MFゴースト (MF GHOST) ENDING 1 | GT7 

Following the manga of Initial D Chapter 718, Takumi was consulted by one of the mechanics of Project D to get help to repair his 86 and he refused. In MF Ghost the story says that takumi left Japan at the age of 20 years (1 year after the Shinji battle) but they don't say he brought his 86 to UK. (in fact they say that Takumi was very lost there I don't think he could know about car importation) So i used the Celica which is the most accurate car at the context i could get in GT7, but some people have a theory that the car he could drive when he signed to Toyota was a Toyota Corolla WRC 2000. Also, what Takumi did to the AE86 is different depending on whether you read manga or watched the anime. In the manga, he actually scrapped it (which is just disrespectful IMO). But in the anime, he said he was going to try and save up money to fix it and that if he was able to fix it, he would only be using it for casual driving.

​@@bluesrike That's correct, the manga tries to be more mature in the idea that Takumi left the 86 resting to reach his dream to be the best driver. For the other hand the anime is more sensitive with the audience because the people that only watched the anime made a bond with Takumi and his 86, very complicated that some of the fans accepted the sad fate of the 86.
