2006er here. I remember begging my dad to take me to the game store to ask the workers there where I'm supposed to go in.. It took me years to beat this game. I didn't speak english as a kid, so that was part of why it was so hard for me.
born in 97', and am now feeling old, but not old enough to earn that title. Regardless, god bless Retro Studios, to be more specific, it's employees, not it's management structure and business model (although I heard that changed fairly recently, sometime around 2016 or so, they did a lot of restructuring for the better)
Jesus Christ…all these melodies were so beautiful! But also MP 1 and MP2 were absolute fantastic But Corruption will be my favorite game from Metroid, I hope to see some news this year about MP4! I have to replay the whole trilogy
@@fedjamagga8385 It was in the Chozo ruins... I think towards the hall of elders or what it was called but that might've been the one about Phaaze... Which btw there was an inspription theorizing the existence of planet Phaaze. Or it as one of the earlier ones where they talk of their origins and mention Elysia as one of the worlds they tried settling on...
As someone who played prime 1 and prime 2 on the gamecube thats wild but also its cool how this game still gripped you in a way it did me cus I remember for me it started with metroid zero mission on the GBA and Prime 1 and GC then later Prime 2
I love that it has been almost five years since I played this classic and the video randomly pops up on my feed. Miss the feeling this game gave me but grateful for the vast catalogue of great Metroid games.
I'll never forget when I first played Metroid Prime 3 and arrived at SkyTown and heard the glorious music while exploring the vast area.. my jaw dropped the entire time.
“I see a beautiful city. And a brilliant people, rising from this abyss. I see the lives, for which I lay down my life - peaceful, useful, prosperous and happy. I see that I hold a sanctuary in their hearts, and in the hearts of their descendants, generations hence. It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to, than I have ever known.” -A Tale of Two Cities
@@SifGreyfang yep Elysia is a Gas Giant planet and it was a former Chozo home world before leaving for Tallon IV. Plus they needed to find a way to study the stars on a planet with virtually no surface so they built in the sky
I love everything about this planet, and this soundtrack will stay in my head for the rest of my life. It would be amazing to see the Skytown again in Prime 4.
This music is some of the most experimental brilliant stuff I've ever heard. It's so unique! Blending angelic operatic voices with electric guitars and military style drums and gregorian chanting! I could see this being a very early prototype to a future musical genre!
Prime 1 got me into the Metroid series around late 2004. It took until just a few weeks ago (May 2024) for me to finally play Prime 3. When I arrived in SkyTown and saw both the Chozo architecture and, most importantly, heard this music, the first thing I thought of was the Artifact Temple from Prime 1, easily my favorite music of the game and which has held a spot on my generations of iPods for almost 20 years. I honestly thought I was going to shed a tear from being so overwhelmed.
I use to love Metroid prime 1 and 2 the most then I played 3, I could never understand why I loved this game too much, music, atmosphere, lore, foreshadowing of Metroid dread 🤣, this game was heaven and hell at the same time, especially vanhalla and phaaze…..
I have lived these glorious moments with my granny which is in heavens now 😭 and while watching Pains episodes in Naruto with the Girei theme connected to this music 😭😭😭😭😭
my brother got metroid prime 3 for me when i was like 7 or 8 and i never beat the game until earlier this year on an emulator, man i loved this game and i am so happy to have finished it, i've been a fan since i was 5 and now im waiting for metroid prime 4 to release, it will be worth the wait though!
Most beautiful song in my opinion after playing some titles Zero mission Fusion Super (I need to finish that) Mp2 Mp1 (I need to finish that too) And im still replaying MP3 just only for skytown, my fav place 👏😔
Lol when people said rip-off I thought of Cloud City from The Empire Strikes Back. Chrono Trigger also had a sky city of sorts, with the Kingdom of Zeal. The thing is that Prime's sky city really hit hard because of the lore and how the corruption affected the Elysian robots, while also taking control of Ghor and disabling the Aurora Unit.
I didn't like this game either, it's rough, coarse, and I wander around everywhere, Not like Echoes, there I seamless travel between light and dark worlds
Don't get me wrong, I loved Elysia, but hot damn was the music overwhelming. Like there were so many parts going at once at first, it can be disorienting. A few tweaks and this could be spectacular
