I got this game last week and its difficult for me of where to go. i never owned the first prime on gamecube, but on remastered its outstanding. Great Job.
I love this game, I love the remake, and I'm just so impressed by people's mastery and execution in speed runs. outstanding gameplay. thank you for the entertainment!
And as soon as you reach metroid prime you're on him like white on rice and you're chasing him down into the pit, hes got a target on his back and the chase is on!
I was thinking, "wow, this speedrun actually looks like something I could do" and then you did that *thing* to get Ice Beam Also love your just lack of respect for the Space Pirates
Any tips for the jump at 23:20? I want to get a e-tank in HoTE and that jump keeps killing all my attempts. Im not even speedrunning, just doing this for fun.
That's not how it works in the original game - they did a good job of keeping all the upgrades independent from each other. But idk about the remaster.
Control scheme choice seems a bit weird though. Dual-analog + gyro enabled should be faster. It allows for much better movement. Switch Dpad for beam and visor so that you hold a button to switch visor. You can still switch without standing still if you quickly switch to claw-grip to switch visors.
@@reyalsdiortem4164 Nah, you're wrong. I've seen your entire run and you could literally save minutes by using dual-stick + gyro compared to the slow-ass turning that's constantly present in the run. That's not to say I could do anywhere close to as good. But having played years with the dual-stick + gyro method through various games and 100%-ing this game with it, it is pretty easy to notice where you could save time using that control scheme. Though... it would take some practice. But it's very comparable to keyboard & mouse in terms of speed and accuracy once you do get used to it.
@thenonexistinghero I respect that. I would love to see you speedrun this game! You could already save several minutes over my time using dual stick + gyro, and push the WR even further, which would be awesome. That’s up to you tho. I’m gonna stick with pointer controls
Is it possible to charge shot repeatedly without having to fire a few beam shots first? That's my one gripe about the remaster is there's seemingly no input buffering like there was in the original titles.
@@Deepestdrip Perhaps, but even if there is a patch, a lot if not most of the glitches used in the run would be patched out. So in the context of Any% speedruns, buffered charged shots wouldn’t be worth the sacrifice of the glitches :/
@@reyalsdiortem4164 to add to this, in most speed run communities, most games are played in their release versions anyway, to keep the records comparable
@@reyalsdiortem4164you can definitely do it. I noticed you could easily shave 1-2 minutes or more off your current record. Areas to work on will require faster boss battles including Ridley, less back tracking, more speed, more enemy avoidance and consider getting the morph ball first, instead of the missiles in the very beginning. Overall very impressive speed run. 👍
That is something I have never heard from a speedrunner, but it also seems interesting that the Ice Beam is the most recognized weapon for abuse... I have no clue what I just got done saying...
I don't know how you can put up with using pointer controls for a speedrun, even in my casual playthrough I got sick of how quickly they drifted off no matter how I tried to calibrate it (with 2 different sets of joycons, including a brand new set) and needing to constantly press the ZR button to recentre it got old very quickly. Kinda sad how the 15+ year old tech with the Wii Remote in the Prime trilogy worked better than new tech. I got sick of it and ended up switching back to the classic GC controls. Are you just constantly pressing ZR the entire time?
Go watch a Prime 1 (Trilogy) speedrun and it’s hilarious how much more movement and gunplay potential they have compared to Remastered. Still, the game has never looked better.
I like to keep each section roughly 5 minutes long, it’s just a personal preference When it’s highlighted in blue, it means that is the current section I’m on
Unfortunately the game locks you out of one of the artifacts (same in MP2:E btw). Iirc the Phazon Elite's capsule (Artifact of Warrior) can't be destroyed with power bombs until you pick up the main upgrade.
How did you skip the cut scenes for when Samus arrives at Tallon 4 and skip the escape scene leaving where you lost the power ups. I beat the game 3 times and could never skip little scenes
what does bf mean in ibbf? ibbf =ice beam bf. seeing this makes the remastered version easier than the GC pal version. had so much trouble with the omega pirate XD
@@reyalsdiortem4164 now that i think of it, it is. never did the speedrun on the GC pal version since it i couldn't get SJ. heard it was impossible to get SJ right when you land on tallon IV on the pal version.
I never played casual you should be ashamed of yourself. I can’t watch this video… I want to watch it. I want to enjoy it, but I can’t. I don’t care how fast you can do it. Chances are I can do it just as fast this is the only game in my entire life. I have not been able to beat on the most extreme difficulty, I will watch someone play on the hardest difficulty but I can’t watch this.
