Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 update as of September 2017 

You do us a public service, Dmitri! I also like you one song using that SimCity beat (too bad EA killed it, Paradox took it and ran away with it). I hate to say it but I think you're at least a year away from getting a substantial part of the project up and running, but once those pieces are up it will cut down on some of the traffic. There's several sections that look like they'll be ready within the next six months, but I think it's going to get held off until they get the interchanges constructed, and you've got some gaps that need to get filled. I hope they've set up for 3x3 because I believe this road will get heavy use. Count your blessings, you could be dealing with a failed PPP like I-69 in Indiana that's pushed the end of construction back two years! And I count mine, lovely Irma was going to take a piece out of me but it's projected now to a Cat 1 by the time it gets to me, it wanted Tampa instead. If the major turnpikes and freeways in Florida were arteries the coronary would already be on. I-75 and I-95 are the fastest parking lots around. There is absolutely no way those roads will be clear before Irma hits. To quote the old UK Protect and Survive, "The safest place for you to be is in your own home. STAY THERE."

Whew, akala ko no September 2017 update kasi I noticed your posts were for your Bicol/Quezon trips hehe :) Section 1 already shows promise, Buendia entry is on the works as well as the Quirino ramp (at least coming from Taft Avenue)

A lot of improvements in Sergio Osmena Highway or South Superhighway or SLEX. Wonder if they'll put a toll plaza under Skyway. Still not much in Quirino Ave but let's say 1 month after there's a lot of activity there also Araneta also has lots of girders and poles installed. Sgt. Rivera is fine although not a lot of improvements either. A. Bonifacio has lots of improvements. Traffic conditions in A. Bonifacio is/are the worst in this vid.

Exciting ang Skyway. Kaganda. I congrat Filipino Enginners. Marami tayong mga marurunong kaya tayo pumapasa abroad. Meron lang ako comment sa ating driving rule. Pag overtaking wala tayong signal if going right, left or ahead for info of other commuters to be warned to give way. Hala ke-hala lang tayo overtake. Driving not within the lane at ang speed limit should be lowest if not in highways. Should have lane for motorcycles though.

Thanks for the update. Structural I trust as it's easy (CAD/CAE -- you know - computers) but I am just wondering though how well are QA Engineering on the the construction, specs and materials inspections. As a non-practicing Civil Engineer - most of the failures I've seen in PH building and structure failures are due to: (1) QA of the materials (2) Poor implementation of the construction - i.e. improper rebar placement, bends and formworks (3) Poor Foundation Management/Design. Can (will) it survive a Magnitude 8.0 to 8.3 earthquake (which is the basis for most engineering designs in PH)....I certainly hope so. Kobe, Loma Linda etc have given SEs lots of lessons.

Rest of the world has pretty much agreed that building more roads will not solve anything. It will just invite more vehicle traffic. If all this money was sunk into a proper train service across Western Luzon, things would be much better now. I mean Clark-MNL construction is starting only now and they're planning to complete it in 4 years, I don't see it happening. Meanwhile many areas in between stations need proper bus lines with 3-door extended buses, preferably LNG fueled. Running long distance buses with 1-door is only adding to the congestion as they need to stop for longer, surprisingly ignored fact. FX and Jeepneys are no solution for high population density areas.
