Complains about not having the charge beam Gets charge beam Proceeds to never use charge beam. I’m mostly joking around here but man. Flaagra could have been so much easier using the charge beam. You stun it faster. You can blast the solar panels up faster. So yeah simple tip. If an enemy seems too tanky. Don’t forget the charge beam or missiles for that matter. They’ll save your life.

One tip for ya: Use the scan visor. Scanning bosses gives important information about defeating them, and the visor will also reveal important details in the room for optional puzzles and the like. Also helps with finding optional items like missiles and energy tanks.

If Metroid Prime 2 gets the same treatment I am buying it in a heartbeat- especially if it still has the splitscreen multiplayer!

You can press X to jump in Morph Ball mode, destroy War Wasp nests with missiles, and attract pick ups by charging the arm cannon

Please scan enemies more, the entire confusion with the Flaahgra boss could've been avoided if you scanned the boss.

Unfortunately for you Choc, there is no way for you to get the secret prize for scanning 100% of you log Book without starting a new game (Which admittedly you probably will at some point). For future reference, though you technically don't need to scan everything. Its safer if you do just incase (as I don't remember all of the stuff that is needed) Edit: Also, the "Metal Cap" paintings are Chozo Lore, scan it to learn about The Chozo and their life and death on Tallon IV

It's crazy how Dread was the first for a few of us, myself included. I got a copy of this and am excited to play it.

I’ll get into metroid eventually I’ve seen so much cool and underrated stuff from that series it’s hard to ignore (unless we get another 15 years with like no games).

Little tip if you need it, when the charge beam is fully charged, items are magnetic towards you

actually, Choc, the look Samus' Power suit takes after the malfunction is literally the suit with its most basic features.

I really hope that the collective feedback to Metroid Prime will not only allow Metroid Prime 2 to be remastered but boost production on Metroid Prime 4 so that we may eventually see a trailer within our lifetime

For most spider species, the females are physically larger than the males by a significant margin, so double check that first. Otherwise i like the name Manfred for a bathroom spider. Like a courteous butler who will freshen up the bowl once you have used it.

Bought dread in 2022 for my first Metroid and couldn't get far until I played this. Waited for the physical release as well. This game made me feel like I was a kid experiencing a halo level franchise in all it's glory. Really hope they release hd remasters of 2 and 3 before prime 4.

Please scan and read all the pirate logs and Chozo Lore or else your comment section throughout this entire series is going to be filled with people complaining about that. On second thought, just scan everything you see.

The lack of scanning is painful and nostalgic at the same time, reminds me of the first time I played this game.

Interesting bit about the morph ball, Prime actually sidelong addresses how it works, maybe. If you pay attention to the animation when she morphs, it's sort of implied that she actually converts into energy to fit within the sphere. Wild!

This game is stunningly amazing and I loved every bit of it on the GameCube

A common mistake is see youtubers making with Prime Remastered as their first Prime game. They take one look at the scan visor and say "I'm not wasting time with this..." You'll waste far more time not scanning things because you'll die a heck of a lot more. Scan things. Scan everything. Not only will you find a rather good story, but it will help auto target enemy weaknesses, and give you vital clues in how to beat bosses.

So happy that you're playing through this amazing game. If it may concern you, you can choose gyro aiming as well, I think in the camera options you can enable gyro + stick aiming which feels pretty good to use. Really excited for you to continue this game, and here's hoping Nintendo remasters Prime 2 and 3 as well. Especially 2, that's my favorite.

I ordered the physical game on my birthday since it launched on that day and just started playing it 2 hours ago. So far its freaking amazing.

Idk if it’s just me but Ridley seems more mechanized in the original game, like full robot instead of more cyborg. Perhaps it is the lighting or textures of the original idk but it seemed different to me

Both the Super Metroid comic strips and the Samus and Joey spinoff manga show Samus feeling comfortable and relaxed in the Morph Ball, to the point where (even in the much more serious SnJ story) she celebrates recovering the Morph Ball by rolling in a circle for a few minutes

I just finish playing it, it is alright, the exploration it's fun but the combat is a little stupid, your upgrades never feels meaningful, they are essentially a key and not an actual upgrade. Anyway, Metroid Dread is awesome, Metroid Prime it's pretty meh.

You definitely should play Super Metroid after this. One of the best Metroid games, despite it's age. In fact, very little of it has aged poorly.

I waited for a physical copy too. I'd only just gotten into Metroid (beaten super and zero mission) but prime might be one of the best games I've ever played.

I didn't bother waiting and just played my gamecube copy of Metroid Prime 2 right after; not as interconnected but the environments are WAY more alien Love these games, hope you enjoy them! (and the OST)

I first played the OG Prime and Prime 2 on GCN back in the mid 2000s, and it made me fall in love with the series, my second-favorite franchise after Mario. Playing the Remastered version made me emotional, seeing the incredible re-done visuals, and the dual-stick controls are just perfect. They better remaster the other two games.

I was 11. Thank God I had parents that saw the value of gaming. Super smash, animal crossing, metroid prime, Luigi mansion. God that was a good Christmas. We were middle class, walmart shirts and sandwiches everyday lunch. But my parents knew i could learn from games. It wasn't just Mario jumping on turtles anymore. Metroid prime was beyond my dumb 11 year old self. My dad helped me 100% the maps.

I think that the "first person shooter" controls is having the unintended effect of emphasizing the wrong mentality about this game, whereas the original gamecube controls promoted the moniker "first person adventure" more than this version. It is suppose to have a slower, more methodical pace. So many people call this a first person shooter now. And they just wont "get" the focus on scanning, investigation and exploring. They just run past everything.

Woohoo!! So glad you're playing Metroid Prime Choc! I hope you really enjoy it! I do have to apologize, however. I'm sorry, but I had to step out of Weenie Hut Jr. for a minute to also remind you to scan everything you encounter. Ofc you can play in whatever way you enjoy the game, but people will be relentlessly telling you to scan more stuff until you do. I'd say like 60% of the fun in this game is scanning things and learning more about Tallon IV, so liberal use of the scan visor is recommended. Good going for the first time, Choc. But some friendly advice for future playthroughs: You can destroy those beehives with a missile and they won't come back anymore. And those solar panels can be shot up in one go if you hit it with a missile. Saves on time.

Games like Final Fantasy 6, FF7, Chrono Trigger, Duke 3d, GTA Vice city, San Andreas, Resident Evil 1 and 2, really early ww2 shooters, Mario brothers 3, Super Metroid and Metroid Prime, are games that you can play 100 times before you really figure out all the secrets. Some games just aren't as challenging. The idea of having to "figure out a game" seems to not be as appealing anymore so much as GRAPHICS. I will BE DAMNED if many games can claim they are as hard and frustrating as Metroid Prime. Takes you a lifetime to beat in under 6 hours with 100% items. Then you when you do it's like Alexander said "I wept when there were no more worlds to conquer." I played Super Metroid for the first time when I was 10 years old in 1994. In less than a year I learned to beat it with 100% items in 3 and a half hours or less. Never forgot. Of course it must have taken me most of that year putting aside homework I should have done to learn all that. One of my all time favorite games. I really like REMASTERED games much more than remade games. Remade games usually suck. Remastered generally keeps everything 100% the same (or at least 95% the same) just updating the tech to current standards. I honestly had not replayed metroid prime in 20 years. Recently replayed the remastered version. Almost jumped off the balcony. LOL ok maybe I am just being dramatic. Man this game is frustrating. But definitely challenging. Wow what a good game. Does it get much harder? 100% one of the most challenging games ever. 100% recommend. Not for the impatient.

4:45 "Do they have health bars or anything?" Y'know interestingly, in the gamecube version of Metroid Prime, they actually *did*, but it was very subtle. Unfortunately they got rid of it along with the charge meter when they changed the reticle for motion controls and just completely ruined it. For those who wanna see it, just look up some old screenshots and you can see a solid circular health bar and a number of ticks going around the reticle. The ticks only show up if you're charging, but shows you how much damage your shot will do. I miss it. It was genius.

Bought the Cube back in the day just for Metroid Prime. Amazing memories.

I recall in the gamecube metroid, during the cutscene when you lose all of your fancy gadgets, the explosions were so tiny and unimpressive that it felt like you were robbed. I'm glad to see they really upped the oomph of that explosion, actually feels impactful enough TO damage your equipment now.

I think no3 was the 'Masterpiece'. Honestly, no1 was iconic and all - but as a game alone, it wasn't near as Blockbuster & as fun as Corruption was. The boss fights, the crazy Hunters plot tieing into Samus' whole Prime story. Then, the Boss musics - it was _Epic._

Just like Dread, I completed the game in erry difficulty and achieved absolute completion. Both over the course of like 5 days, 50h+. Metroid Prime is definitely among the best FPS I've played

I’m kinda upset they didn’t remaster Metroid Prime Trilogy. But as a collector, and if there’s a small chance Nintendo will make Metroid Prime 4, I would rather buy four cartridges of each Prime game than having 2 cartridges; one containing 3 games and 1 sequel game.

You know, despite having a Wii i never got the chance to play a single metroid prime game. I never found a copy of the trilogy collection nor a copy of Metroid Prime 3, so this title was the 1st time I ever played a Metroid Prime title. Let's just say I've been missing out on a LOT. Despite having a gameplay that on paper i shouldn't like (not a big fan of fps games) I loved every second of it. My only conplain is that you cannot see items on the map and that switching though beams feels a bit cluncky. Also the final boss was fire man, def one of my favourite alongside Dread.

Had prime for the game cube but never played it. I'm an old school 2D metroid fan, but after DREAD released, after waiting for years, I gave prime another chance and am glad I did. The release of DREAD is the reason I bought my switch oled.
