MG XPAG engine. TD TF 

This is from a used MG TD engine that we had here in the shop but we don't have any history on it. I don't even remember buying it!
Anyway a customer came in with a destroyed engine from being run without oil so I decided to use this engine for a block and crankshaft donor. In fact the crankshaft and connecting rods were beautiful as well as the camshaft, even though I had to break one piston into hundreds of pieces to get it out of the block.
I was totally unprepared to find what I found when I looked inside the oil pan:
an oil filter that looked like it had not seen the light of day for 50 years and oil that had turned to sludge along with an oil pickup horn that was blocked off with more of the same. How this engine did not destroy itself is beyond explanation.
