mstrdiver 1 second ago I've fished with Captain Kevin Beach since before 2000. Kevin earned on his Master's degree from LSU while running fishing charters from Venice and Cypress Cove marinas to earn a living to pay for school, marry and now has a son. They didn't just magically afford these Freeman boats but worked themselves into a position where they could afford these superb fishing machines. They've sweated through very bad times after Katrina hit in 2005 [we were scheduled with Kevin the 1st September weekend after Katrina] but Venice was underwater and without power for most of a year. Then they had the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster offshore, using their boats to string petroleum booms, or run clean up crews to shores and marshes from Grand Isle to Biloxi, sometimes barely scraping together enough boat and truck fuel to get to where they were needed, as you can imagine that promised state and federal government disaster payments weren't always the most timely or immediately on hand when needed. They also sometimes struggled with less than quality coworkers [fellow captains] or local area 'company 'owners' that weren't very good business managers who in several cases ran out their financial strings in Venice before tucking tail to leave the area with unpaid debts behind. I can mention names but it doesn't make the struggle that remained after these folks left any easier for Billy and Kevin along with others to stay in business, regaining more satisfied customers and build the Mexican Gulf Fishing Company into a quality service-based business it is today. These guys know the area, the fishing tricks & tools and didn't just pop up with everything handed to them. They bust their butts to ensure that their customers have a great time even if you don't 'limit out' on fish and will continue to do so with each and every charter they make. These guys are consummate professionals, they know their fishery and continue to fight to protect their livelihood and their business model.

@@israelg.3634 - Credit has to be given where it is due. Kevin has always scheduled and been there when promised. I trust the man and rely on his ethics. If I didn't, I'd find someone else to fish with and I always bring a bag of the latest fishing goodies along when my wife and I go offshore with him. Tight lines.
