Arrest was a franchise caliber player with for the beginning of his career. He was athletic strong large sf that had fundamentals and play both sides of the ball and team bball. He was beast in nyc all through rec and highschool. He just had ptsd and anxiety from growing up in queens bridge. When he was like 11 a dude got killed in front of him at an outdoor ymca basketball tournament. A dude broke a leg off a table and stabbed throw the other guy on the side of the court. The tournament continued and had to play with the dead dude just laying there and while his body got picked up the eats and police.

I had Finals parties back then, and i remember two things in that game 7. There was a point in the game when Kobe got fouled hard and hit the deck and the Lakers were down by a few points but could not get stops to close the gap and tie it or take the lead. Kobe sat on the floor for literally a second or two and the look on Kobe's face was "I don't think we're going to win this series". Jordan Farmar went over to him and helped him up with this intense look on his face like "get up, cause we're not through yet", and the cameraman caught that moment and I was grateful because it shows the players human side. Everyone has fears of not coming through in the big moments of life. Kobe was not shooting well in that game. He was like 6 for 24 or something like that. The other moment was when Artest made that shot. I spilled everything I was eating and drinking all over the floor. I went berserk! I'm not a crier, but I came close. I did, however, cry when Jordan did after that 96 ring, the one after his dad died. Hit me deep back then.

Nobody shot well that Game 7. It was a 83-79 slugfest. What won that game was rebounding. Lakers outrebounded the Celtics 53 to 40. Kobe knew what was going to win that game when shots weren't falling and grabbed 15 rebounds as a 212 pound shooting guard.

Not even his best passing play. That crossover to that spin move around S-Jax and pass to Turiaf shows kobe could toy with defenders not only while trying to score but playmaking. The pass to Artest showed Kobe was willing to do anything/ everything to win another championship. He was shooting the ball well and kobe not being gun shy even knew forcing any shot would be a detriment. Either way, Artest came up huge and glad Boston didn't get the Lakers again.
