Writing this in 2024, this was the peak of my life. The 2015 Mets gave me so much life, with so little. This 2024 team is giving me the same feeling. The amazins are coming again.
There is the very real possibility we get a subway series!! That would be an absolute BLOCKBUSTER all around the world. Last year’s World Series between the Diamondbacks and Rangers did not get good ratings. As a Yankees fan, I really want a subway series and I hope it happens!!
I'm writing this in 2018. I don't understand why, its just something I can't help, but I'm hystericly crying rite now, I'm crying an ocean as I watch this video again but trying to be silent tho, I need to keep it down, it's 2am and my family is sleeping in the other room. I LOVE THE METS SOOO MUCH, I LOVE THE METS FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND ANY MET FAN READING THIS, I LOVE YOU TOO CAUSE WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER !!!!!!
Nomatter what i desire the best for him. I dont know if he would like it in the yankees, hes definatly more of a Mets guy i mean... i could be wrong about all this but the yankees organization seems very controlling and doesnt let the players be themselves or make themselves at home. They got this "we need to decipline you" mentality. When Daniel Murphy back in 2015 went towards the fans and held their "7 train Met flag", the people loved it how he got involved and showed love, the yankees probly would have punished him for that. Aaron Judge write a tweet about Manny Machado would be nice as a yankee and the yankees want to "discipline" him. The yankees has givin Dellin Betances a hard time in the past as well... idk i could be wrong about all this, maybe im ignorant to what really goes on or why they do certain stuff but Daniel Murphy should definatly come back to the Mets. Daniel Murphy believes in Jesus Christ, if daniel was to mention Jesus Christ during an interview... the yankees would probly "discipline" him to try and mold everyone to their standards like they want everyone to be soulless robots or something but then again i could be wrong about all this and btw i think youtube decided to delete the interview from 2015 post season when Murphy gave the glory to Jesus Christ as for the reason why he been performing very well. Yea they try and offer the highest amount but its at the cost of sacrafising certain freedom. If i was in MLB i would want to be with a team where i can be myself. Maybe the guys in the yankees understand all this and they are like "hey you know what, i'll take the money and play for this team and while im in uniform i will conform to their standards but ones the game is over during my off time i will live as i please" and i get it, thats life its like that in any real job... but for a sport.... that can cause potential not being able to perform well to the best of your abilities because baseball is very mental and playing for the yankees in NYC... if you "mess up" you gotta hear it from the organization and the fans so thats double directions and thats why i beleive certain great talents that has went to the yankees in the past were not able to perform well while they were a yankee but when they went to another team they did excellent. idk maybe im wrong about all this but nomatter what i desire the best for Daniel Murphy and i would love for him to come back to the Mets. Yankees would want him only for how hes been learning how to play, Mets would love him even if he messes up.
People always ask me why im a mets fan but they dont understand the emotional rollercoaster you go on and how good it feels when we win. You just become so attached to the players because they actually appreciate their fans. This was one of the best times of my life
We Mets fans have souls. That’s why we care so much. Yankees fans winning means nothing to them. They act like they’re entitled to it. We Mets fans cherish it
I'm dead serious...although T.J Rivera is a great pick! Conforto is probably there most feared hitter, and Cespedes...but not in the clutch. They'll most likely strike out. Wilmer is clutch....especially in the late innings. I think he has more game winning hits and home runs than the other Mets. Most of all, he really wants to be a Met, and to me, that's the guy I want at the plate because he won't choke.
I could cry at how these magical seasons are so far a few. I know they'll have another chance one day, it's just hard to accept it could be awhile again.
no Mets fan will ever forget this season or where they were when they found out about the Cespedes trade. We also will never forget how we felt that feeling of imminent doom when that ball dropped in front of YoCes for the inside the park homerun
i am from Holland and i will always be connected with the NY Mets from the moment my uncle gave me Dwight Goodens cap after coming home from vacation and visiting a match between the Mets and the Yankees during the 80's
I’m a young kid and I remember I started to get GOOD at baseball in 2015s summer so I started watching my favorite teams games (the mets . I would come home from school ask my dad if the mets played at 7:00 or 1:00 and luckily most of the time it was seven so I could watch most of the game . One night that summer my dad went upstairs I followed . We’re watching the game all of a sudden `Flores drives it deep left center field Taylor back near the wall ITS OUT OF HERE’ . Ever since Flores was my favorite player . When the mets were in the World Series luckily I was on a cruise and I woke up without watching the game . I asked my dad if we won . He said no . I was devastated. I tried to go back to sleep but I’ll never forget my first real season being a real met fan . If you read this whole comment thank you . But this took me a long time so can you please leave a like . #letsgomets
Me 2 I had to download the original video of this which was titled "Tears of Joy 2015 New York Mets" (which got taken down) onto my camera roll. Makes me cry everytime. Let's Go Mets!!!!!!!!
Here are the facts about reyes the virus 1)The blue jays were 50-50 when they got rid of Reyes in 2015 they ended up finishing 24 games over 500 that same year. 2)2007 and 2008 biggest collapses in history 3) after the Rockies aquired reyes in 2015 they got 20 games worse that same year. 4)2012 Marlins one of the biggest underachieving teams in MLB history were supposed to compete for playoffs instead finished 25 games under 500 with reyes 5)2013 blue jays were picked to finish with 90+ wins and win AL East instead they finished in last place with reyes. 6)2017 mets underachieving disaster 7)since reyes the virus arrived cespedes has gone downhill Jose reyes is the rare person who is a virus that destroys every team he is on mentally ill bleaching his hair laughing non stop including when the team is losing. His unhealthy personality messes up everyone's timing and makes guys lose urgency without them realizing it. Worst move in mets history bringing back that virus.
I’m 25 and I’ve been a Mets fan for 25 years. It’s been a crazy roller coaster. Everyday game is different. Every play made is completed with everyone crossing their fingers.. I love the Mets though, because I love my father and he introduced me to the most beautifulest thing I know, and that’s Baseball. The only thing I wish for is to see a Mets team win a World Series before it’s my time to go.... I love you Mets, you have never turned your back on me
My dad was at the first ever game at Shea in the 60s. He was so dedicated to this team. He died a few months before this 2015 season started. I thought about him all season and wished he could see what happened. Thank you 2015 Mets. Lets do it again in 2019!
2019, Mets 8 GB out of a playoff spot on July 12 with a 40-51 record. They go on a magical run win 18 of 23 to pull within 1 game of the wildcard with a 58-56 record! 2015 all over again! Ya gotta believe! LGM!
I'm a fervent Phillies fan, but this documentary was amazing. I didn't root for the mets in the 2015 World Series, of course, but it made me appreciate their ride.
I don't know why this comment ticked me off. As a Mets fan I don't like the Phillies, but if the Phillies were in the World Series, obviously I'll be rooting for the NL team to win.
I know right!!! :-) I just hope we don't have to wait another long period of time before something like this happens again. Oh the pain of that WS loss still lingers even now!!
Shame we couldnt win it all, but my god was this season so much fun. I never thought i could experience that level of happiness. I love my mets for life
As a met fan I’m crying watching this. I loved this team and was at the padres game that we blew. I thought all hope was lost but we turned it around. The World Series was heartbreaking but 9 years later we have hope yet again, which will probably result in sadness.
So pretty much being a mets fan feels like getting to the mountain top for a hot second, only to be thrown back down and not be seen for a long time. It has to be hard being a Mets fan. As a Yankees fan you have my respect even though we'll sometimes never cheer for another during the season. I hope the mets organization figures something out because you guys have a small window to pull something off these upcoming years with the pitching staff you have.
This documentary is phenomenal It shows a great story of one of the greatest seasons in Mets history in a great way As a Met fan it's easy to say that, but you really get that feeling in your life when you know something amazing has happened or is happening And a Jim said in the beginning, it was even more amazing because nobody could have expected the events the Mets went through From Opening Day, the Postseason, that crazy week in July, everything This is the greatest documentary in the sports world I could ever see Everyone who helped in this in their interviews Wright, Jim, Terry, it was just great The whole season was something you can't even put into words, and this documentary describes it just fantastically Even though they fell just short, it was still something that was really amazing that nobody thought could ever happen Once again, this was a great documentary, and a great story about the New York Mets 2015 season
this season was so magical i was a true met fan and i wanted them to win the world series because my grandma died...... i was crying on how this season played out
Losing David Wright and Daniel Murphy makes me wanna cry as a met fan Murphy was unforseen i couldnt believe what he has become although it helps batting behind Harper, and Zimmermann
akiva hoffman how long have you been a baseball fan Wright was the best player in baseball from 06-09. Murphy was not as good but he was clutch and would get hits
Glad to know I wasn't the inky one hearing that messed up audio. I thought I was going nuts or something was wrong with my cell phone when I kept hearing the same damn thing over and over again!! There's only so much of Mike Francessa's voice I can stand!! Lol.
writing this after a pretty routine loss to nats in ‘22. Everyone’s been excited early this season- maybe a little too excited- idk I’m hoping this year will really be something special. If Lindor and Marte can start hitting like Alonso, and McNeil can keep it up we should have a reliable block of guys who will score a few runs every other inning most games. Who knows how 2022 will shake out- there’s a lot of season still ahead of us- but hey, ya gotta believe.
Final remark: Everyone knows the importance of Cespedes in 2015, but many don't realize the importance of Kelly Johnson, Juan Uribe, Tyler Clippard and Addison Reed. Each came over during an in-season trade and gave the team veteran leadership and legitimacy
Writing this in Feb of 2023. Hoping we can get there this year with Steve Cohen as the owner, Billy Epler as the GM and one he’ll of a team. Side note, what happened to the last 3-4 mins of this documentary? Bit of a loop of audio that did not match the video. Very odd.
Well, also Familia blowing game 1 trying to quick-pitch, and the Murphy error in game 4. Cant just look at the Harvey situation and blame that game as the reason why the Mets lost the World Series.
@Jack Elliott If it's within the rules why wouldn't you do it, he obviously wasn't trying to break his leg, if you follow Utley's career you will find that he would never mean any ill will towards another player.
The interesting part of this is that ESPN and MLB RUSHED to push these out BEFORE a single video for the Kansas City Royals. It was like both ESPN AND MLB could not or would not except that Kansas City beat the Mets. Crown the champion FIRST ESPN and MLB
Nicholas Troiano Having Frazier and Bruce back! We need to stay healthy and we are going to be back in the World Series! I predicted the Mets were going all the way in 2015 and it happened! 2018 is the year!
Brian Delgado Royals tried again after 2014 and became better in 2015 but only their marches are tougher in the playoffs. So could be the same with the Dodgers except try again with another 100+ wins but it’ll get tougher in the playoffs including the Cubs which they are NL’s favorite team. Predictions: ALDS: Yankees vs. Red Sox ALDS: Astros vs. Indians NLDS: Brewers vs. Dodgers NLDS: Cubs vs. Nationals ALCS: Astros vs. Yankees NLCS: Cubs vs. Dodgers WS: Yankees vs. Cubs (a chance)
And that had to be the year they go to The World Series The year the other team was DESTINED to win What did they win 5 games that post season where they were down multiple runs in the 7th inning on? That happens what twice a season? If you can do that once in The Playoffs it's a miracle they did it 5 times? That World Series was decided when The Earth was first formed That is the only way something like that can be explained
Arthur Prior I was at game one when Gordan homered off of Familia in the bottom of the ninth to tie it. Then watched improbable plays where the Royals tied and took the lead in the eighth and ninth innings in two of the four next games. Being a Royals fan that a year earlier had my heart ripped out in game 7 of the World Series, I was absolutely thrilled to have won in that fashion throughout the playoffs in 15. It was a performance that may never be repeated by any team in the postseason. I wish it would have been against the Cardinals or the Giant's, but the Mets ran into the Royals, a team that would not be denied. I highly respected the Mets for making it to the World Series and will be rooting for them in every game, as long as it's not against the Royals.
Astros had their foot on the Royals throats in gm4 of the ALDS in 2015... Up in the series 2-1 with a 4 run lead in the 6th & blew it... KC had an excellent team those two seasons and could have easily won the year before with runners on in the 9th in gm7 vs SF... Of course small market economics ended their run Cain is in Milwaukee Hosmer is in SD Mustokis is gone ect...
Looking back at 2015, the Mets never deserved to make it that far, but they fought through it all the way to the world series. And they ran out of gas. I accepted it, because it do be like that sometimes.
It’s 2019 and this is the first time I watched this in a couple years... just crying a river rn... ik we can do it and there’s nothin more that I wanna see is my idol David Wright win a ring and people like Juan largares, Michael conforto, degrom, snydgard, and matz get back to a World Series and kick some ass
