Progress as of earlier this evening. Just after this was filmed I installed the reel and adjusted it. The SkourKleen is scrapped. I am replacing it with a short cross auger to take the grain from the clean grain elevator to the bin.
I replaced the badly worn and rotted out mechanical drive bin unloading auger with a new hydraulically driven auger a little longer than the original to get into wagons and the truck easier. Should be ready for harvest in August. It has been a long and dirty 2 week process to get this far, in hot humid weather crawled up inside or under a rusty dusty old combine. I paid $1200 for it and have about $600 in parts and belts and bearings. Most items I can fabricate as far as steel and sheet metal go. All in it is an $1800 combine which should last for many more years properly lubricated and maintained and used carefully.
