As a resident of Panama City and an employee on Tyndall AFB, I can tell you that we are all still struggling. Many of us will not have needed repairs done to our homes for many months because of the backlog. Our RV served as our lifeboat for more than a month as we made emergency repairs to our home (roof tarps, electricity, etc.). The damage to our home has served to spur us into making our dream of full-time rving come sooner rather than later. The abiltiy to simply drive away from dangerous storms is priceless.
I never thought about the lack of people to make repairs. It seems like a lot has been done but then it looks like there is SO much more to do. So many people have been affected by this terrible storm. I can’t even imagine what you all must be going through. 🙏🏻💔
I am public adjuster working in Panama City Beach area and have been for months. If I can help you with your insurance claims let me know. I am a public adjuster. I can get you money from your insurance company to do the repairs. I also know a bunch of contractors I can get you. Message me. Thanks Sean
As a former resident of Apalachicola, FL (2007-2008), it saddens me to see the devastation incurred on the "forgotten coast". My wife has family in Apalachicola. I cannot tell you how many times I've driven on US 98 into Panama City. My wife and I enjoyed going to Toucan's Bar and Grill near the El Governor hotel. I understand that it is gone too. May God bless the citizens of this area. Our hearts go out to all of you.
Agree with all the other comments and the both of you. It's good to see all the clean up and great work that's been done in Mexico Beach. True no one hears any progress. Thanks for driving through and showing us. Safe Travels!
Thank you for showing life after a hurricane. People forget how long it takes to recover. After nearly 2 1/2 years we are still fixing damage from Irma here in SW Florida. Love your videos!
I really did wonder how long it would take. Even then the economy is probably not back where it was. I really can’t even fathom what you all have gone through. Losing homes, jobs, cars. Heartbreaking!
@@CareyOnVagabond Our particular area did not have anywhere near the devastation that the panhandle experienced, yet it was difficult to get materials & contractors were overwhelmed by demand. Ironically, our economy couldn't be any better now. Part of the reason we bought a small camper, so we can run away from the next hurricane!
Thanks for showing the aftermath of the hurricane . The news these days is such that you never hear about it again . I was particularly worried about your friend in Panama City Beach . Glad he is doing well.
It was hard to show actually. The devastation is just so massive and I just think about how just one family is affected. How long it will take to have a sense of normalcy again. 🙁💔
So very sad. This had to happen at one of the most special beaches in the US. Mexico Beach is my favorite beach on the panhandle. The people are so friendly and places like Toucans are so unique and fun.
Hey guys. Great video. We noticed the devastation in the Panama City Beach area as we drove through on our way back to San Antonio from Tampa. So very sad and devastating for the communities. The beach looked great. Irene we need to buddy up on the craft scene. Those earrings are fantastic. Whenever you are in San Antonio look is up! Rick and Jan.
I WISH you would've driven slower through Mexico Beach. That was our vacation town for 25 years and we are stuck here in Missouri and can't go down there to help. But I'm glad you both are so happy and smiling.
So sorry to see the devastation, but amazing to see the resilience and determination. Lovely snippets of your travel spots. Beignets sound wonderful. Still love those earrings, Irene. The turquoise accents are such a lovely touch. Safe travels. Thanks so much for sharing.
beautiful spot to camp. DANG the devastation from the hurricane is still quite evident. bless you people. our hearts really go out to these people and this area. counts your blessings, everyday. thanks for showing us that. Dave ins shorts, thats the way to go. great music Irene. I don't know if there is ANYWHERE warm enough right now. those are great earrings Irene. Sell them online with Dave's spoons.
Seeing that damage firsthand really hit us. How lucky, fortunate and blessed we are. We have zero problems by comparison. I can’t fathom what they are going through! 😩 Dave’s back in shorts! Probably for the rest of the year. 😂
@@CareyOnVagabond Exactly right Irene. We forget to do grateful for what we have. Of course those folks choose to live there. You couldn't pay me enough. We get earthquakes but I'll take my chance. We careful driving west. It's DAMN cold here now, more winter hanging around. When Dave is in shorts and a tank top everyday then we know you're back in business. Looking forward to it.
Yeah that’s what hit me. We honestly have not seen a thing about it in what seems like a few months. I just can’t imagine what that must be like for the people still there trying to rebuild. 🙁
Wow thanks for sharing. Amazing how it looks like so much has been accomplished but so much still need it needs to be accomplished what a beautiful place to live and travel✌️
You’re right. So much has already been done but SO much more needs doing. It’s something you see and you just want to get out and help. I can’t imagine the heartbreak they are all going through.
You guys did have a great spot! Love watching Pistol run on the beach! As my Paw-Paw would say....she had a large time! So sweet! Love your earrings! Great job! I know my sisters would love them!
Much more debris here, unlike when I was in Pensacola after a storm. This looks like mostly residential area. Pensacola was the remains of concrete buildings full of sand, with piles of the sand on the road waiting to be trucked back to the beach. That was horrifying, but this is much sadder. On a much lighter note, your earrings are beautiful!
Carey On Vagabond I couldn’t believe the damage I saw on I-10 in November and that was well north of the worst hit areas. I’m not looking forward to seeing the devastation, but hoping to visit some local businesses there enroute to put some money back in their economy.
@@CareyOnVagabond In recent years it varies a lot. Everything from no snow to much snow. The heat and snow melt come in March, but it has happened that snow has come in May. And it has happened that there are 70 f in May. Norway is one long country and local varieties are many.
We go to the beach alot but we cant understand knowing that these storms do so much damage why dont they build smaller and stronger structures out of concrete, steel aluminum which would sustain less damage, and which I have seen that many have done and still sanding.
Wow that area still so much damage! Love the earrings ❤️ time for another give away or let us know if we can buy from the website. I'm waiting patiently to put my orders in for a coffee spoon & now a pair of earrings 😊
I finally figured out how to get the stickers on the website (I think 🤞🏼). I’ll probably have some earrings up in a few days. Dave’s gotta get busy with the spoons! 😀
Wow, so sad. And sad to say it will happen again. Earrings are adorable:) make a belt and get a pair of old fashion moccasins oh and a banishment too ;) now that's my kinda fashion! I'll never tire of it lol..I'm just a hippy Peace, love and safe travels.
First of all our hearts go out to the residence of this area for there loss....It's the price you pay for living in paradise which is to high for us. We will visit as much as possible but living in Florida is out for this New Englander. Our son and his wife live in Port Charlotte and every time a storm hits we worry.....and they would love for us to move south...BTW love the beach music .....thanks for taking us a long for the ride.....
We had been talking about moving here right before the hurricane... the price point that we would have been able to buy at would have most likely been demolished. .. a bullet dodged....so wonderful to see things coming back to life.Thanx for showing and sharing. Indian Pass and Cape San Blas are two of my favorite places on earth.
Great coverage of the destruction of Panama.Terrible disruptive of the population there.Nice earrings Irene! Great Pistol action.Enjoy your fish. Thanks for sharing!
Nomadic Fanatic’s buddy “RV Prepare Wayne” lived in Panama City, and Eric did a video of the devastation made by the hurricane....truly sad seeing all the damage that was done ☹️ Lots of good footage of Pistol in this video...me likey 😀 #CareyOn 👍👌✌🏻😎
The damage along the Emerald coast is catastrophic! Two of our friends & their families lost their homes in Mexico Bch & one friend has a severely damaged condo in PCB. So very sad! Irene, I love your earrings! What metal are the posts made of? I love the turquoise/leather combo. You are so talented! I would eventually love to buy a pair! Love you guys..thank you for sharing your videos. ❤
Oh I just can’t imagine having a home there and losing everything. 🙏🏻😭 These posts I’m using now are nickel free. I did pick up some sterling ones to try out too. I know some people have allergies but I wasn’t sure what to get. What do you wear?
See rvprepperwayne channel. He was in the hurricane, lost his house and RV. Fixed his 2nd RV and us doing work in Quartzsite, AZ. Hellava guy. His wife is cool too. Knows engines and rv fixes. Follow his channel.
What insurance????? I wondered about the plight people are in that lived through the Ca. fires; Mexico beach and now the Midwest flooding? The gov has plenty of money to support migrants though!!!
