i found this song by accident about a year and a half ago, while downloading random metric tunes. it's never gotten old, and is one of those "stand-by songs" that makes me turn up the volume when it shows up on shuffle.
@heavysumo I wish more DJs would play great songs like this! Or more Twelves remixes - they're so damn good! I saw the Twelves here in NYC and they rocked the entire club. After the show, everyone was asking who are these guys? They're awesome! :D
Incredible...both the composition and the visuals. Like a mashup of Daft Punk, Stereolab and Metric. Not taking anything away from you, mad props for your creativity and incredible imagination and skill. (This coming from a DJ). I would definitely play this, anywhere.
Afaik, the term bloghouse was given to mid 2000s nu-disco/electro in retrospect (as it is often the case when it comes to genres) since it has been mainly shared over blogs. I think the term dates back to an interview with A-Trak. While you may know this already, I just wanted to take the opportunity to say: Fuck, I miss those days =(
Great remix! unlike most remixes where they forget about the song you definitely didn't. It seems as if most dj's now just use the song title and one line from the song to promote their beats.
@breaker0021 In venues like Lovebox in NYC there's still (mostly) a less commercial DJ line-up. Don't work with them or for them (don't even live in NYC). Still agreed more remixes by talented indies like this duo would be amazing... Cheers!
@EvanEtrics I get wut ur sayin not all songs should be remixed but sum songs bang in clubs The twelves did a real good mix of songs like this on essential mix u should deffff check it out.
