@@2l84me8 Nah, honestly sometimes it's just way faster to damage boost by walking in the lava to get around lmao, especially because of the many times you'll have to backtrack through Magmoor
My mom used to hum to this when I was playing it in the living room. It's always nice to see older generations appreciating good music, even when it's from a game :)
And to think they were hoping to add Kraid in as the boss for Magmoor but ran out of time. *sighs* Outside of that, possibly sole, error in judgement (I'd have happily waited 2-3 more months for that fight), this is best damn Gamecube game ever. I like Zelda and all, but nothing on Gamecube had me play it repeatedly until I was doing no-death Hard mode Speedruns from the sheer amount of practice I put into it, like this game did.
In the game art on the menu screen, there appeard to be a 3-headed magmoor beast thought at least...... Maybe there was a boss design for Magmoor. Or maybe the kraid they were making was going to be on here. That area where the ceiling pops up, the spider ball tracks revealed so you could get the plasma beam would of been a great place for a boss fight. ''3 platforms, lava rises up from the floor, 3-headed magmoor infused with phazon appears, kill it and obtain the plasma beam'' That would of been PERFECT. That's just my opinion.
If I do remember correctly, originally Thardus was going to be the boss of Magmoor Caverns. Phendrana Drift's boss would have been this huge looking 6-legged beast that may have been a relative to the Sheegoth. The model and animations for it are still in the game's files.
Yeah if you think about it, Magmoor caverns was simply a means to get players to Phendrana for the first time and that was it. The Magmoors themselves worked. You're definitely right about that. Although, at least we get the Plasma Cannon in Magmoor Caverns. For some reason the Ice Beam is in the Chozo Ruins. At least it was less predictable.
***** Tight deadlines.... Gotta hate'em. Let the devs have the time they need to finish the game properly! Not saying the game was bad. I friggin loved it, but damn it a boss in magmoor caverns would have been awsome. Like an evolved (or phazon mutated) version of that dragon serpent that appears in some of the rooms. (can't remembet the name)
+MemeMaster Yeah, I love that. I think Retro tweaked the beat to allow that on purpose. With how masterful they are in general it wouldn't surprise me if it's intentional.
Its is , all the region of the game ( phazon mines , magmoor cavern , tallon overworld , agon and phendrana drifts) can be accesed by magmoor cavern , originaly there was supposed to have an boss for the plasma beam , but it was scrapped at the last moment due to time limitation
I just got into Metroid Prime through the Remastered one, Dread introduced me to this series and GODDAMN am I glad I now know of this masterpiece. This song, Phendrana Drifts, Chozo Ruins and that one another Phendrana song I can't seem to find for the life in me are absolute bop materials.
@@tristanmiller2593 I getcha lol, I've been bopping to Phendrana Drifts Depths (The "Other Phendrana song" I was able to find after A Lot of searching) and Magmoor Caverns for a while now. I'm gonna have to check out the other prime games as well. Any suggestions you can give?
@@megaplays2748 you still need a copy of the game to emulate, the problem isn't the emulator itself but how you get the game that you're gonna emulate,
Dude when i played this for the first time, right when i entered through the elevator, and this came on, i was like “thats a good touch nintendo, that was good”. This and Echoes were amazing
@Glaciartest it already exists and I played it. You pop tge trilogy rom into Cemu with a pc capable of rendering at glorious 4k. I matched tgis to my hand built transmission line full range speakers.
The rhythmic sticks is such a fitting tune for a lava level. Sounds like a ritual about to take place, which just reminds me of Temple of Doom and that’s not a bad thing at all.
I was quite thrilled to hear this song when I picked up Metroid Prime. This track was undoubtedly my favorite track from Super Metroid back in the day. Was a nice bit of nostalgia.
First time playing Prime through the remastered. My first encounter with the space pirates was in the over-world. Shot first, asked questions later. They’re response? Fly away! I was caught off for a moment, before going along my way, ha.
When my brother was playing Metroid Prime and entered the Magmoor Caverns the first time, we both started smiling and said "Yeah, Norfair!" Ah, good memories. X)
Magmoor Caverns was simply more of a underground series of paths to the different areas of Tallon IV than a fleshed out zone complete with an area boss and other things. It was fun finding certain items here though!
I recently began seriously playing through this game. The game is like one large inter-connected Zelda dungeon with different themes, which just so happen to be my favorite types of temples. (Ruins, Fire, Ice, etc.) Aka like Zelda with guns 7.8/10
For those of you who haven't already known, Metroid Prime trilogy is available for download on the Wii U eShop for 20 bucks. Go and get it now! So far I've finished Prime 1 and thought it was phenomenal.
You got that right. Just imagine what super metroid would be like if they completely revamped it with a hd quality recorded orchestra playing the tracks...
OK! Let's play Metroid Prime again, I wish to experience the awesomesamus that is Nindendo's and Retro's work! *turns on Wii and inserts Metroid Prime Trilogy*
@morphavolo I love the way that in the older games like Metroid Prime 1&2, and in ResiEvil it was never linear. You always had to find a way to get somewhere, and then go back to find where that somewhere was. Halo and CoD are both just: progress and kill everything in sight....
It's been nearly 10 years since I've played this game and I remembered it purely by chance only a few days ago when a housemate was playing this game... The nostalgia.
bob cole Prime was actually the scariest for me, and I think it was largely because of how alone you were on Talon IV. On Echoes, you knew there had been Marines there before you, along with the Luminoth. I had trouble believing Corruption was a Metroid game at first simply because there were living, speaking creatures that weren't trying to kill me, and then I even went on to actively cooperate with them. That said, the long underwater part of Echoes in the bog and the derelict spaceship you had to go back and forth between in Corruption were both nightmarish for me.
zayno16 Yeah keep saying that until you reach the GFS Valhalla......the only time I was ever truly scared in a Metroid game. That, and Metroid Fusion when you learn about the SA-X....
fraroc I think the GFS Valhalla might be the derelict spaceship I was talking about. I'd actually forgotten about the SA-X, but now that I remember...ugh.
+fraroc the SA-X scarred the living shit out of me, that alien parasite mimicking that Earth Human in that terrifying power suit chasing after me was just God awful
As a long fan of the series. I was almost too hype when I first went through Magmoor Caverns and heard this theme playing. It was basically the perfect remix to the mirrored environment of Norfair from Super Metroid
Mat the Speed Star It actually kinda does. The first two or three rooms in Magmoor have a stripped-down version of this theme that's mostly just the lower parts of the chorus with a slower drum track, which kicks into full once you get past those rooms. A perfect build up, in my opinion.
If you go back and play the game, Samus' gun bobs with the rhythm of the music. You'll be watching for it every time you play from now on. You're welcome.
This is one of my favorite tracks to listen to. The others I like include the Item Acquisition Fanfare, Tallon Overworld (Main Theme), Artifact Acquisition Fanfare, The Metroid/Chozo Ghost Theme, the Space Pirates theme, and the Flaahgra Boss Fight.
You beat that giant worm plant freak, you feel as if nothing can touch you now that your shoulders are massive and epic. You eventually come across a elevator, you scan, it leads to a place called Magmoor caverns. You descend into the caverns, you emerge from the elevator. You take your first few cautious steps in the caves, because no matter how big your shoulders are the caverns still feel savage. You find a save point THANK GOD. After you save you go forth into the caverns prepare yourself.
i love the metroid games cause my husband plays them and the music so calming it puts me to sleep. i love how the beats are to the music of these games are it feels like i'm not on earth anymore!!!!
