This Tool Assisted Speedrun aims to finish the game with the fewest Items in the Inventory without manipulating the %-Counter midway through the run.
9% is one of the 3 (TAS-) low% Categories of Metroid Prime 2, the other two are:
6%, which aims to collect as few items as possible (6 Items collected but 11 in inventory)

Cobalt Translator
Spider Ball
Echo Visor
Annihilator Beam
Dark- and Sunburst

48 Missile Expansions
14 Energy Tanks,
8 Power Bomb- and
4 Beam Ammo Expansions

Could you theoretically get a lower % since the game can be beaten without bombs or SJ?

Although you can skip some of the items I collect in this run, like SJ, Bombs or Dark or Light Beam, you have to get extra items, for example low% no SJ has to collect Violet, Amber, Spider Ball and Seekers to compensate not having Space Jump as you can see in this run I did 2 years ago: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fm7TLn95274.html

This comment made me curious, so I just routed low% without bombs and unless I missed something, you might be able to fully substitute Bombs with Darkburst, which would still be a 9% completion but way harder and more annoying

Love this TAS. Around the time youre in Dark Torvus getting PBs and dark visor it looks like your jumps are super floaty or in low gravity or something. Whats going on there?

When you start the chykka fight in the dark water, your jump gets floaty. It doesn't work if you have Light suit, which is why I avoid getting it early.

How are you not taking damage in morph ball mode in dark aether?

at 16:06 I'm entering a Cannon in the room Sandcanyon while the game thinks I'm in Agon Temple. Unloading Sandcanyon while being shot out of the Cannon allows me to keep the 'Cannon Ball' state, which has three distinct properties: - Total invulnerability while in Morph Ball - An aura around the Morph Ball that deals 500,000 damage per frame, which allows me to Insta-Kill some enemies, most noticeably the second phase of Chykka. This aura is also capable of activating certain doors that were previously locked (though it cannot unlock currently locked doors) without needing to use a weapon against them - Allows Samus to boost, even if she doesn't already have Boost Ball

dude, I noticed that too and I have no idea why it recorded my first segment that way. Thank god there were desyncs or else that would be a run with 100% Helmet opacity

the first desync of the run was during the instant morph in collapsed tunnel btw so that's where I did the cut.
