I carry 1911 with a 2.0 lbs trigger and no safety. No grip safety. Cocked. I carry it right next to my colostomy bag from the last time I shot myself. I think it was a fluke.
Mexican Carry was originally done with single action revolvers. No danger at all. Also using a double action revolver is safe as well. Carrying a Glock like that - well...Glock leg anyone?
Doby Pilgrim I understand if you pull the hammer back it locks. and if you pull the hammer halfway it stays halfway . but there is a sweet spot in which the hammer doesn't lock and hits the primer.
Butter Finger If a person is a moron, maybe. I know of zero examples of this happening because of a shirt. Ever. Plus the hammer has to come back all the way to get the revolver into battery. Period. "Fanning" is maybe what you are thinking of. In that case the trigger is depressed and the hammer is released by the thumb. No matter what, the trigger has to be depressed for the gun to fire. Like I said, you don't have much experience with single action revolvers. Sorry.
As a Mexican I approve and appreciated your lesson. I concealed ever since I bought my first handgun when I turned 21. I concealed IWB with my M&P Shield 9mm. Hopefully and wishfully I will never be involved a shoot out or any threat out there be safe people !
Obama let me in..? Haha well let's just say im not Mexican as i claimed but as an American that family are from Mexico. I seen few here and there cowboys riding horse using the old fashion "Mexican Carry", when I visit Mexico (Friendly people) Heck, even Federal Police are doing it too. Now, thinking bout it. I've seen Mexico citizens opening and carry, freely, than Chicago when I visit there 5 times in this year. The sad part is Mexico has stricter laws on gun than Chicago do. What's up with that?
Everyone can you please stop debating it's not worth it. There's a bigger problem with our rights and we are here debating who's racist. YM comment may be offensive to others but to me it wasn't. It's not the time to debate it out. Our rights must be restored and respected.
I'd like to say 2 things. 1. I "Mexican carry" "naked carry" the majority of the time because I'm a fit slender guy and normal wear tightly fitted "skinny" jeans and it's the most compact less bulky way of concealing the weapon. 2. even tho you wre against this way of carrying I'm glad you gave a very none bias review. Truly shows how helpful and genuine your opinion is. Thx for that. subbed.
It’s such a risk man, unless you’re carrying without one in the head, in which case it’s basically a dead man’s gun and useless anyway. You can get a trigger guard clip holster, it’s basically just a trigger guard with a clip to hook to your belt like a holster and it basically allows you to carry your gun “naked” but still safely with the absolute most minimal amount of extra bulk/weight from a regular holster. I know I’m a few years late to the comment section on this one, so hopefully you’re still alive and didn’t shoot yourself in the leg between your comment and now. Stay safe, mane 🤙🏻
I agree with Mike Taylor. When I was young in monterrey I .Always carry a.22 revolver in my waist and I never have a problem .my belly helps to keep the gun in his place. Saludos desde chicago.
It really depends on your body type and how tight your pants/belt are. That was my first mistake when I first started appendix carry (belt too tight). IMHO, it's the most comfortable and "combat efficient" way to carry. 1. Your pistol is in front and easily defended. 2. You can draw your pistol without having to stick a hand behind your back or side (on your back or against a wall, you can still easily draw your pistol). 3. More efficient/faster draw. 4. Easily accessible sitting in a car. ect
I actually bought one a while back. Started selling them on consignment at my buddy's gun store. They really started selling pretty well because people like feeling like a gangsta only safer.
@@MKahn84 i see that but not a lot of people did that. some people would rather that 1 extra round then to be safe. even some wild west characters you've heard of knew this rule however didnt follow it because they thought they would need the extra round instead of actually reloading.
I have mexican carried before. I am pretty poor and it took me months and months to save up to get my first pistol (start saving when I was 20 to get my ccw when I turned 21). I have been carrying for about a year now and still haven't bought a full "holster' I do have a neoprene sleeve that goes over the gun and has a belt clip on it so the trigger can't be pulled anymore but when I was just carrying with the pistol and my belt I would cant the pistol and just sinch my belt REALLY tight. Never had it fall out or it become loose or anything it never moved. Now I do want to get a holster I just need the money. Work a pretty much minimum wage job and trying to help support my family and they come before a holster.
While I may not always agree with everything that you have to say, I always learn something new from watching your vids. That knowledge is power and power is winning.
I love the fact that you have the punisher logo on several of your grips and you have a punisher shirt, that just makes you cooler. I'm a star wars fan so I have the mandalorian insignia on everything.
Thirteen Banger ive carried like that years. If appendix carrying with a glock, watch imma get all the "experts" all worked up. I carry a glock appendix only when its not one in chamber. Had to draw it once from appendix carry not chambered. 2 pits rand down the road at me and my mom. Just gotta practice the shit outta draw and rack. I like the appendix carry tucked in shirt, have a sweater with snaps. Easy to tear away and you are still in the under 4 second draw and on target. Probably gonna have some dunce whose seen john wick too much blast me in the next comment.
Not sure if anyone else has already said this but, if you Mexican carry, which is my favorite, I use the mic slic holster in addition to a clip draw that can attach to your gun. With both of those, the trigger is protected and the gun won't slide around when you're bending and stuff. Great combo and both are easily found on Google for purchase. Just my advice for you other Mexican carries!
Thanks for clarifying the term "Mexican carry'' for me, I especially liked the fact that you shared a little history in your presentation. I have subscribed and look forward to more informative and amusing vids.
TheYankeeMarshal Nah, "And knowing is half the battle" would have been far more applicable, plus you could have made a joke about the GI Joe's never actually hitting anything.
I use to mexican carry my PT111 until one night I went out to dinner and it fell out on a very hollow sounding wooden floor. Yes it was extremely embarrassing since I`m pretty well know in my town and having 25 people turn around and watch me pick my pistol up off the floor, then later that night I received a phone call from my cousin who is PD to ask me what happened ? Never again ! The next day I bought a thin inside the band holster. It never happened again....While this was a great video sadly we live in an age where you felt the need to spend the first half of the video trying to convince your viewers you`re not some racist instead of just explaining what mexican carry is and getting to the point of the mic holster ..Just my 2cents
4days ago exactly 4:00am I was heading to pick up my brother up from work and the van I was driving in was making weird noises in the back so I pulled over next to a light pole to check it out. Then this white car, four door was driving slow towards me. I was out of the van awhile the van's slide door is open. I was nervous but managed to look straight into his eyes. He starting to drive slower next to me so I reached down to my waist. And he drove off and stopped like four house down. I assumed he lived there. So I hurry up, closed the door and try to hop back in the van. Then he made a U-turn and drove fast as he can and pulled up next to me. I quickly reached and pulled my gun out then his ass take a good glimpse and took off. I saw two people in the car. One of them was driving and the other at the back seat. No one was in the passenger seat. I was scared even though I had one on me. When problems come near me I'll do my best to avoid it. In this case however I have no where else to go. First case I ever pulled my gun out hopefully my last. #CarryForProtection.
William S I was Mexican carry at that only night. I couldn't find my holster for that gun since I was in a hurry to get somewhere. I forgot a crucial point
Jonathan Escobedo ive had to pull my gun twice, first was in my own home, second was at a gas station. Yea people think that they'll be all confident and focused and dont realize that when a group (at the gas station is was 5 guys) of guys approaches you with whats obviously dangerous intent, in the average persons mind it doesnt seem so scary if you have a gun but when you are just minding your own business, and next thing you know 5 hispanic guys surround you at the gas station out of nowhere your heart is pumping so hard you can hear it and you just pray that you dont get shot knowing that at ANY moment a bullet could find its way into your skull and you'll never see your family or friends again. Luckily ive never had to shoot my gun at anyone though. At my house i held him at gun point until the cops showed up (then moved away afterwards) and at the gas station they all scattered like cockroaches.
I carry a G29 and several years back, I come across a clip-on style retainer mod, for Glocks. The kit comes with a drilled and taped backing plate for the slide and a "L" shaped spring steel clip piece with a 2 screws and Allen wrench. You remove the upper, replace the factory backing plate with the new one. Then, simply screw the "L" shaped steel to the new backing plate and done. The L shaped clip mod, is good for any wast band or pocket, w/without a belt, inside or outside and configurable for both Lefties & Righteies. It can be screwed into place running down both sides of the slide. For my 29, It does not effect the ejection of spent brass, when screwed to the right or ejection side of the slide, as tje "L" clip is about 3" long. It is really a simple and brilliant design, adds almost no weight and no added bulk. Allowing you to grab your Glock and go. I am sure by now it has caught on and almost any pistol with a hammerless style backing plate. Has this clip-on style mod, available for that pistol. If not, make a trip to your favorite gun dealer of choice. Then, pick up the best lead & copper spitting beast known to man aka: The Glock. Then, choose the thug/zombie stopping caliber of your dreams, purchase the "clip" mod and carry comfortably hence on. Fyi, I do not carry a chambered Glock, unless its in my conventional holster.
I used one of those, the last 5 years before I retired, pocket carrying. They're great. The only draw back is, with pocket carry, you need to put a longer string on it, so that the gun sits in the proper orientation in your pocket.
Bookafrmlildurksbed that might be 1 second that you DON’T have to spare... under a high stress event the last thing I want to do is fumble around with my gun and knowing my luck the gun would jam while racking. Moral of all that is I always carry with a round chambered
I'm Mexican and I approve this message haha I usually carry @4 o'clock (behind right hip) Mexican style.....my belly gets in the way if I try to carry up front....too many tacos lol Trump 2016!!!!
I am 73. I began Mexican carrying a 1911 at age 15. Used holster while in the Navy 64 to 68. After 68 I also ran a HP Mexican carry for years. At some point started using Sig 220 also Mexican carry. Been running a Sig 226 in .357 Sig for years now... Mexican carry. The safety features of these pistols allowed me to Mexican carry them comfortably and safely. At some point I discovered Clipdraw, a product that facilitates Mexican carry. I use holsters when I carry polymer pistols.
I don't have a problem with Mexican carry, African carry or even Caucasian carry but the real name of this type of carry is "Belly gun" or "Belly carry".
I have that device and use it in conjunction with a Glock "clip" that attaches to the slide and allows the handgun (Glock 19 in my case) to clip to the inside of belt or waistband. The combination negates the two issues mentioned. Allows to carry in various positions like 4 O'clock, appendix, or "Mexican" carry. A very minimalist method to carry.
The mic clips are also good to wrap around your manual seat adjustor in your car if you need to keep your gun close and accessible while driving. If you were to add a small locking gun safe to the floor of your drivers seat (where I never put my feet anyways) you would have a decent safe to leave your gun in temporarily. The gun safes often have a metal wire that would also wrap around the seat lever. I colored the chrome lock black, and this was a great alternative to a glove box gun, especially for valet parking. Be sure to check for wires underneath the car if you decide to permanently mount the safe. I bought the smallest safe I could, only held my subcompact and one extra mag.
Not into firearms but my brother is. And he Mexican carries. Definitely going to buy him this little gem. So, thank you so much for sharing this video!!!
I had tried that for a while but I did use a product called the clip draw on my Glock so it never fell out. Also I used something called a trigger block made by the same company as the clip. But the product you show here looks better so I will look into it. Thanks for the info and history.
My wife's ancestry is part Irish. How dare you insult her by racist comments, calling that holster a Mick holster!!!??? RACIST! You'll be hearing from our lawyer, soon!
Matthew Robinson well although i would argue that the glock 19 is probably one of the greatest handguns to ever be produced, at least im not one of the speds (special eds) that couldnt see the clever sarcasm in your original post
Great video. An even better history lesson . Being half Mexican American. I was curious about what was Mexican carry ? Very cool product too . keep up the good work ..
I've carried like this for years, because I had no luck finding a holster that had good concealment and was comfortable to wear. Either it looked like I had an alien growing out of my hip or it felt like an alien was trying to borrow into my hip. I picked up a Vrsacarry holster not too long ago I believe that this holster is the best of both worlds it's comfortable and not bulky. Plus it keeps the gun retained and in one spot and it has a outside trigger guard to keep AD's from happening
great vid. I have Mexican carried between my pants (wait band) and utility belt and my XDS fits perfect. covers the trigger and holds it well. that being said, i use my hostler 98% of the time because i moved far, far away from southern California...
as was I, that was the only reason i suggested it. the MIC holsters look like they would offer better trigger protection, but they do lack any sort of retention and the versacarry will stay in place while running (tried it myself to be sure). i was always told that it's best to avoid a fight if at all possible, if not don't let the aggressor walk away from it.
I was originally born in Mexico and I would see people carry guns like this. I had no idea of the culture behind it. Cool history lesson thanks. I’m now an American and I carry with a holster as a proper American😂
Brother, I know exactly what you mean because I hear the same shit all the time when I talk to people about the custom Mexican Single Loop & Mexican Double Loop Holsters I've been making for several years now. I have to explain to every one of them that a "Mexican Single/Double Loop Holster is the actual tradition name for that type of holster. It's amazing how many truly ignorant people there are out there who claim to be highly educated. Great video presentation and the history lesson on real Mexican titles like the Mexican Carry, and hopefully some will pick up on the true title of Mexican Single/Double Loop holsters I mentioned?
for those people who worry about carrying with a round chambered either striker or cocked and locked hammer fired should try putting a snap cap in the chamber and carry as you normally would, doing your normal activities, then at the end of the day check if your weapon has discharged.
I know this is an old video but I use this hoster daily to carry at work. I wear a tucked-in shirt and the two strings from the holster can be tucked behind your belt loop making it near impossible to be noticed carrying. my company has a dont as don't tell policy when it comes to being armed but literally, no one knows I carry and it been a few years. I highly suggest looking into this if you need to make sure no one sees your firearm at work.
I liked the way you did this video TYM, I never knew that history of Mexican Carry before. I have learned something new today. Mission Accomplished! *LOL*
Pretty funny, yet also addressed an important topic! Another choice is Mexi-Israeli carry...IWB but without a chambered round....pull gun, rack slide, engage. It's nice to have options. Enjoyed your video!
I was in the gun store the other day talking to some old guy(about the same as me) about guns and holsters. He said he was tired of carrying his gun “in an old sock”. He then reached into his front pants and pulled out a 1911 in literally an old sock. I didn’t wait around to see if it was cocked and locked.
I had a G19 fall out in a hippy owned music store some years ago. The young man I was talking to nearly freaked out. The owner knew me and just laughed. Taught me a lesson.
Have you wore one of these all day ? Are they secure with moving around ? No chance of the trigger guard coming off while carrying? Also , the olden cowboy days they also did a form of Mexican Carry but did it open carry, it wasnt like Bonanza or Big Valley where everyone had shiney leather holsters , many just tuct their revolver between their belt because holsters were very expensive.
