thanks for posting! I run a MG/Triumph shop, one of these systems from Moss fit so poorly on a 74 B rdstr I can't recommend them (and I'm done w/Moss anyway). My own 72 BGT, which I use for road trips, has a great sounding exhaust I came up with ... center resonator by Flow Master and rear muffler from Pace Setter (unfortunately they're gone). Not so loud as to make 8 - 10 hr runs unbearable. Best wishes for the new year! 🎉

Thanks for the video Rob, just wondering if you would recommend any exhaust paste whilst assembling these? Mine seems to blow a bit from the joints.

I have never liked using it. If you get the joints lined up properly you shouldn’t need it, but sometimes the only way you can is to cut and weld in unfortunately. If its really close, but not quite lined up well enough the paste can help with leaks if you use it correctly

I have one of these systems, while nice sounding they do have their issues. And now after 6 years part of the muffler inside has come loose and now rattles some, probably a baffle loose. I will replace the muffler with something else and just keep the pipes. I'd never pay what they want for them now. Oh, I also when through two of the TT headers and ended up going back to the stock manifold. Moss did replace both headers and then finally sent me the non-header version. Both headers had alignment issues. They were horribly built and I suspect taken out of the welding jig while hot and warped there after.

After installing a number of these systems over the years, I do believe the supplier for the system has changed a few times. I have noticed some differences over the years, And right about the time you would’ve bought yours I noticed a little decline in quality for a little while and then I think they changed the suppliers as at that point in time I was seeing bigger, alignment issues, and then it got better.

Keyed into you... Doing an exhaust. Taking your advice with the extension and swivel socket, thx. Mine car is a '73 MGB. And the attention to retightening they up after use, so they don't "fall out." Yikes, didn't know that...The 6 studs that get the 6 (brass?) nuts... What's the size of the nuts?
@mgbgtguy

The nuts are 1/2”

@@mgbgtguyI'm probably too late here but most important thing was thread ... it's 1/4 - 28 UNF fine thread

Actually the manifold studs ( what he asked about) are 5/16 -24 UNF thread using a 1/2” socket. The hanger to body bolts are 1/4 -28 UNF which use a 7/16” wrench/socket 👍🏻

Looking to maybe replace what I'm got... I haven't a lot of $$$. In your experience, are the originals good enough to use as a replacement? I'm thinking the install with an original might be easier. Thanks, from a "shade tree mechanic."

I have found that this stainless exhaust doesn’t cost that much more than the original system once you get everything ( if you need hangers and all) if you’re buying from someplace like Moss. Also, sometimes there can be a wait for parts of the original exhaust system because it’s some of the parts are not always in stock. If you don’t need everything though the stock stuff will save you a bit of $$ and is just fine to use.

A couple of questions. 1) will this fit on a '67 MGB? 2) And if it does, will it require new tuning or jetting on the motor once the new exhaust is attached? Thanks for your insight and advice.

Yes it will fit a ‘67. No it shouldn’t require re jetting, but may need minor carb adjustments.
