A full charge takes around 7 hours. But a bigger capacity charger can be purchased from the company for about 50 thousand rupees. And it'll charge your car in about 2.5 hours. Both these chargers are installed at your home. You do get a portable charging cable that can be used to charge the car from any big socket(on which ACs' and other big appliances work) with a good ground, but I believe that the charging would be slow. That's why it's a city only car. Regarding ground, I've searched on Google and Amazon and found a few good products that provide a ground. A good ground is required for the vehicle's safety. I still have to talk about this with my electrician, to learn more about it.

Well, I’ll share it right now for the readers. 😊 The regenerative braking is a very handy feature, especially in the hills where one gets to drive down slopes. In short, the energy that’s wasted in a petrol and diesel vehicle while braking is used up in an ev to charge the battery using the vehicle’s kinetic energy. I tried it and it was able to give me it not much hit about a 10-15% charge, but that’s cause I’ve only tried it once 😊. The good thing is that usually regenerative braking can feel a little intrusive, but I didn’t feel it much. If anything, if made the downhill descent easier because it was intuitive enough. 😊 Here’s a longer note for those new to regenerative braking: Regenerative braking turns your car’s kinetic energy into electricity to charge its battery and boost efficiency. Here’s how When you push your petrol or diesel car’s brake pedal, hydraulic fluid moves the brake pads against your vehicle’s brake discs (or drums on older and sometimes cheaper models). The resulting friction works to slow the car down, generating heat and wearing away at the material on the pads and discs in the process. Regenerative braking is a way of taking the kinetic energy from a car’s momentum and converting this into electricity when you need to slow down. This electrical energy can be used to recharge your hybrid or electric car’s battery. On a normal car, braking simply wastes energy - but with regenerative braking, some of this otherwise unharnessed energy is able to be reused. Regenerative braking systems are common on many modern cars. On petrol and diesel models, it’s used to charge the battery that runs various ancillary systems in the car, meaning less work for the engine and less fuel burned. In these cars, the system is virtually imperceptible to the driver, but in hybrid and pure-electric cars regenerative braking takes a more active and obvious role. In these models, brake regeneration can help charge the big battery packs that supply electric drive motors with power. Electric motors can operate in two different modes. With Drive selected, when you press the accelerator pedal, the motor will drive the wheels in a forward direction in order to move the car. As you lift your foot off the accelerator pedal, the momentum of the vehicle turns the motor into a generator, inducing a current which is then fed back to the battery. When you then press the brake pedal, the electrical resistance of the motor is increased, slowing you down faster but also generating even more current to top up the battery. When the regeneration process kicks in, you’ll feel the car start to slow down. This sensation can vary between models, though, as some manufacturers will have pre-programmed how much regenerative braking occurs when you lift off the pedal. A number of cars also allow you to set the strength of the regenerative braking system yourself - this is usually done via a touchscreen menu or paddles attached to the steering wheel. All cars still have conventional friction brakes though, so if you push the pedal hard enough - say, in an emergency stop - then the hydraulic system will kick in to slow you down as sharply as possible. Again, different cars will require different amounts of force on the pedal in order to get the conventional braking system to kick in. What does regenerative braking feel like? There are many cars with regenerative braking, and they all feel a little bit different to use. In fact, in most electric cars you can tailor the way it feels to your own preference. If you want to harvest as much energy as possible, you can set your car’s system to its highest setting. Alternatively, if you dislike the sensation of the car braking by itself and prefer the car to ‘coast’, you can often completely turn it off. Some cars also have an automatic cruise control system that uses brake regeneration. The car in front is monitored by sensors and brake regen is used to match that car’s speed on the road. In many EVs, when you lift off the pedal completely it feels like you’ve got your foot firmly on the brake. This is often referred to as one-pedal driving, as you need to modulate your right foot to speed up and slow down, rather than swapping it between the brake and accelerator pedals as with a combustion-engined car. In most cases, a car’s brake lights will come on when lifting off the accelerator in the most aggressive regenerative braking setting, even if you’re not touching the pedal.

Secondly, as far as the features, build quality, and the maintenance costs go, again the cars are rather apart. But yes, for someone looking for a basic vehicle under budget, they will surely consider the K10 because the savings are immediate with costs spread over the long run, while it’s the reverse for the Comet. 😊 The savings are spread over the long run because major chunk of the cost is paid upfront, with no fuel expenses from day one.

I haven’t but that wouldn’t change anything about the experience ☺️ The motor, the battery, the power, the torque, the suspension are the same for all the models. It’s only the features that vary. So there would be no difference in the performance and the drivability of the excite in the hills…it’ll be exactly the same as the exclusive. 😊

ESC and Hill Hold Control are available only in exclusive, not in excite, thats why wanted to know if lower variants will be good for hill drive or not. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Yup, you’re right there 😊👍 I won’t lie ESC does help. As for hill hold, I’m guessing you’ve been driving in the hills already so know you can use the manual parking brake on slopes to keep you from going back on steep slopes. When it’s time to move, rev and let go the break like most of us hill folks do in such situations. So I’m guessing you shouldn’t experience a major drop in the functionality 😊

Aap aur main kya research karenge jo company ne ki hogi. -bigger tyres on small cars mean slower pickup. Aur ye gadi bhagti hai! - smaller tyres = savings. Iska ek Chinese tyre 1500 mein aa jata hai aur branded tyres 2500 se shuru hote hain. -chote tyres se traction aur cornering mein zaroor dikkat aati hai, but then again ise maine pahad mein chala kar dekha. Suspension ki acchi tuning se cornering bahut acchi hai itne chote tyres ke hote. Ji bilkul ye barf mein dikkat degi par nature ke aage to maine apne sheher mein off roarers bhi fail hoti dekhi hain. Moreover, it’s mainly a city car. -range totally aapke chalane par depend karti hai. 3 driving modes hain. Hamein range bhi chahiye aur choti gadi bhi jo kahin bhi ghus jaye. Jinki range zyada hai unki chasis bhi larger rehti hain larger battery ki wajah se. - fast charging bilkul available hai excite fc aur exclusive fc models main. Shayad aapne miss kar diya video mein 😊 3.5 hours mein charge hote hain ye models. I hope meri baaton ka bura na maanein aap 😊🙏 Mujhe mg ne koi paise nahin diye na hi mera company se lena dena hai but simple baat ka maza nahin aata, technical ka aata hai. Oh, good sir, if you’re comparing this with eeco, kwid, and espresso, which are nowhere close in build quality and equipment and are not even EVs, then this would be a very myopic view, with all due respect 😊🙏. Even the Reva, the cheapest EV in India before being discontinued in 2010, touched 3.76 lacs ex showroom, and that was just a two seated with 17 bhp. 😊 I think some research is required before forming such an opinion. ☺️🙏

To answer your question, yes I have driven it, a friends vehicle and to be honest it felt scary sitting with that in city traffic. I wouldn't dare be in it on the highway. The responsive nature is a result of it being an EV. I have owned its bigger brother Hector for more than 2 years. I bought it deceived by its interiors and finish, that too didn't age well is another story. The engine was sluggish and milage poor, no fun to drive at all. And infotainment system had a habit to reverting to Mandarin. The incompetent service station guys made fun of me for getting stuck on such minor issue. Unfortunately, that was the only fixable problem. The engine power and milage one had to live with. Finally, since you mention its an Indian company, remember Jindal is just a smokescreen he will be chucked out once they have a foot hold. Just read about the havoc SAIC has created in the European market by dumping EVs there. They will do the same in India along with BYD

Why do you think Mahindra is able to produce such cost effective cars? Economies of scale is the answer, which china has. If all of it were produced in India, you wouldn’t have the pricing that you have now. iPhone production came to India, and iPhones got expensive! I’m not saying india should produce less, but what I’m saying is that we need to take advantage of globalisation. It’s an open world now. If we trade with them, they trade with us too! I have no special love for MG. I’m just appreciating a good product. I, in fact, I own a car by the Pune-based force motors. Finally, if you think public transport is indigenously made, then you’re forgetting that metro rails are being made by German and Chinese collaborations as well. Did you know that in 2022, a Chinese company was given a tender to make 39,000 wheels for the vande Bharat express?
