MF DOOM experienced artery clogging october 30th 2020, severe cramping experienced before artery explosion. transitioned 7:31 am october 31st 2020. He said it himself "ain't no starting back once artery start to freeze." Rip to da super villain.
Man, if only people really understood the greatness of DOOM's debut with Operation Doomsday. Literally from a comic strip or a movie. The dude's brother died, whatever left that they produced was rejected by the record label, dismantling the group and his ambitions... Then, he rose from the ashes as MF DOOM after a 3-year hiatus after being pretty much homeless and sleeping on benches to swear revenge on the music industry hence the whole "DOOM / villain / came to destroy rap" persona. Never revealed his face, kept his life private to stay true like the character for decades. This is why (in my opinion), Operation: Doomsday will forever be his BEST album. This is some phoenix shit, a man buried deep by society, emerging as a villain to take control and that, he did. In short, DOOM's legacy is not just about commercial success, it's about staying true to the ARTS. He did hiphop for the love of it and created a whole damn fucking storyline about it.... (Edited) Shit, this man even passed away on Halloween... RIP
Hey, to all MF DOOM fans, thanks for being so welcoming, not gatekeeping, or claiming that you aren’t a real fan if you came after his death. Thanks a lot. Bless you all, RIP MF DOOM and remember ALL CAPS WHEN YOU SPELL THE MANS NAME
DOOM was hip hop's Steely Dan. Incredibly prolific, and equally consistent in quality. His worldly lyrics & obscure references conjure up wild mental images, & each album has it's own unique vibe. Rest in peace to the all-time greatest.

I was at a convention earlier this year, and with all of the marking out I did to cosplays, all it took was for one person to simply have Doom's mask on to almost had me break down while giving him daps. Like I told him, "gone but not forgotten."
I’m so happy DOOM fans aren’t gatekeeping his music after his passing. Usually with any other artist it’s “fake fan you’re only here because he died”. Glad to see we’re all here to celebrate the legend.
@@Satchamo_Jones one thing we can rejoice in is that this man put out so many banger albums. You can listen to so much of his shit for so long and keep finding more.
I think it's fitting that the Villain died on Halloween and then had one last chance to cause chaos by ruining everybody's New Years. Rest In Peace DOOM
His death was as enigmatic as his life, oddly fitting. It's rare you see someone's cult following in hip hop become so big that you could almost say he created his own mainstream since he's completely in a league of his own.
Im Chinese, MF DOOM actually accompanied me during the hardest times of my life, love you forever, please remember forever him like 2pac and biggie, rest in peace.
Its almost unreal how good his wordplay and how intricate rapping was and he does it so effortlessly and the fact he self produced this album all on his own shows how amazingly talented Daniel was. Such an amazing artist and amazing album
One of the most beautiful songs ever made. Simply haven’t heard much like it. The melody and clash between the fast lyrics and the laidback calm beat is so heavenly.
Listen to some of J Dilla, someone who DOOM idolized who has also passed away a while ago, and his beattape's like The New Slave, Da 1st Installment and Another Batch. RIP DOOM, his son Malachi, Subroc and Dilla
MF DOOM had a huge impact on rap. He changed it for better. In a world where everyone wants to be a hero, it takes a special kind of person to wanna be a villain. RIP MF DOOM
Was listening to SOBERDOOM when I heard the News. "Living Off Borrowed Time The Clock Tick Faster." RIP To the legend and the greatest rapper with no chain you ever heard" MF DOOM
IMO this has to be one of the best songs ever created, the beat, the sample, the scratches, and the lyrics, everything's perfect as it is, the way it fades out just to come back beautifully
"On Doomsday!, ever since the womb ‘til I'm back where my brother went, that's what my tomb will say Right above my government; Dumile Either unmarked or engraved, hey, who's to say?" RIP.
what the fuck its been ONE YEAR since MF DOOM passed away, and fittingly on halloween too (and also Doomsday). rest in peace to the illest villain that ever existed.
Your right, 49 is very young to die, but what if he waited until 48 to live? He gave his gift to the world that will continue serving way long after he is gone. Peace and love all!!!
''Ever since the womb 'til I'm back where my brother went, that's what my tomb will say'' Those words are much more relevant today... Rest in great peace, Dumile.
every time i listen to this song it reminds me of my friend zavion. His childhood was very troubled but he said after he met me he finally felt at peace. towards the end of his life he became more and more invested into this gang life. He met a girl and settled down with her and got her pregnant. 2 month later he died. i remember sitting down and talking to him listening to this. every time i listen to this song it brings a tear to my eye he was a father figure to me. RIP zae and RIP MF DOOM
It's pretty surreal that we got to witness/experience such an interesting character in our lifetime.. Rest easy, but *may your spirit live on forever MF DOOM* 🙏🏾💎✨️💙✌🏾🎨⛅️
The part at 0:16 stands out from some of the rap from the time. Such a great mix of the tape scratching and a sweet calming voice. Love it so much. RIP
I was travelling alone in Europe when I first discovered MF DOOM. I got hooked on his songs. His words and beats carried me through train stations, city streets, and airports from Brussels to Sarajevo. I was hooked. Still am. Everytime I think of DOOM brings me back to that time. His music will last forever
That's honestly really dope man! My dad showed me DOOM's music at a young age and have loved it ever since. Recently uploaded a tribute to DOOM about a year after his passing, that man really was something else...
The greatest mystery rapper, the most powerful force in underground. I’m Chinese I used to remember I listened your music in my bedroom ten years ago. What a sunshine afternoon and I didn’t go to school. R.I.P you are a real god.
@@soriba391 it's poetic, me you and chinese name guy. I'm sure soooo many others too: for us who've lived this. It's as if we have shared the same day. _Like dejavu, but with other people experiencing the same set of events as you._ *That's the kinda timelessness some artists can have.* Music that has the power to create this universal mental zone where, your fans can end up coming together over a song. And sharing a story, and in the comments have peopole saying "I have lived through that exact same day" For me finding this interesting, masked artist. Who is figuratively but in some ways actually the antihero of hip hop🎷☯️ And being so drawn into the space his work creates for me, in my mind. That I'm able to completely detach from that cookie cutter highschool what I believed to be bs. Doomsday gave me alot more joy than any honor roll, or forgettable group of so called friends. I for one know DOOMs legacy will never be under appreciated. I know this with certainty because Hes going to be my children's introduction to hip hop. The same way tupac was mine, the same way groover washington junior was for my dad. DOOM isn't just another rapper. The brother has literally taken up a role in my family tree. Rest peacefully Daniel.
One of the greatest ever to spit on a mic... I know the word "underrated" is thrown around alot, but yeah MF Doom is the baddest "underrated" there is. RIP MF Doom..one of the realest.
@@kawikalavin8353 "domesday" is an ancient English tradition of recording what we might now call a census; every ten years of recording where people live and how (you had "domesbooks" and such). Words like "doom" came from this, as determining where people end up in life. The lyrics from the doom to the womb to the tomb seem pretty straightforward from that, imo.
