I find it dumb that they made indestructible machines that one an energy that exists by chance.. and there are no Soldiers with that kind of Armor. Even Samus' isn't that powerful.
@@Big_Dai Tanks have armor plating, but you don't see soldiers running around covered in that. There's other things to consider, than just making armor out of something. The fact that there's only like 8 EMMI in existence means the material is super rare; they don't have the spare material to made foot soldier armor. Also, we don't know the qualities of the material; it could be extremely heavy or radioactive. I feel like the lore for them is fine. The only reason they can be destroyed anyway, is because the energy is from some unknown Chozo super tech, and most of the time requires extreme heat to burn off the outer plating of the EMMI to do any harm.
@@sherbertshortkake6649 I think theres 8 emmi, correct me if im wrong but i dont think the emmi at the start of the game thats already broken counts as one
What I find maybe most impressive about this is that every background I looked at in the omega aim angle looked just as good as in the areas where you're supposed to be able to use it.
Yeah it’s kinda crazy that they designed every environment in detailed 3D so that it can be viewed from the first person even though most won’t even see it that way
@@pmahcgop6693 same... I do a lot of sequence breaking in order to shave my 100% run down to just just over the 4 hour mark at this particular moment... I want to get it well under 4 if not under 3... I have a habit of convincing myself that an item or something isn't that far of my path and will go for it while im in the area but I haven't planned or plotted a route.... I've just played through it probably 150-200.. or more times and have figured out my own tricks and skips or whatever... I haven't had internet for over a year so I've been just cranking away at it when im not at work, lol... and the Zelda Oracle games in anticipation for Tears of the Kingdom..
I'm quite surprised that the 'metroid' animation when defeating Chozo Soldiers is tied to whether Samus is a metroid and not the specific boss encounter
I program for a living, and what that tells me so they coded the sequence where she drains the Chozo soldiers in a generic way. It could be a sign they weren’t sure how many soldiers there would be until after that sequence was designed
I saw a speed runner talking about it. it does a set amount of damage that is huge for the early game but really nothing special compared to all the stuff you get by the end of the game
Omega Stream and Blaster each deal 100 damage, and both plasma and wave beam do much more damage. But Omega Stream can shoot 4 times per second, so rapid fire is insanely good.
Wouldn't it be cool if you gained the ability to wear cosmetic suits from different games in the series (including the Final Metroid Suit) after you complete the game for the first time? Update: People who reply to this with just a "No." should keep their opinion to themselves. I'm pitching the idea of unlocking optional cosmetics post-completion of a player's first playthrough, not suggesting that Other M is the best game in the series or something, jeez.
This would be really cool and as a add on to what you said maybe there could be two categories for example the fusion suit and the updated fusion suit in dreads recap of metroid fusion, the varia suit in dreads recap of metroid fusion, the varia suit from samus returns same with the gravity suit, primes version of the varia and gravity suit, maybe the light, dark, ped, and phazon suits and even those suits re-imagined the same way the fusion and varia suit were in the recap for fusion.(edit: oh and variations of all of those based on dreads version of the power suit, and this last one is a little far fetched but maybe cosmetcis based off of characters from past games like dark samus, mother brain, ridley etc)
I appreciate the fact that the Omega Cannon actually deals damage and isn't just for the show of the EMMI fights and cutscenes. Also, this would make an amazing unlockable New Game+ option.
@@Chuito12PR You don't know anything about coding, obviously. It would be a waste of time to limit what enemies get hurt and which ones don't when you already can't escape the EMMI rooms with the Omega cannon. This isn't an indie game either, the "devs" aren't writing and coding the story. The lore of the game is that the EMMI's are made of the strongest material in the universe and indestructible except for the power of the Omega energy. The fact that every other enemy in the game isn't obliterated by a single shot is proof it was just a "meh, whatever" situation.
Eh. it's no where near as powerful as mashing the buttons with the beam, or other attacks. It's funny how it is really strong on some enemies but not on others. Like it was horrendously slow killing the robot Chozo soldiers and the Chozo warriors and Golzuna but seemed really good against Kraid and Corpius.
@@sheek-uh Or that it's Central Unit is still intact which gives it it's intelligence like running towards Samus and without it they become stupid and walk, lore wise at least
Oh and the omega blaster doesn’t work, this is likely due to the game not registering a dead central unit in that area so the game doesn’t allow you to kill the E.M.M.I
Keep in mind that to kill RBX you needed a continuous blast of the Hyper Beam while he was moving erratically, so no, i don't think that the auto aim was unnecessary
PutPity sure RBX is a trigger kill. You have to be dealing damage to him at a specific set of frames to not be one hit killed. The point where it grabs the older and lifts up it checks the trigger. If no damage then game over, if damaged then RBX is defeated. I'm pretty sure there is no set amount of damage to deal, personally I've waited to last minute to start charging the beam and killed him.
All in all, I think that the power of the Omega Cannon is comparable, but not quite as useful, as the Metroid Hyper Beam. That's why you have to use the Metroid Hyper Beam to kill RB-X. I do see the Omega Cannons' usefulness in eliminating normal to X creatures, though.:)
This was the best Metroid game yet I find it odd that after a master piece like dread they are returning to the prime (fps) model. Step backwards in my opinion🤔
Now that she has full control of her Metroid siphon abilities, I wonder how that will translate into gameplay for future installments. The whole series has you replenishing health and ammo by killing enemies, so it would be disappointing if they didn't change anything from that.
No worries, at the beginnging she will have some kind of amnesia / lost the manual / the trial expiered so she will have to go get another contract extension.
I think that's already covered in the ending of Metroid dread. Probably quiet robe sealed the metroid stuff away. With his race being the ones that could control the metroid originally.
@@NL0Gwenster I found it interesting how they resolved that in the end. Quiet Robe's reincarnation via the X (and especially "decomposing" in the gunship to restore Samus to her original form so she could escape the planet) suggests that the X Parasite is (or at least can become) intelligent and sympathetic, and not just hell-bent on consuming everything. I know they've already explained some aspects of that in both Fusion and the beginning lore of Dread, but that only made clear that the X could assimilate and mimic another creature. I feel like the resolution here in Dread goes a step beyond that, which could lead to some interesting story possibiities in the future.
@@KieferSkunk I think the only reason it helped Samus at the end was due to how the X fully copies the host creature, including its personality and known skills and incorporate it into that instance of the X and keep those even if it takes a new form (as seen by the Chozo Warriors having good spearmanship and X Robe being able to re-activate the EMMI's), so its more likely that the X copied Quiet Robe's caring and sympathetic nature and that helped Samus, although it doesn't explain why they re-activated the EMMI's. But at the same time, there is the possibility it just knew it would die and used Samus as an escape route to live and took its chances, and Quiet Robe's personality or appearance had no effect on that X.
@@vaguelyhumanoid7419 good thoughts overall. Regarding the reactivated EMMI's. Maybe another deliberate attempt at helping Samus due to its original kindness and fondness for her. Because she needs the upgrades they posses to have a chance against raven beak.
At 16:10 just imagine an animation where Samus and Raven Beak on either side of the field just sending a barrage of bullets at each other, but never hitting the other.
they should patch in an "Omega Mode" where you have the cannon through the whole game, but the stream doesnt do damage and the charged cannon blast needs to be used to kill all the bosses as a finishing blow type deal
Wait so the game had that over the shoulder view built into the entire game? Like they had a fully 2.5D environment and ONLY utilized it in those EMMI sections? That should have been a gameplay mechanic you could have used at any time!
I'd love to know what would happen if you used the hyper beam against an ability X instead of absorbing it?? I doubt anything happens because it probably wasn't a thing they coded into the game
The camera angle for the cannon was my favorite so cinematic and stylish I wish there was a mode that let you walk everywhere in that angle it would've had perfect other m vibes
Another thing is i believe it may be tied to her abilities and that it is gained right after the cutscene where she absorbs the energy of the orange emmi either that or it may be tied to some code or script that activates after that cutscene i may be wrong on this(if i am right about it being a script then the reason why samus may be doing it then is become the script may have saw that she had the power bombs already which would happen after when she already absorbed the red chozo soldier)
@@cjm1242 I know this was like a month ago but if you sequence break you can skip several Chozo soldiers and of you go back to fight them after you beat the red Emmi she will absorb them as well so you don't need cheats to do so
This technically means that the Omega cannon is weaker than the hyper beam because the hyper beam took Kraid out so quickly that the 2nd phase couldn't initiate correctly. No wonder Raven Beak wrecked the first E.M.M.I so easily.
Usually you get the morph ball bombs after you defeat him but if you sequence break, you can actually get them before you battle him. This was an intentional design.
Dang dude, your good at this. You showed me so many secrets in the game that I didn’t know about and gave me ideas on how to be better at the game. All of that… and I’m pretty sure you didn’t even mean to lol. Thanks!
Great video, but there’s one problem, they should have used the Omega Cannon Charge Lazer on the door leading to Samus’s Gunship. It looked liked it might open if you did, this vid is made for the curious after all.
I thought the cutscenes with the brain things and other specific bosses were pre-rendered, I thought that even if you had the gravity suit, it would still only show the one you start with. Since there aren’t many opportunities to sequence break, especially with the suits, I thought it would have only shown the one that you’re supposed to have.
Now if only Metroid Dread had something like Super Metroid's spacetime beam glitch and you could play the whole game from the beginning with the Metroid suit.
How to kill Z-57? Google: Wait for when it tries to bite you and use the counter attack to initiate a sequence in which you can freely shoot it in the head, dealing a lot of damage. Bing:
Beardbear: \*hacks to get all powers for experimental purposes\* Sequence breakers: HAH! You need hacks to get the omega cannon outa there? I can do it blinddfolded!
Yeah, I just completed it yesterday, started watching a few RU-vid vids, realised I had missed SOOOO many different types of attacks on bosses. This isn’t the only one, there’s so many other ones.
It’s interesting to see using the Omega Cannon being use outside of the zones and obliterating the bosses. It shows that it’s not just a weapon that is only use for the E.M.M.I
i think it would've been great if after beating the game on hard mode in record time it unlocked a new difficulty mode. Metroid Mode, harder than hard mode but not stupid hard like dread mode, after getting the omega cannon in the new mode it's with you the entire game and you can run around firing it simultaneously, it doesn't take you out of 2d view and it does more damage in less time than the regular cannon as long all shots land
Pretty neat that Raven Beak uses all the the aeon abilities from Samus Returns to fight you with. MF even turned the scan pulse into a weapon. Best boss in the series 👍
@@weatherman1504 The one at 15:25. May be a bit of a stretch, but it really seems like it could be, since he uses the lightning armor for the first phase and beam burst in the second.
I have played metroid inspired games that play almost exactly the same as dread, and beaten without dying once, but the moment I start playing an actual metroid game, I choke at every possible chance. I don't even find metroid hard I just mess up my controller inputs constantly.
No you cant. No weapon can hurt a EMMI aside the Omega Stream/Canon. Funny though te omega weapons can only kill the when the thier Control unit is taken down Sry for Bad Englisch
It was great as always, you helped me with your videos a lot , but I really want to know How you fight the bosses you already defeated? I finished the game many times even in hard mode, never tried the dread mode though, but I am really wondering how you could go back and fight them again even though you are already fought them and collected 100% of items? Please help, thanks
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I had no idea 🤷🏻♂️ you could do this! I am so going to do this right now! Hahahaha like I would not be scared to run from no immi anymore🔥🔥🔥🤷🏻♂️
He’s actually over the cap, because of the exploit he’s using for this. He’s starting with the max 275 missiles/15 power bombs and then grabbing some again just through normal gameplay.
Lets play who has more HP: Kreid, one of the longest running bosses in metroid history, the supreme boss of the Pirates and kaiju alien from hell... or Golzuma
How do u have the gravity suit in beginning game? I saw a vid where someone had ravenbeak’s laser cannon and used it on him Are these mods or can u actually use the gravity suit early?
wait, what happens when you power bomb Kraid? edit: it's impossible to p-bomb Kraid. Someone got Power Bombs through sequence breaking, but were unable to use them inside of Kraid's stomach
