Holy crap, I thought I knew every trick in MGS3. Didn't know about killing the maintenance guys affects the Shagohod's health before the fight. That's amazing!
Metallic Archaea same with me but whats kind of cool and funny is that I always kill the maintenance staff in the hanger.... so I've actually been doing it my WHOLE MGS3 career and have NEVER realized it....
Actually that was a case for some people. I think its called brain bang or brain glass something like that. It is whrn your brain imagine a soun and then the sound just happen and only you heard it because it came from your brain
I mean, there's no way to even destroy the ladder, it is invincible and has no health bar. The only thing you can do is to do as it silently wishes and climb it, hoping you don't die. After that game's pretty much a cake walk.
You can weaken the Shagohod by killing the maintenance crew?! Wow, this game's been out for 14 years, and we're still finding secrets. Great video, by the way.
I got it by literally beating him to death. No gun to head or 3 times sneaking up. Good old fashion heartbeat sensor/thermal scope/ slow movements. If only young me knew what I know now
@@biggamanedabeast5247 No you don't. I've done cqc runs. You get his Mosin for non lethaling him, his camo is a reward for sneaking up on him. Sorry but you're full of shit.
If you KILL his parrot, he'll get 100% triggered and say you've got to far, he'll be more agressive (I did it... once. The parrot was doing something in that river)
Fun fact: For the Ocelot fight you can trigger a quickdraw duel if you stand unarmed in front of the cliff while Ocelot reloads behind cover. Also you can do tricks with your own revolver and he will join you
One thing about Volgin - he can be safely tossed while he’s shooting his “dodge this one” Palpatine bolts. It’s a minor point but can easily make a difference on Extreme where you’re dead after a couple hits and the time is ticking.
You can defeat Ladder boss in another way if you have moss camo. If you equip it, you'll regain stamina every few seconds because of lights all over the place.
@@TheMati2214 same here! I LITERALLY have DOZENS of pages of Easter eggs and discoveries from playing for this game for a decade! I can send you some if you like! For instance, after you beat the fear, stay perfectly still and unequip your weapons. Both of your legs shoot forward. And if you use FDP during the 2nd half of the pain fight, wait for him to turn around. Use your revival pill and his mask appears on his face for like 1-2 seconds after he discovers your still alive!!
@@kendrickparks9129 And to think this game was released on PS2 and amazes people even 16 years after its release. I think every person on the planet should play it and they won't regret it (exceptions being DSP)
@@mwperk02 In one of the possible outcomes of the last Duell with ocelot in the plane, he gives you the SAA for your next playthrough. Can't remember wich one but I know it's in Georges Video about MGS3 secrets
@@dice1378 It’s the right one. I just played through MGS3 again and wanted to have the SAA for my next play through, and found out it’s the right one through sone quick googling. I later confirmed it when finishing the game.
It's amazing how, after playing for years, reading guidebooks etc. I still discover new things about MGS... For instance, 6:10 I didn't know killing the maintenance guys would weaken the Shagohod. I usually do no-killing playthroughts maybe that's why. Also never noticed how The Fury's blue on the thermal goggles, and when he is in rage he is red, this game never ceases to amaze me.
The Fear boss fight tip: If you wanna do the first trick but lethally, do this: Use the Fake Death Pill, then, the revival, and instead of throwing stun grenades and using The Patriot, put a torch in his ass, literally. When his life reaches almost 0, use a knife to kill him definitely. Ocelot's Sniper Unit: If you killed The End early before The Fear, you'll find a Sniper Unit to replace him. They might be on The End's sniping points. I recommend to use the Thermal Googles to see the snipers better (if you have Flecktarn uniform, use it to have infinite battery). It's not necessary to defeat them, you can go to Ladder boss with no problem, but it'll help knocking/sleeping/killing them if you find them on your path. Ladder boss fight tip: If you have the Moss Camo, use it to regenerate the stamina while climbing the ladder. The Sorrow boss fight tip: If you don't have anything to kill yourself, just crawl to get into the water and wait until you get drowned. When you're dead, use the Revival Pill. Ocelot Duel tip: Choose the revolver on the left. If you wanna shoot him (instead of not pulling the trigger) and win, DO NOT SHOOT HIM AT THE HEAD, the game will think you missed the shot and Ocelot somewhat wins. It's better to shoot him at the chest. If you wanna keep the Single Action Army in next playthroughs like the camouflages, choose the revolver on the right to lose, and for some reason, Ocelot lets you keep the revolver.
for The Boss, theres a log behind you when you spawn. If you crawl with snow and geisha camo you can first person then press both R2 and L2 buttons to see over the log and essentially get free shots forever. She cant see you since tippi toeing like that doesnt raise your model only the camera and since your crawling with the right camo you have a crazy high index.
hey, so I found a way to loop volgin into cqc If you have the handkerchief you have to: Cqc him to the ground use the handcher a little bit before he stands up cqc again just as he's about to attack This last one requires a mildly precise timing but it's quite easy once you get the hang of it He can break the loop if he charges up while he's on the ground though so make sure to have some frogs and or mushrooms to last until the next opening
Funny story: When my dad bought me this game for PS2, I was like 9. I played THE WHOLE FUCKING GAME until the Volgin boss fight not knowing how to change weapons. That's right, I played the whole game until then, using nothing but a pistol. My very first playthrough, at 9 years old. Took me like two weeks to beat the game. I couldn't figure out how to beat Volgin. And after dying like the 12th time I threw my controller, but I threw it BEFORE i died, and I saw on the screen something moved with other guns and it was red. And I was like "The fuck was that?" So next playthrough I just started messing around with the D-pad buttons and yeah, I equipped the LMG (The one Snake would yell when firing.) and just shot him until he died. The End was my favorite Boss fight because it was the scariest boss I've ever fought. I mean yeah I've fought scarier and harder bosses since then but maaaaaan. I remember what I did was I used the thing that amplifies hearing, that little mic thing. And I just spun around a lot until I heard him breathing and going "This... Is The End." And I would also wait for the blink of his scope. And I'd shoot him with the pistol. At the time, I just thought that was how hard this game was to be. But, now looking back on it, after have played all the MGS games now (except for the gameboy ones but I know the story 100%.) For a goddamn 9-year-old, first playthrough WITH JUST a fucking pistol? Yeah, that's pretty fucking impressive. And the thing is, no one believes I did it .-. Since then I easily put over 100 hours on Snake Eater. I figured out a lot of easter eggs and how to beat the boss's faster. But that first playthrough, man. I'll never forget that.
I still maintain that The Fury is one of the most BS boss fights in MGS, without the sniper cheese. Doing that shit on Hard or above without getting set on fire at complete random is frustrating.
Lmao, I did that guy with an MKII easy as fuck, it's the easier version of the Vulcan Raven fight from MGS1 , but the Mosin/SVD does make it a lot faster...
Super secret. Use the knife on the fury to split open his suit. Then, he will die from the next WP grenade you throw at him. Or on harder modes It does insane amounts of damage to him
@@DialloMoore503 you make sure he doesn’t know where you are, then get up behind him and fairly close, and attack! Make sure you’re silent and slow! Also welcome to the main way people play metal gear.
If you sneak up on the end (he’s always in the same first position), when he drops his stun grenade before running away, if you lie on the floor it does not effect your vision, allowing you just to literally run after him to his next position, and he next etc
KEEP SPINNIN' THOSE GUNS OCELOT! *fight starts* I TOLD YOU TO KEEP....FOCKIN'....*SPINNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-* *sounds of heavy gunfire*
I'm honestly stunned at the quality of these videos, the editing is on fleek and it's straight to the point with no obnoxious sponsorship BS clogging up the video. Loving this content. Would you consider doing other titles in the Metal Gear series, whether it'd be easter eggs, tricks, glitches etc? All of the MGS3 videos I've seen so far from you have been top notch 👌
I know that I’m 8 months late but Option 3 for the Ocelot fight: Be respectful; Let him reload if he’s out in the open and do a Quick Draw duel whenever possible, don’t throw any grenades at him and especially don’t make the bees attack him I know it doesn’t help you fight against him easier but it’s just something fun to do.
I've played the metal gear games countless times over the past 25 years and i'm still finding stuff i didn't know. A few ways to beat the bosses in this video i didnt even know about. The attention to detail in older games like metal gear is insane, sure some new games have them but for some reason they don't feel full enough and have hidden things in that you notice years later
2:29 You forgot option 3 1) Fake Death Pill 2) Crouch with torch 3) OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH
Not sure if anyone said this already, but after using the fake death pill on The Fear, you can just craw and burn him with a torch, he isn't program to react to fire damage at all
As much fun as these guides are they typically rely on advanced bragging rights reward bonuses and methods that lower score. If possible, do you think you could go for a more newbie friendly Boss Fight guide?
Tip for the Ocelot Unit Invasion: You can push two of the barrels the night before it happens and then shoot the barrels to take the guards while hiding underneath the building. The best part: Killing a guard via an exploding barrel DOES NOT count as a kill on the game ending screen, so go get that Foxhound rank!
Nice video! I knew all of these but it was still awesome! FYI you can capture a poisonous bug and have it sting The Fury (since he walks so slow) for an easy stamina kill.
In MGS 3, my favourite boss is The End. Considering that he is the oldest of the Cobra Unit by far, he takes going out with a bang to a literal level 😂😂😂😂 The fact that you can take him out before you have the boss battle with him is even better, lol
Dont always keep your weapons equiped during the volgin boss fight, his lightning attacks like to home in directly on your guns, its so accurate its unavoidable, unequip them before he does the attack so that doesnt happen, it took me a while to figure that out.
I'm very proud of myself for being able to defeat the boss and volgin mainly using only CQC at my first playthrough, it was really fun to get the perfect timing to counter the boss' attacks
If going non-lethal during the Ocelot Unit fight, crawl under the bed, and chuck a stun grenade at the door after they blow it off its hinges. Drops 3-4 soldiers at once, and you can still get to the trapdoor later.
6:50 i read online that is better to press the CQC button during the "swoosh" sound effect, even before the grunt (so you wont' have to predict it) used that trick and went from first timer into countering every CQC attempt every time
A few pro tips from my experience. The Pain; lay down and throw W.P. grenades at his feet while his "armor" is up. The hornets can't catch grenades on the ground. Then tranq or kill him. As for the ladder, if you wear The Ends Moss camo you will gain stamina while climbing the ladder cause you are still in Svyatogornyj. As for The Fury his camo is useless but if you have the Mosin Vacant and spam fire shots with it the fight will end quickly. Great video by the way. I didn't know about the parrot giving The End's position away. Glad I subbed to this channel! : )
3:28 you can actually stay behind him until he drops all his stamina searching you and then use the tranq gun to finish the job. As long as you are close, don't disturb him and can see him The End will not move no matter what.
If you get beside him to where he wont see you and use subsistence camera to have the end face the screen and equip moss camo and sniper rifle and crouch, itll look like yall are literally sniping partners!
