The way Korone laughs at her failures and never loses her enthusiasm even when stuck is amazing.

They actually didn't give Samus much dialogue in this game *because* they wanted the player to think "What is Samus thinking right now"? "What is she feeling"? So I bet the developers _loved_ Korone's playthrough.

Not gonna lie. Korone being able to get a clear time of 7 hours and change along with her rapid progress in this being her *FIRST* Metroid game shows just how top-notch designed it is that a newbie and veteran alike can find immense joy in their first playthroughs.

one of the things i love about korone is that the second she gets *any* kind of advantage she *instantly* gets a big head about it and starts gloating and mocking.

man, the translation of "Don't actively TRY to counter the EMMIs, stupid." from Japanese is way better than the official English version of "It's really, really hard so maybe don't." "Usually coincidental and extremely rarely achieved" definitely gets the point across better.

For those wondering about the plot that Quiet Robe went through, here's a very quick rundown of the four main-series Metroid games leading up to Dread (aka Metroid 5): Metroid 1/Zero Mission - The Federation, having no other choice, hires Samus, the last person alive (that they know of) from Zebes, to deal with the Space Pirates, and the Metroids they're breeding. Samus makes the facility, Kraid, Ridley, and the Space Pirate ship, go kaboom. Metroid 2: Return of Samus - The Federation sends Samus to SR388, the Metroid home planet, to eradicate the last of the Metroids. Samus does so, except for one freshly hatched larva that imprints itself on her. The new mother takes the baby Metroid with her. Metroid 3 (Super Metroid) - Samus leaves the baby Metroid with a research station and flies off to find a new bounty, only for the Space Pirates, specifically Ridley (who is alive somehow), come, steal the Metroid, and head for Zebes. Samus follows, finishes off the Space Pirates for good, and makes Zebes (the entire fucking planet) go kaboom. Metroid 4 (Fusion) - Researchers wander around SR388, and the Chozo ruins within, because it's supposedly safe now without the Metroids, but then they (along with the Security Samus) get attacked by a previously unknown parasite thingy. Samus survives somehow because they made a vaccine somehow. Turns out, SR388 is the home planet of the parasite, known as X, and that the Metroids were created by the Chozo to destroy them. Oopsies. Samus, now literally the only being in the universe immune to X goes to the now abandoned research station to save it, battling her X-infected suit along the way. Samus makes the space station, and the SR388 it's orbiting, go kaboom - technically declaring war on the Federation in the process Metroid 5 (Dread) - Samus, still literally the only being immune to X, is forgiven because the Federation isn't _that_ stupid, and they send her to deal with the X on ZDR (and the missing E.M.M.I.s) - the rest of the story is shown in the video.

Wow, you've really outdone yourself on this one... Koro Mains. Just for funsies, here's the story bits that people may know/may want to know before the Dread story: Spoilers for Metroid 1-4, and maybe a tiny bit of Other M. Samus Aran is a bounty hunter. She was raised by an ancient race of bird people called Chozo on the planet Zebes, after her family was killed by the space pirates. She was infused with Chozo DNA, trained as a warrior, and given a Chozo power suit. When she grew up, she left the Chozo to join the Galactic Federation, and served under a guy named Adam, who seems to like calling her "Lady" for some reason (this is probably relevant later). At some point after Samus left to join the federation, Zebes was attacked by the space pirates, and the Chozo living there presumably either left, or were killed. - METROID - After some time with the federation, Samus left due to various reasons, and disappeared for a while. She would eventually became a bounty hunter known across the galaxy. It was at this point that she was contacted by the Federation for a mission. The space pirates had attacked a research vessel containing samples of an organism which had been collected from the planet SR388. Those space pirates were tracked to their base on planet Zebes. Fearing these organisms, known as metroids, would be used by the space pirates to conquer the galaxy, the federation wanted Samus to go to planet Zebes, destroy the metroids, and kill the space pirate commander/bio-mechanical AI life-form thing, Mother Brain (that's just a literal brain in a tank). Samus fights her way through Zebes, defeating a space pirate leader named Kraid, then another named Ridley (who may have possibly killed Samus' parents). Once Samus made it to the main space pirate HQ, she discovered that the stolen metroids were being cloned by mother brain, and had grown out of control, killing all the space pirates. Samus fought her way through the metroids, exploiting their weakness to cold, and finally made it to mother brain. After mother brain's defeat, Samus escaped the pirate base before it could self-destruct. (The Metroid Prime series of games happen between the first Metroid, and Metroid 2. But we're not gonna talk about those.) - METROID 2: RETURN OF SAMUS - At some point, the galactic federation decided that metroids were far too dangerous to continue existing, and decided they should be destroyed. They couldn't do it themselves because they're a bunch of wussies, so they hired Samus to do it! So Samus goes to planet SR388, and fights her way through progressively stronger metroids until she finally faces off against the queen metroid. Once the queen is defeated, Samus finds one last metroid egg. The egg hatches right in front of her, and the baby metroid that comes out of it imprints on her. Instead of killing it, Samus takes it with her, and leaves SR388. - SUPER METROID - Samus brings the baby metroid to the federation, and turns it over to scientists which plan to use its power for the good of the galaxy. Samus leaves, but she doesn't make it far before she recieves a distress call from the space colony she'd just left. Turns out Ridley is back with his space pirates, and he wants the baby metroid. Ridley flees with the baby metroid back to the space pirate base on Zebes, which has been rebuilt since Samus' previous adventures there. Samus really wants her baby back, so she once again fights her way through Zebes, defeating various space pirate leaders, including Ridley, and Kraid. She makes her way to the main pirate HQ again, and fights her way through more cloned metroids. Samus encounters a giant metroid, which saps her energy until it finally recognizes her, and flees (this is the baby metroid, now really big, perhaps even... super). Samus proceeds to the Mother Brain chamber, where she once again fights mother brain. This time though, it has a new robot body! Samus is on the brink of defeat, when the baby metroid shows up and saps the energy from Mother Brain. Unfortunately, mother brain kills the baby metroid, but not before it manages to give the energy it had stolen to Samus. Samus then uses the energy to attack mother brain with a hyper beam, and defeats it. Samus escapes yet another self-destruct sequence, this time one that destroys not only the space pirate base, but the entirety of planet Zebes. (Chronologically falling between Super Metroid, and Metroid Fusion is Metroid: Other M, but that game was dumb. The only thing you need to know is that Samus meets up with her former commander, Adam, and also he dies.) - METROID FUSION - The Galactic Federation decided that since SR388 was now metroid-free, they would send a research team to... research the planet. Since Samus had been there before, they hired her as a guide. Eventually, Samus is attacked by an unknown parasitic organism, which eventually caused her to lose consciousness. She was taken in by the federation, where she was found to have been infested with a parasite later named X. The X Parasite was spreading throughout her entire body. Parts of her power suit had to be surgically removed, as it could not be removed while she was unconscious. The scientists found that a cure for the parasite could be created using metroid DNA. As it turns out, Metroids were created by the Chozo specifically to keep X in check. Since all the metroids on the planet were defeated in Metroid 2, Samus unknowingly brought about the resurgence of the X parasite. A vaccine was created from cells collected from the baby metroid. Though it was experimental, the vaccine worked, and the X parasite was completely erased from Samus' body. There were side effects of the vaccine though. Samus was now immune to future infection by the X parasites, and she could now absorb them to regain energy (and missiles for some reason). However, it also gave her a weakness to cold, similar to a metroid, and the remaining part of her power suit became the fusion suit. Samus is now part human, part chozo, and part metroid. Now that Samus was cured, the federation wasted no time in sending her off on a new mission. They gave her a new ship, complete with an onboard AI computer that would help her out on her mission (AKA: give her orders). That AI reminded her a lot of her old commander, Adam, so she decided internally to nickname it Adam. Samus' new mission, was to go to the the Biological Space Laboratory, a space station orbiting SR388, to investigate a disturbance (explosion). The BSL station was where the bits of Samus' infested power suit had been sent, and to the surprise of everyone, the x parasite inside the suit had taken the form of Samus herself. This entity was named Samus Aran-X (SA-X). It had breached the quarantine area of the station, and was now spreading x parasites throughout the entire BSL station, killing all the researchers. Samus went around doing what she does, and eventually made it to a restricted area of the station, where she discovered that, to the surprise of nobody but Samus, the federation had been cloning metroids! The SA-X wanted to kill all the metroids, but the metroids ended up gaining the upper hand, and after some stuff involving a self-destruct mechanism, the restricted lab section was detached from the rest of the BSL station and blew up, along with SA-X, and the metroids. Samus then learned from her ship computer, which was now kind of angry since she blew up all that research, that the federation was really interested in researching the X parasite, and were now really interested in SA-X, which turns out could clone itself, and had already done so many times over. Samus decided she would activate the self-destruct for BSL station to destroy all the X parasites, and SA-X onboard. Samus' ship computer wasn't very happy about this, and locked all the doors so Samus could not destroy BSL station. This angers Samus, and for the first time, in her anger, she calls the AI by her nickname for it, Adam. After inquiring who Adam was, and being super rude to Samus, the ship AI's personality changed to mimic that of the real Adam for some reason. It even calls her "Lady". It unlocked the doors, and tells Samus that she should modify the station's orbit to cause it to crash into SR388, thus destroying both the station, and the planet when it self destructs. Samus fights her way to the station's bridge, and sets the station to collide with SR388, and self-destruct. When she makes it back to her ship hangar, she encounters an omega metroid, which nearly kills her. Before it can land the final blow, SA-X appears and attacks it with an ice beam. Samus absorbs the SA-X, acquires the ice beam for herself, and defeats the omega metroid. She escapes on her ship before the station and SR388 are destroyed, and presumably the x parasite along with it. After her escape, Samus learns that the federation has a habit of uploading the minds of great leaders to computers, discovering that this is what happened to her former commander. Her ship AI, which she'd nicknamed Adam, was created with the mind of her former commander, Adam... WEIRD! Seeing as how Samus disobeyed the federation, and destroyed their research station, I think it's safe to assume that she's probably some kind of fugitive now. Dread comes after Fusion, but I'm not sure how long after.

I can't thank you enough for this feature-length translated Korone experience. This has been one of the most delightful 2 and a half hours I've ever witnessed. I can't believe she beat the game at 44:37 and then just kept going. The mad lass. Honestly, I've always known how skilled Korone is at games, but I was _seriously_ impressed at how quickly she adapted to the Metroid formula considering this was the first in the series she ever played. Basically going into this blind, she figured it all out really well and came up with strategies and solutions that I never even considered. All this _while_ keeping her spirits up, energy high, humor on point, and engaging with chat. Our doggo is so fucking good at her job haha.

When I played Dread, I thought that Raven Beak’s X-infected form was such an obvious and easy thing to beat. Just shoot laser until it dies, using the same buttons you used to take out the EMMIs. Yet somehow, every single streamer I’ve seen who has played the game ended up dying to it at least once, and I’ve seen like six or seven people stream the game.

Seriously, thank you Peko Mains for putting out this translation. It's a nice feeling for me to be able to essentially watch a full games worth of content from a vtuber let alone best doggo Korone. Clips are abundant but this is rare

Hoo boy, can’t wait for her to try out Prime and Fusion, though I expect she’ll go with Super Metroid first. At the very least, she might be able to get used copies of the GBA and GCB titles that she’d be able to play on her GameCube, but considering how poorly they sold over there, the people who have them are unlikely to want to part with them.
