@@AbandonedMaine Well, the Zapotec language has been written since the pre-Columbian era. What I am doing is reviving the language through social media and my platform. With the alphabet that was created by the zapotec community . I as a grad student can help alongside with my peers create the alphabet visually good so we can share it to the community, most importantly to the kids.

Each village has their own type of Zapotec language..those from the mountains don't even understand those from the valley..crazy !

Im 1st gen 🇲🇽🇺🇲, 25, in highschool i found out about my lineage to the Wixáaritari Nation from my dads side out in Nayarit, got a picture of my great grandpa wearing his Mara'kame/shaman regalia with a M1911 tucked in his waist. The Wixárika people are one of Mexicos untouched people due to La Sierra Madre terrains, i got aunts & uncles that dont speak any spanish, only Wixárika. Been learning & i'll tell you it aint easy! I appreciate this video XiaoMa!🦌

I love mole too. It is kinda hard to describe the taste other than calling out elements in it. But the combination is really what makes it. Mole with fresh tortillas is one of my favorite meals hands down.

It's funny because in that language, "Hello" sounds a lot like "Adios" (or at least how he was pronouncing it) so I kept expecting him to walk away every time he said hello haha

I used to work with some Finnish ladies while in Azerbaijan. The Finnish word for 'yes' sounds like the Azeri word for 'no'. There were some misunderstandings for sure!

Brooo, I’ve been watching Xiaoma since early 2020. Never would’ve expected him to learn the language my ancestors spoke. It’s crazy recognizing some of the words he spoke and seeing him interact with people from neighboring pueblos of my parents. Awesome dude. Keep it going

Mole is a staple in Mexican cuisine and VERY underrated! Chocolate comes from Mexico so this is chocolate in one of the most authentic forms.

So I was just thinking the other day “I wonder if xioma knows about oaxacan language…” I just recently started working around Oakland, CA and I hear “mexican” looking people speak a language that did not sound like Spanish. My coworker told me it was Oaxacan. It sounds so cool when listening to conversations because it sounds like nothing im used to hearing. Thanks for this!
