So true! I just did this mission last night. It's just feel different from other missions and Sahelantrophus itself made it creepier

they’re literally cat and dog lol i didn’t know what to do during the killer bee mission

In this mission and then in the quiet mission and then in the honey bee mission and then in the man on fire in Africa mission while snake is extracting man on fire and then while torturing quiet cutscene and and then in the one of audios where Miller says ocelot not to punch the kids and says they are just kids and then there was Miller who aimed at killing huey but ocelot did not aimed at killing huey and then finally in the very end of mgsv when Miller says he would defend the phantom against naked snake.

Naked and Punish Snake are no different from making great decisions, only problem is Naked Snake (I believe) always been controlled by Ocelot while Punish snake would have break Ocelot’s control. Sadly Punish snake dies as Ocelot is free to destroy the world ( Naked Snake notice his mistake was huge from my view.)

+Leo K I don't think the content of those conversations is influenced by the player's playstyle. For example, the two soldiers in this mission are actually talking about how The Boss killed a lot of their guys and how he "fights like he's possessed by a demon". Not very flattering. And most of the Russian in this game is bad. The writing itself is like some caricaturish communist speak, with only half of the actors sounding like native Russian speakers. The other half sounds like Eastern Europeans with very thick accents. It really takes me out of the game when I hear these convos.

+prenatual Also, I'm not sure if you'll ever upload that video for me to comment on it there, since there's no Stealth in that video - but I'm wondering what you thought about this game's Final Boss - Metal Gear Sahelanthropus. I thought it was pretty cool; since some of the games I remember playing years and years ago, when I was very young had gigantic bosses that felt intimidating to fight against. This one reminded me of that feeling.

+Leo K I didn't like Sahelanthropus. I hate when games that offer you the freedom to play as you choose suddenly force you into a specific playstyle or ask you to use specific weapons. If you want to see how to properly do a battle against a gigantic mech, try Metal Gear Rising: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f3bHENs9-2A.html That boss shares a lot of similarities with Sahelanthropus, only it's 10x more awesome and has some actual depth to it. For example, with good timing you can parry most of the MG Ray's attacks and stun it -- which is a mechanics that the game never really teaches you and it's something that you have to discover on your own. While in TPP you can't use any of the stealth tactics you learned throughout the game to help you fight the boss. You just fire a few rockets at its glowing bits / run around in circles dodging its attacks / repeat 10 times. It doesn't seem like a good game design to me. And for what it's worth, you can defeat Sahelanthropus without firing a single shot and earn No Traces + S rank on that mission. But it doesn't take any skill and it's like the complete opposite of fun. There is simply no comparison to Rising, where S-ranking a boss fight feels like a real achievement.

***** Ah. That makes sense. I appreciated Sahelanthropus for what it was, but if I re-evaluate my thoughts on it, I realize you're right. It did take me out of my playstyle. Funny enough, I complained about that when Helicopters/Gunships did that to me during Side Ops - but I didn't really think too hard about it for Sahelanthropus. Maybe I was too easy on the game just because it was the last boss. I didn't really love Human Revolution's boss fights for the same reason. I've also played Metal Gear Rising, and did enjoy all of that game's bosses immensely, maybe more than the regular combat against normal enemies. In TPP it was the other way around for me. Gameplay around Guards was great, boss fights were less great. It seems like it's pretty tough to make a decent boss fight in a Stealth game, since Stealth is fundamentally about avoiding confrontation.

This guy most likely tried a lot of times until he found the perfect way to finish the mission without getting seen. Nobody is this perfect on first or second or third try etc etc. It takes practice, trial and error.

It took me a lot of pain but I managed to sneak all the way out, sadly you will still be attacked in the last seconds.

When i see videos that do shit like 0:34, I automatically think "Bullshit!" Enemies had seen me through walls and noticed me crawling behind them in this game

I was about to say the same thing.

I remember calling in an attack helicopter when I got spotted by theirs and it proceeded to mow down everyone there. Problem was, it did its job too well and I was left with no one to ask where Emmerich was when the pilot decided to follow me all the way from the first area XD. Spent way too much time looking for him before I finally found him in the hangar. Got a rank B for my troubles.

+MahoganyTooth92 Camo seems to be borderline useless in this game. I tested it a few times with different patterns, and the only effect I noticed is that it reduces your visibility range during the day if you're crouching and not moving. Normally, you become visible at 45 meters while crouching, and with the appropriate camo this range is reduced to 20 meters. That's all it does. When you're standing upright or lying on the ground, or when you're moving (even at the slowest speed), or during the night time it makes absolutely no difference.

+prenatual That's interesting, and makes sense I guess. I'm surprised it only affects visibility range while in crouching pose, and not in either of the others. I suppose it's a good thing because I can wear anything I want based on looks alone. Thanks for the reply. ...does it apply to the Battle Dress too? I'd find it odd if that massively bulky outfit is just as stealthy as any of the others. Another question (You're going to hate me eventually, lol) Sometimes when I attempt to hold up a guard, they'll pretend to put their hands up, but then they'll pull out a knife and attempt to attack me, and this is obviously problematic when I'm going for no traces myself, as it forces me to CQC them to neutralize them. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a guaranteed way to force an enemy to surrender, or are you always at the mercy of RNG?

+MahoganyTooth92 You are as visible in the Battledress as in all other suits. 65/45/20 meters while standing/crouching/prone and not moving during the day, 35/15/10 meters at night. It has the same noise levels as non-sneaking suits too. About enemies trying to counter the hold-up: yes, it seems to be random, and no, I haven't found a way to deal with this and not to fail No Traces. Everything you can normally do (like punching them, or bumping into them, or shining a flashlight into their faces) cancels the bonus. You have to restart the mission when that happens.

+prenatual Wow. Time to go on sneaking missions in that massive combat outfit. That's a shame about the hold-ups. I suppose it's to try and stop players from neutralizing guards during no traces run, but the fact that there's an element of RNG to it is BS. Oh well, at least now I know it's random and I'm not doing anything wrong. Thank you for your continued well written and informed responses

+prenatual When enemies are about to counter a hold up, if you try to interrogate them, you don't have the options. That's when you know they're going to counter, that's how I learned about that.

Videos with high framerates (48-60 fps) may feel like they were sped up until you get used to them.

+Yershmyyak No. If you toggle the box on and off from the item menu, so that it never leaves your inventory, then it's fine. You only lose the bonus if you enter the box and then crawl or dive out of it, leaving the empty box behind.
