cool! Damn, wish they could pull this off with the current crew. Unfortunately Kirk and Robert are not quite built for that. I gotta add that, in 2003 when Kirk took over some of the backing vocals... I loved that. One for the team.
I know.. Lars take his Ipad secretly to the bathroom and watch this video all the time./... ( He cries a bit ).... Long Live to the real Metal God ! JASON !
I miss Jason :( He was the first tallica bassist when i started listening to em, and he's, my fav for sure \m/ Cliff & Rob are also awesome though RIP Cliff, your legacy will live on!!!
I remember I heard this version with Jason on vocals on the Four Horsemen time ago, but I couldn't remind the exact date! Thanks for uploading it, RU-vid solved my question eheh
That is how The four horsemen sounded, When they were metal enough to sound raw, When Jason was still part of Metallica, when lars was better drummer than my grand mother, and when Spider Man was just a movie character not a bass player ...
James said Jason was a better fit for whiplash, seek and destroy, 4 horsemen and a few other songs. And there was a time when James was repeatedly harming his vocal chords.
I kinda notice....... James goes to kirk, Kirk goes to james, James goes to Lars, Kirk goes to lars, Nobody goes to Jason. - I saw Jason turn around as if to give Kirk some eye contact as he went by but Kirk acted like he didnt even see him there. Sadly I think Jason made a wise choice cuz I think they did shaft him most of the time & even being in the band Longer than Cliff they still treated him like the new guy. I think it hit them during some kind of Monster era & they started realizing what theyve done.
I've never seen this. It's amazing they let ol Jason sing the whole song. Or turn up his bass. I love all era of this amazing band. But this rare spectacle is pretty rad. I love it.
Jason was the man to watch in live performances, and the low bass was just in and justice for all, in the other records and live performances the bass has a decent volume, and he used to sing at least one song per show, kill em all stuff. Shame what James did to him and the band itself.
