On February 23, 1945 there were 2,147 Allied internees being held prison and were scheduled to be massacred by the Japanese in their Los Baños prison camp. In order to save them, the Hunters ROTC device a plan to liberate them. Col. Gustavo Ingles construct the planning by coordinating other guerilla groups to also participate. Among them are the HUKBALAHAP, The President Quezon's Own Guerilla, Wha Chi 48th Squadron, and the Markings Guerilla. Honorio "Naning" Guerrero of the Hunters was voted as the Unified Ground Commander and the attacking force will be the Hunters ROTC 45th Regiment. The Americans came late as if the fighting was almost over. It was the largest POW rescue in World War II.
