MEZQUITIC Santo Niño del Cacahuatito 4K | Jalisco 🇲🇽
Mezquitic de la Magdalena tiene más o menos 3,000 habitantes pero se ha convertido en la tercera población que más peregrinos recibe en la región de los Altos de Jalisco. La razón es un pequeña figura de madera conocida como el Santo Niño del Cacahuatito.
El Niño del Cacahuatito es visitado cada año por miles de personas que llegan hasta el pueblo de Mezquitic para pedirle un favor o simplemente para conocer su historia.
Durante la construcción del pozo se encontraron con la escultura de un niño Jesús que estaba labrada en madera y barro con un brazo sobre el pecho y el otro sobre el vientre, ambos pegados al cuerpo, junto al niño se encontró un manantial que hasta la fecha no se ha agotado por lo que le agradecieron a él el hallazgo del agua y el fin de sus penas y así fue como se construyó la pequeña ermita que hoy es visitada por cientos de turistas.
El nombre de Niño del Cacahuatito nació gracias al señor Francisco Padilla de Luna quien en 1994 empezó a difundir imágenes de este niño que era tan pequeño que lo comparó con un cacahuatito, aprovechando que en el pueblo se cultivan cacahuates.

Mezquitic de la Magdalena has about 3,000 inhabitants but has become the third most popular pilgrimage destination in the highlands region of Jalisco. The reason is a small wooden figure known as "The Holy Child of the little Peanut".
"The Holy Child of the little Peanut" is visited every year by thousands of people who come to the town of Mezquitic to ask him for a favour or simply to learn about his story.
During the construction of the well they found a sculpture of a child Jesus carved in wood and clay with one arm on his chest and the other on his belly, both attached to his body. Next to the child they found a spring that has not been exhausted to date, so they thanked him for finding the water and the end of their sorrows, and that is how the small hermitage was built, which today is visited by hundreds of tourists.
The name "The Holy Child of the little Peanut" was born thanks to Mr. Francisco Padilla de Luna who in 1994 began to spread images of this child who was so small that he compared him to a peanut, taking advantage of the fact that peanuts are grown in the village.
