I was 8 years old when I first saw this flag , driving back home to America with my dad after visiting grandparents..... I was really foggy and you couldn't even see the flag pole ... just the glory of the Mexican flag as it scared the ever living shit out of me seeing something so huge waving threw the fog

I know your post is 3 years old, but I had to comment. I'm an American, and my wife and I honeymooned in Puerto Vallarta. The cathedral there is one of the most beautiful churches I've ever been in! Just being in it made me in awe!
Lewis Dixon It is not a show, it is how in México we demonstrate honour to our flag. It's very important in our country we are tought these things since we are children. I'm glad you could see it! :)
I counted 30 soldiers carrying that flag to its raising, but in Cancun :) This one looks pretty close in size...... the thunder of that flag whipping in heavy winds is quite awesome. I'd say this flag pretty well reflects the pride of all the Latino cultures.

Yes. Every military base has a flag raising ceremony every day. Special Occasions as well. Then they have a lowering ceremony in the evening. Everyone on the post, station, or base participates. When they hear the bugle sound "To The Colors", they are to stand and face the flag, or in the direction of the bugle call if they can't see the flag. Military, and retired military, render the hand salute, while civilians may just stand and face in the proper direction. If you are in a vehicle, and a civilian, you are to pull over and sit respectfully, if military you are to get out of the vehicle and salute. The Mexican and US salutes are very similar if not the same. Other countries have different styles of salute.

Every Monday, all schools in Mexico organize a ceremony with all the students and staff present to honor the flag and sing the national anthem. The flag and anthem are sacred to all mexicanos. We don’t burn the flag!
