Had the US version '69 (Austin America). Didn't have it long (6 mos.). Anywhere water could leak in it did and anything that could leak out did. Everytime I opened the hood there would be pieces missing. Ugh.
All of what you said are firsts were introduced in the mini 3 years earlier, and yes they did rust faster than Alfa's, also developed into the Apache by redesigning the bonnet/hood and boot/ trunk.
