Metro 2033 is a must play for any fan of first person shooters or horror games.
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2033, where the majority of humanity has been forced to live underground in the Moscow metro system due to a nuclear war.
The gameplay is defined by scarcity and desolation - the environment bringing perfectly to life the feeling of helplessness as you trawl through the Metro and the irradiated surface, scrounging bullets and gas masks.
Every station is both a breath of relief and a grimy vignette of the ruined world, the people cramped amongst militia, living under an air of death at all times.
The combat is intense and challenging, with limited ammo forcing players to proceed slowly. The story is expertly paced and the visuals and sound design only add to the mortal dread as you pick through the remains of humanity.
