While Steve investigates a roof-smashing new meteorite fall in Virginia, Geoff and his Aerolite Meteorites team track an elusive fireball in heat-ravaged Arizona. Later, the Meteorite Men rendezvous in central Texas at the fall site of the daytime Ash Creek fireball, with fellow hunter Ruben Garcia and Hopper the Meteorite Dog. This action-packed episode ends with a trip to the world-famous Tucson gem and mineral shows, where the guys offer up some of their finds to help fund future expeditions.
TRIVIA
This was Steve and Geoff's second visit to the site of the Ash Creek meteorite fall, although the first was not filmed. They flew in immediately after the fall occurred in February of 2009 and returned some months later to make this episode. The Ash Creek meteorite was originally named "West," after the Texas town where it fell, and it was the first instance in history of Doppler radar being used to locate fallen meteorite fragments.
