No matter how many years anyone does No one should ever want to go back & changed or not its fkn prison = lost your right to walk free in society. Plenty folks dont learn their lesson the 1st time & need to go back, but anyone who ever wants to go/wants to go back has an extreme mental illness
Active or even one foot in more than likely you will go back. Non-active and don’t have nothing to do with the old life style the chances of anyone going back are slim to none.

Good advice Jacob , I’m 58 and spent over 34 years in prison and that’s exactly how I always did my time. I like how you said that you won’t be the one people talk about but when they run a check on you they won’t have nothing bad to say. Only if it were that easy. Unfortunately trouble comes your way out of nowhere in there. The mood and energy on the yard is always changing depending on who's on the yard, who's got the yard, how deep the politics are on that particular yard, how much dope is on the yard, whos your celly, what dirty C.O.'s in the mix are on that yard, which organizations are on that particular yard that don't get along. There are many scenarios that will rattle your program. I know many homies that programmed that same way that you explained and caught their life sentence in there behind the cause. Got domed by the C.O. in the tower. Put in work for 20 plus years and got greenlighted cuz they didn't wanna give up their cellphone or shoes to a carnal or didn't wanna blast their celly and are now sitting on an SNY yard, all for what ??!! CDC prison politics will ruin your life if it hasn't got ruined already. For the ones who made it out still Active, consider yourself blessed and hold on to your freedom !!

I'm listening to what you're saying bro and I come from a mixed race family a long way from California, even though the politics is different in many ways so many aspects of being in a maximum security prison environment that are the same everywhere. I've been out for a long time and been blessed to never really need to duck and weave political drama but even before I got out when Suboxone came out and we'd have dry spells for heroin and fairly well known people are dealing over fences, into yards where they might not have an R on Thier jacket but politics dictates they shouldn't even be talking to dude much less doing deals over some filthy rotten strips. Just shows how the politics is just a bunch of BS. I probably won't go back but over a stupid lapse and with my record I can go back to jail over any dumb shit if I'm unlucky and then get sent to a s@#t jail. Even a 6 or 12 month sentence can change the course of your life. I got my girl and the kids to worry about, my Dad is dying, there's plenty of construction jobs around right now but if I go years in between jobs people rightly will ask why. I don't think I would seriously consider asking for PC and I don't have it in me to tell on people but I know this, keeping this good life going with family and friends that I love and really love me in it means a hell of a lot more to me than what a bunch of deaf dumb and blind fools who can't think for themselves think. To be honest most of the younger guys where I'm from call me uncle (I'll be 50 this year) so sometimes I can be a good influence but people who don't know or want to act hard can say what they want but a 6 month sentence can change or end your life man. You always have tread with care, be respectful but you choose your values and who matters to you. My tio went to prison 16 years old, got 9 years , and he then turned into 23 by getting involved in prison politics. He got released and got murdered the 3rd month he was out.
