To be honest, I thought the GL is the top tier weapon in these game, because... I literally did a Shelling run in my first gameplay thinking it will carry me thru Low - G-rank until I reached White Fatty, and it was painful. (GL used in dunno how many quest, over 1000 times)
Yep :P Good luck! It works really well, the main thing to remember is that the up poke goes directly into a block, once you figure that out, it's such an insanely good weapon. I actually used it against Narcagua too and it worked really well.
The good old simple day's. Honestly, the game does a good job, just you and the monster, world is too complicated, I like the quality of life things but the shivers my first fatalis gave me in mhfu will never happen again
World is an incredible game, it's as simple as you need it to be. My first Fatalis in MHFU was pure annoyance and disappointment, he does not live up to the hype. There are many other moments throughout MH that I've loved and hold dear, Fatalis is nowhere near being one of them lol, but I'm glad he did for you, I guess. The Fatalis in World is difficult enough that I don't have the time to invest in getting better right now.

Hey np, yeah there's a lot of tough fights throughout monster hunter >.< Some are more difficult than others depending on what weapon you're using and how good you are with it, I think the lances work pretty well against Plesioth, for example.

It's definitely got a lot of defense. Gravios X has 460-560 defense with Health +30 (Kind of meh), Guard Inc and Guard +1 as positive skills, you can use decorations to get rid of its negative skill Constitution -1. It's best suited for weapons that can block, more specifically weapons with stronger blocks like Lance and Gunlance, but it can work on SNS, Greatsword, and even HBG with the shield attachment. I think. It's really up to you, if you like how it looks or want more a tanky skill selection, you should go for it!
All weapons are good at the start of the game and up to a certain point. I think some weapons are better suited for certain fights. If you're a new player, go with what weapon you like the most. When you think of what the weapons are called or look like, how does that make you feel, or when you try them out, which one feels right to you, what weapons look the coolest. You can figure out how it caters to your preferred playstyle later on, and if you pick a weapon and are having an awful time, it's totally fine to switch as well. If you want a recommendation from me, try the Longsword, I always felt like SNS was too weak but GS was too slow (I know better now), but LS felt like a great middle ground and got me started and is still one of my favorite weapons in the series.
That's fair, hopefully my videos help you a little, it's a tough monster! I think Lance or Gunlance are pretty good picks for it, or, of course, LBG if you're careful, maybe with evade extender for comfort.
Plesioth is so fishy, all the time. Jokes aside, despite quite liking Gunlance (it's my secondary in 3rd gen games), I feel only 5th gen really brought out its potential with the Wyrmstake. Maybe I'm wrong, but it feels a bit underpowered in Gen 2 and in GU they completely wrecked it with that heat gauge gimmick.

You talk to the granny near the top of the village, she'll give you either a chef or a comrade, do a quest to cycle her list. Once you get a comrade, go to the kitchen and use the board on the far right to set a comrade as active. There you go.
