I can't remember the exact words, but this quote has been stuck in my head since I read 2033 as "those who are brave enough to peer over the darkness their whole life will be first to see a flicker of light in it". What a beautiful concept.
Yea true it's really nice game with great stealth and story and that graphic just only that letter Metro postapocalipcik world where only guys leave at Metro with some monster is great thing and that book ya just great
@GoTi4No you might like it, and so did I, but it doesnt change the fact AI is somewhat on similiar level it is in Skyrim or (bethesda) fallout when it comes to stealth, so not the brightest. But as long as you follow the scripted path it's pretty engaging and immersive
@@lodnem9264 I expected the sticky bombs to have goop of some kind covering it first time I played metro 2033 and heard about sticky bombs, when I actually got one though I was very much not disappointed.
The enviromental storytelling and atmosphere in this game was astounding, the random stories the NPC's tell, the philosophy everything, true masterpiece
"Żyję w świecie, w którym niema jutra.Nie ma w nim miejsca na marzenia, plany , nadzieje... Uczucia ustepują tu instynktom, a najważniejszy z nich każe przeżyć. Za wszelką cenę " - Metro 2034
"This is Moscow, do you hear me? ST,Petersburg? Vladivostok? Voronezh? Novosibirsk? Do you hear me? This is Moscow! We're alive! I don't know if you heard us before... we couldn't hear you. We thought we were the only ones left. We thought... there wasn't anyone else. Nobody and nothing, do you understand? How could you understand? You've been chattering to each other all this time... while we... oh lord, thank god that you're alive! That you're there. Out there... Singing songs. How are you out there? We've been here all these years. Underground. We were afraid even to stick our head out. We thought there was nowhere to go, can you believe that? We had no radio. There were no signals. Some bastard here set up jammers... in Moscow. In Balashikha. And they hid you from us. It was as if it was as if we were deaf. And blind. We sat here for twenty years... I've been here for twenty years, and im only twenty six... sitting here, down under the ground. My name's Artyom. Down in the basement, in the Metro. Did you at least try to find us? I tried to find you... we tried. We thought the whole world had been burnt up, the whole planet... That there ws nowhere to go, to crawl out to... But we still searched, we hoped. How are you... you have dances there... I want to come and see you so much. Can you breathe out there without gasmask? What's your air like? We don't know anything about you. We've spent twenty years here alone. I don't even know why. What for. Why did we sit here in the darkness? Surrounded by concrete? We'll find out who did this to us. We'll smash their fucking jammers. We'll be together again. This is Moscow. We'll be with you, with the whole world. We're alive, do you understand? Everyone's alive, and so are we! Maybe you have relatives here. Forty thousand people survived here. How many of you are there? We'll be a country. We'll live on the surface, like before. Like human beings. I ... There was so much i wanted to say to you. I rehearsed what i was going to say a hundred times in my mind. And now i forgotten it all. I hope you can hear me, at least. I'll speak here for as long as i can. Then they'll probabily switch me off. The people who put up the jammers. Who cut us off from you. they'll come back. We'll try to hold out here for a while. But there are only two of us, and lots of them... The Reds. just don't think that you're imagining this. Or that this is all a joke. I'm real. my name is Artyom. If they kill me, others in Moscow will hear and they'll lead the rest of them out. are you there, Moscow? Hansa? Polis? Everyone who hasnt forgotten yet ... Who else is listening? I'm not the only one. we've been tricked. we've all been tricked. We could have left our shelter a long time ago. and gone wherever we wanted. driving or walking. Anywhere at all. even as far as Paris. Or Ekaterianburg. The Reds hid everything from us. What for? So there wouldn't be any hope? I don't know what for. I can't understand it. We can just ... we can just live now. All up on the surface-and live. Like before. Like human beings. The way people are suppose to live. Live! Do you hear me? There: I haven't gone insane. They're all there; they exist-all of Russia, and Europe, and America ... They're al real! Listen for yourselves! And now we exist, too!" -Artyom
This is Nida (Нида). Hello from Lithuania we finally found someone. We can't comunicate with other Lithuanian cities, they are probably dead, Kaunas Vilnius Klaipėda and others doesn't have a metro so there is a slim chance they made it. The biggest cities were bombed but smaller towns were not. We are sure that there is people in Juodkrantė Purvynė Pervalka and Preila. Our rusty radio tower can't send signal longer then this so bye. -Nida

Just listening to this song gives me the chills. 2021 still sucks... I am trying not to lose hope but I am hopeless no matter what. I feel sad and decated rn.
Yes we tend to want life to be more fun and exciting, forgetting with live like kings 1000 years ago. Air conditioning, medical and dental access, and BEER 🍺 on demand.
You right my russian budy, me too when listen this theme i think like you and i ask my self "what happen if i be arthom (i forget his name :( ) what can i do? (and yes you should ask yourself)
This hits different honestly. Metro LL was my first Metro game and soon Metro Exodus will be the last. I hope they make more Metro games and I hope they're as good as the current ones.
Everyone reaps what they sow, Artem. Violence breeds violence, and death is paid for with death. Those who do not think of doubt and do not know repentance will never break out of this circle.
I was so hyped for Metro Exodus. I finished 2033 and Last Light several times. Awesome games. Exodus is a great game too...but I just got bored both times I tried to play through it.... Is it just me?
I got kinda offput by the low effort jump scares that I could see mile away... Story itself was not so well told, the devs just assumed player to feel sorry for Anna but I didn't see them putting effort to build up her character so you would have actually cared, so yeah, felt a bit lower quality than in Last Light.
I fully understand you. It was not the same feeling at all. Metro "1 and 2" were quite similar in their execution, couldn't give a F about the story but it was portrayed like you were the last people alive for 1000 miles, trapped underground by the inhospitable surface and whatever lurks above. The only times you braved going out was for a "shortcut". Exodus didn't feel like that at all. You could run out of and resupply your medkits/ammo and explore a different direction. You also just ran around solving other peoples problems in literally every terrain imaginable.
@@Tyiriel I knew that even before Exodus was released and before i played it ,and i complained about it on several places.Real Metro atmosphere is like in books, underground ,dark places, scary monsters, where u really feel like u are struggling for survival ,not this above ground shit, typical shooting game. But all in all it was ok game i guess, passable.
I prefer Exodus out of 2033 and last light, I was more exited to hang out with the crew than killing nazis and communists and personally I feel more involved with the action. It's personal regarding the replies of this comment 😂.
there is exodus and if Dmitry glukhovsky makes a another Book maybe Metro 2045 and there is like everything changed and the radiaton is not that high maybe A4 Games will release another metro with better graphics and stuff

This is epic I listen it while bearing my airsoft Kalash in the pale glow of a lonely glowstick in the dark tunnels of a mine that is owned by a friend.
