Excellent and, to me, original idea. I am impressed that you have admitted its disasvantages. Fo me ir narrows the scope rather early but that may have its positives too and, as you say, it's worth a try. Thanks very much for posting this. I love to learn new things in creativity.

Faulty logic comparing advantages/disadvantages numerically. Some advantages might be critical in either method, it depends on what the group wants to produce as a result of the exercise.

A possible enhancement (or at least, a variation) might be to precede this session with a more 'conventional' brainstorming sesion to free up, prime or seed the participants' minds to get them in the right frame.
