Katowice is the first Polish city to attract the creators of the "Metropolitans" program from the EuroNews network.
EuroNews is a common news television for the European Union, broadcast in seven languages and financed from the EU budget. Since January 2008, the "Metropolitans" program has been presenting outstanding European cities - before Katowice, viewers could see showcases of Manchester, Dusseldorf, Gijon and Lyon.
The topic of the Katowice episode is the past and future of the city. Therefore, next to Nikiszowiec, the center reconstruction project was presented. Thanks to it, when completed in 2020, it will be one of the most modern places in Europe.
In addition to famous Silesians such as Genowefa Grabowska, Tomasz Konior and the mayor of the city, Piotr Uszok, the film also features young students who hope for changes.
