Display boards detailing the history of MG, and the MG in Abingdon, have recently been erected by the MG Car Club in the small park alongside the River Ock. The park is not far from the former Cemetery Road off Spring Rd MG Factory of which remains just the refurbished Administrative Centre. The MG car Club is also in Cemetery Road. Although the factory itself was demolished in the 1990's there still remains The Boundary House Pub former home of Cecil Kimber, (Sometimes) a MG room in Abingdon Museum.
There are some excellent Pathe News Videos of MG Abingdon on RU-vid.

My mothers family came from Berkshire. She was one of six children and the family lived in the mill at Dorchester. I made a trip to the UK in 2017 and visited the mill. I remember going there once as a small child. My mums family eventually spread out through Abingdon, Wallingford, Sutton Courtney and Milton. Her youngest sister and husband lived in Sutton Courtney and he worked at MG for many years.

Is the mill that wooden clad building?

@@HowToVideosAndTips Yes that's correct and there's a brick house next door. The stream is a tributary of the Thames and passes under the mill and forms a large pond below the mill then continues on to rejoin the Thames further down by the road bridge. My grandfather used to frequent The Fleur de Lys hotel in High Street. Further down High Street is the George Hotel which has a yellow and black horse drawn coach out the front. I remember my mother telling me that during WW2 they could see the glow of the London blitz from the mill.

@@payres48 The mill is uninhabited at the moment or it was last time I went by. We like the Fleur De Lys especially in the Summer you can sit out the front or in the rear garden.

@@HowToVideosAndTips Yes I noticed it appeared to be empty and perhaps being used for storage. My uncles used to swim and fish in the pond below the mill when they were boys. One of my mums brothers still survives and lives in Sutton Courtney.

B-Block still stands; B-Block is where the Comps Department, Special Tuning, and QA/Final Inspections were performed. Oxford Engineering occupy what was the Comps Department. Look at it from street view, and despite the new facade, it's clear to see they were part of the MG Factory.

I would of hoped there was still a car factory there today but as the UK makes nothing now nothing surprises me.Why on earth would you want Abingdon to look like Long Island.God help the UK nothing now but a museum.
