👋Hola guys! Please like and subscribe to show your support! ❤️Is the torch relay something you'd like to be part of? 🔥How cute is the baby I met dressed as Juan Diego?! 👶🇲🇽
What a wonderful video, I am Mexican and I am proud that people like you, visit us and feel our friendship and affection, our culture of many years, Thank you in truth, hopefully every day the racial barriers and prejudices that separate the human being are finished , we are all beautiful brothers and this video full of love on your part, is like the HIMNO TO THE JOY OF BEETHOVEN ... a hug and happy day of friendship, I greet you from Villahermosa Tabasco Mexico ... by the way I do not speak nor I write English, I support myself with a translator, sorry if it is misspelled .. thank you ..

We love this video, Eileen! We felt like we were there with you, and were overcome by the collective love. I was in tears, too! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful occasion with us!!!
I am sat here, for the past couple minutes, trying to come to grips with what I just watched. And I was just literally wiping a tear from my eye. Words are almost failing me. Eileen I have so many favorite videos of yours, this is definitely near the top..if not at the pinnacle. Yes, I felt the emotion, I was indeed touched and moved..hence the misty eye...and not only when you held that beautiful baby. My heart was taken throughout. And that music only added to the sentiment. God Bless you guys. I want to give you both a hug.
Thank you so much, Scott! Somehow I missed your comment before - oops! I'm very happy to know you felt the emotion of this celebration as I did. It's a very special time and we felt lucky to be part of it. Hugs back :)
Absolutely amazing.I felt like I was really there for this beautiful event. What an incredible job capturing such an amazing culture. The narration, music and editing was perfect. What a joy it was watching this video. Loved it very much. Viva Mexico.
Literally the best, most beautiful and loving episode you two have ever done! We LOVE this :) Total respect to your heart and passion for your ability to reflect this amazing celebration of faith. One word, WOW. You brought tears of joy to our eyes and heart. Thank you :) James and Kim
Hi guys! Somehow I missed your comment before - oops! I'm so happy you felt the powerful emotions of this special event like we did. I felt so honoured to be in Puerto Vallarta for it and I'm glad that comes through in the video :)
I found myself emotionally taken a couple times during this video. I was struck by the concept of pilgrimage. In my opinion, the dedication to an idea, a faith, a hope; is admirable these days when dedications seem to change with each passing news cycle. We could all do to understand and draw from the underpinnings of this dedication and pilgrimage. Thank you for sharing, Eileen and Marc. We appreciate your sharing your experience.
You do not get anything of value in life without sacrifice, the bigger the goal, the bigger the sacrifice. Can anyone dispute this (religious and non-religious)?
Hi Mylon! Somehow I didn't see your comment until now! I really appreciate hearing your thoughtful reflection about this event and the video. It's truly a special time and I was honoured to be part of it. The energy in the air is really something you don't forget.

Hi Jonathan! Thank you so much! We're so delighted to know you enjoyed our video of this special celebration. We definitely hope to see you again too!! :)
I was there too in December - so moving! The celebrations were apparently even from Dec 1 - 12! So beautifully captured, Eileen! Loved how you shared how touched you were.
This video is the absolute best. It's a giant warm fuzzy and the perfect representation of why I love Mexico. Thank you for sharing your beautiful experience. A visit in December to experience it myself is now on my list.
Hi Krista, I'm just seeing your message now but appreciate it very much. Thank you ❤ The amount of warmth during this celebration is something I'll always remember.
I don't know how to translate this but: Me caes muy bien Eileen! Always with a smile a lot of positivity, you transmit all good vibes... love your videos.
This is such a beautiful tradition. We really enjoyed the footage! It's so nice to see an entire community coming together for an event like this. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for posting this video. You truly captured the essence of the event. I totally get how you felt when you held the baby and got emotional myself. How inspiring to see such devotion and faith. This is one of the best youtube travel videos I've seen (and I've seen a lot). You and Marc put out such great content!
Thank you so much for sharing that! It means a lot to know you felt the emotion of the event, as we did. Meeting the baby and connecting with him and his family was a true highlight I'll never forget. ❤️
Thank you! That means a lot to hear. If you enjoyed this video, I think you'll also really enjoyed this video we made about Holy Week in San Miguel de Allende: bit.ly/semanasantaSMA :)
Hi Eileen, I just watched your video on Antwerp and it was really beautiful to see that you were so moved by that plaque hanging at the harbour. But if you were moved by that I would REALLY reccomend visiting Ypres! It's a Belgian city that was home to some of the worst battles in WW1, with the Battle of Paschendaele probably being the most notorious. The city was completely whiped of the face of the earth and the fields around it were turned into a hellish, apocalyptic landscape. Nowadays the city is completely rebuilt and you can rent a bike and visit the many historical landscapes, such as the famous Hill 60 or Hill 62, where you can still see the craters that were made there over a hundred years ago and even walk through some real trenches. You can also visit some of the amazing war monuments like the breathtaking Tyne Cot cemetery, the biggest war cemetery in the entire world, of any war. There's also (among many more ofcourse) a cemetery dedicated to the German casualties wich are often overlooked because the were "the bad guys", a cemetery dedicated to the Canadian victims and the Essex Farm cemetary, dedicated to John Mcrae, the Canadian medic who wrote the famous 'In Flanders Fields' poem, on that exact place. Another big reccomendation is of course visiting one (or more) of the musea in the area, they are absolutely beautiful! And then last but not least, there's The Last Post. It's a tradation kept alive for nearly one hundred years now, except for a brief period of German occupation during WW2. Every single day at exactly 8 o' clock there is a ceremony held at the Menin Gate called "The Last Post". It is used to commemorate the millions of lives that were lost during this 4 year stretch of complete madness, keeping the spirit of 'Lest We Forget' alive. I hope I haven't killed it with this excessive text, but I have been there myself and it is by far the most mind boggeling experience I have ever had. Nothing quite captures the experience of actually walking through those rows of graves and actually seeing the devestation the War brought with it. I also know that my comment is a bit out of place here on this video, but I just really wanted to make sure you see this because I really think this will be something you'll never forget. Great video's by the way, you earned a new subscriber today! 😊
Hi Victor, I appreciate your message and thank you for subscribing :) I can only imagine what visiting those sites must be like and it's something I'd really like to do. I feel it's important, if one has the privilege and opportunity to go. Thank you for sharing your passion and personal experience here.
You are truly a good person with a very big and open heart Eileen and I'm really glad that I found your channel, respectfully of course......🎩 Keep up the good work and I wish you all the success in the world.......🌎 Cheeeers........👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks! Isn't the crown at the top of the church beautiful?! It's easier to appreciate up close. Plus being able to see how far the enormous street of pilgrims stretches is pretty incredible.
You two make such beautiful, informative, fun, inspiring videos. Thank you!! My daughter and I will be heading to Lake Chapala/Ajijic to visit family in July, then to Puerto Vallarta/Sayulita/etc. and to Baja. So excited to go! Where are you guys going next in Mexico?
That's so wonderful to hear! Thank you :) Sounds like an amazing trip you have coming up in July! This trip to Mexico was just Sayulita and Puerto Vallarta but of course we can't wait to go again! If you have suggestions after your trip I'd love to hear.
I liked video. Which country are you from? And what traditions do you have in your country? I come from a village in Swabian Hungary, and there is a statue of Mary Theresa.I live in Budapest but we visit the village every year.More good rest in Mexico.😉
I'm glad you enjoyed the video :) We are from Canada. Greetings to you in Hungary! Have you seen our Budapest series: bit.ly/BudapestPlaylist. I hope you enjoy it!
That truly makes me happy to hear - thank you ❤️ This was a really special event and I'm also glad we were able to experience it and share it. We made a video about Holy Week in San Miguel de Allende that I think you'd really enjoy as well. It was incredibly special and is actually one of my favourite videos we've made. It's here if you'd like to see: bit.ly/semanasantaSMA :)
This looked like a fun time while you are in Mexico on your trip. This video didn't have Mark in it at all. Hope he is equally enjoying being there as well.
Thank you! If you enjoyed this I think you'd love another video we made about Semana Santa in San Miguel de Allende - it's here: bit.ly/semanasantaSMA Absolutely beautiful celebration.
@@jesuszepeda1062 That's great. Is there anywhere you'd like to visit in particular, aside from the basilica? We've spent a lot of time in Mexico and made a lot of videos if you'd like to see more here: bit.ly/MexicoPlaylist. Lots of amazing places to visit!
Despite Catholic protestations to the contrary, It is difficult for Atheists as well as Protestants not to have the impression that Catholics worship Mary, when they see pilgrims at Fatima or Guadalupe, Medjugorje or anywhere else, crawling on bloody knees toward Marian statues and shrines in order to bow down, kiss and kneel before Mary's statues.
Unfortunately Marc and I have STILL not been to Guadalajara but we really, REALLY want to. Everyone tells us how amazing it is and how much we'll vibe it. We'll definitely get there someday - hopefully sooner than later :)
