Seems that a water leak happened at the station judging by the condition of the ceiling

Seems like more than a water leak. Probably bad paint used on the ceiling.

It owes its name to its proximity to Boulevard Malesherbes, which received its name under the Restoration in order to pay homage to the French academician Chrétien Guillaume de Lamavoine de Malesherbes (1721-1794), French magistrate, botanist and statesman who was guillotined under the Terror. France had a habit decapitating its most famous people then :) Those 'garden/park benches' are a bit unusual for a 'renovated' metro station. Usually they install those egg-shaped style seats.

I wonder why there's no website that categorizes all the different styles of seats or benches in Paris metro stations. 🤓 Solferino for example has the same benches, but in brown color. Also sometimes after spending a long day inside metro stations, I think to myself cushioned seats at the platforms would be nice! 😅
