Watching you hook that up takes my memory back almost 40 years now to me working in the bush with a 230 Timberjack cable skidder and a Husqvarna 266 XP . -30C , snow up to my belt . 8 or 10 hours of that a day and there was no need for a gym membership or a stiff drink to help fall asleep at night . Bush work isn't all glamour . LOL
That's awesome to hear my video brought back some memories! I never sleep better than after a long hard day logging. Thanks for the comment, that was a nice read ❤️
Hey there, First video I watched and I am impressed. New subscriber here from Montreal Canada and look forward to watching more of your videos from your library. Massey Ferguson tractors, logging , chainsaws and mechanical equipment repair, what a perfect match. Stay safe Dirk
Agreed! One can never have too many straps. I was lucky to score a good assortment of used ones - Just need to account for it, especially when lifting things. I try to always assume the strap WILL break. Thanks for the comment! And for watching of course ❤️
Just found your channel, it looks right up my street, as an amateur logger myself. Thanks for the content look forward to some felling, bucking and yarding. Keep them coming. Regards from Scotland, Ian
That's awesome! It's always fun to hear from fellow like-minded people around the world. Though Scotland is just over the pond, we're basically neighbours! I appreciate the kind words. Thanks for watching ❤
Hello! Vermont is a beautiful place (though i've only seen pictures). That's awesome to hear. Those timberjacks look like very nice rigs, I'd love to try one. Thanks for the comment ❤️
That's awesome! Yeah, they're pretty neat with 4wd, but mine is no match for the proper 4wd models MF offered from the factory. Still found it helps a lot in the woods, compared to 2wd. Thanks for the comment! And for watching, of course ❤️
Love listening to that diesel. Assume that's a Perkins? i have a 1973ish MF165 2wd with a winch that I pull out firewood logs with in NY state. Your MF165 is nicely setup and I enjoy your videos. Thanks, and will look forward to more!
Cool video. Looking forward to seeing you do some logging. I did some logging way back in the day. I had a 225 Timberjack. Curious to see how your Massy does.
Awesome, I would love me a timberjack, that's a real skidder right there!⭐ I'll be going logging soon, once we have some proper frozen ground, shouldn't be too long now! Thanks for the comment, and for watching ❤️
That's a good idea. They are not threaded, but should fit inside eachother regardless i guess. Thanks for the tip, I'll try it! 😊 Thanks for watching! ❤
Yeah it's kind of weird how it's mounted I agree, but that's the way it was when I took it off so I just put it back the same. It could of course have been mounted wrong before I bought the tractor. It's working as intended for now though. Thanks for the comment, and for watching of course! ❤️
That's right. 40-50cc with ~15" bar is very common around here. I like a bit more power and a longer bar. I've been very happy with the 400c saw with 24" bar, I use it for almost everything. Thanks for the comment ❤️
@@woodlandwrench Hei! Dei kalte systemet for fleksomatic i si tid. Samme ramme og bolter til Sesamatic frontlaster. Ville søkt opp noen som hogger gammel Massey. Sikkert noen som har frå ein gammel frontlaster.
Good catch! That's for the pre-heat glow plug, it's not in use at the moment. But the tractor could use some love in various areas, like wiring. Thanks for the comment, and for watching ❤️
Ready to battle a Norwegian winter! Quite the struggle with those hydraulic hoses in the cold. Any reason why the roof is an old tarp and not solid steel?
Yeah we are ready now! In regards to the roof, there's a sunroof which is completely rusted through, so whenever there was rain or melted snow, I would get a complete shower whenever I went to drive it the next day, which I got tired of real fast. That's why there is a tarp on, just to seal the sunroof. I'd like to just replace the entire roof for a solid steel plate as you say, and I probably will in the near future. Thanks for watching once again! ❤️
Salutari aproape vecine! E grozav de auzit. Fiat 640dt este o bestie de tractor, mi-aș dori și eu unul dintre ele. Sper că ești mulțumit de acea configurație, sună uimitor. (Yes, I used google translate for this)
Hey from ME USA, first time here. Are you always this polite or are you just half in the bag or high on the mountain........... Over past 10 years I watched some of you {across the pond} loggers with tractors, and I always shake my head that they never have a FEL on, for me a tractor is useless without one on, but least you have a blade which in some cases would be better than bucket, I'll have to check out some of your other videos........... When it comes to logging chains I run 5, 2@ 6' and 3@ 8', the 3> 8' I have the unbreakable>> {Tulsa Grade 100 Clevis Sling Hook with latch} easy on and easy off. I know they are unbreakable because for the past 10 years I haven't broken them, if I cant break it, it cant be broke...........
Hey! Welcome to the channel then! Glad to have you😄 Haha, I might be high on the mountain! But yes, I try to be polite and respectful in my daily life, at least after I've had my first cup of coffee! ☕ I'm not sure what a FEL is.. Front end loader? If so, then I haven't really missed it on this MF tractor, I have the New Holland for anything that needs it. Nice to meet you. Thanks for the comment, and for watching ❤️
Когда ты все время делаешь что-то сам, ты становишься очень ориентированным на решение, хе-хе. Да, мне нравятся мои цепи на MF. Зимние шипы для уборки снега. Спасибо за просмотр! ❤️ (Yes, I used google translate for this. Sorry for any strange words and weird grammar)
A Little PAINT would Certainly Not Hurt this Tractor. It is a Shame to see it Rusting into the ground & Constantly detererating & "Rigged-Band-aided " to death. Plus ...IT could be made a Whole lot safer than just CONSTANTLY , Patching it UP ! Where is the "Love"?
I completely agree with you, and it is something I would like to tackle in the future. It hurts my soul a little bit to even use it, because it's actually a quite rare and nice tractor worth taking care of as you say. But mark my words, one day there will be a video on my channel about fixing it up proper! 😊 Thanks for the comment, and for watching ❤️
