Jay - Excellent presentation! I just finished the initial work on an End Fed and counterpoise with a 9:1 match. Your description of the procedure using the Nana VNA solidified it usage in the pre-tuning stage and will make my outdoor adventures A LOT easier - As long as I can get the Antenna to stay up high in the trees! Cheers! N9NAZ
Very nice, I have a 949E too, as well as a 969 under repairing. Missing the nanovna still but will be an addition very soon. Just remember to always start with maximum capacitance, and work the inductor to lower swr. Then ajust if needed trasmitter first then antenna cap. This way should bring you to a combination of the T network that is the best for efficiency. Of course take note of your three settings and changing band will be a piece of cake. 73
