This was long, but I had a lot of fun with it. Hope you liked it lol What monster would you like to see next? / mh_herny / herny sites.google.c... Let me know if you want the song names, and I'll put them here later.
Herny, you're becoming my favorite MH youtuber. Your guides are consistently hilarious and informative at the same time. New hunters will get SERIOUS help from your detailed and fully actionable guidelines. As a veteran hunter I can laugh at all the little in-jokes and occasionally even learn something new. Either way, they are filled with intense detail and specificity. All while being hella casual and user-friendly. Great job, man!
The move you called "Sonic Ball" is supposed to be a reference to the favorite move of Blanka from Street Fighter (another Capcom property). The other Street Fighter reference in the species' moveset that comes to mind is a move Furious gets in Rise that is basically M. Bison's Psycho Crusher.
Additional tip for G-Rank Rajang: His Sonic Roll now hits three times. The best option is to run in a triangle formation, diagonal to his direction with every impact. Also, its big backhop almost always follows up with a spin punch so watch out for that.
2:40 New and untrained eyes would say you whiffed that hit, but a veteran with more than 3k hours in MH like myself knows that fucking pig was a bigger threat than even Rajang and you had to take care of him
this was great. As a gunner I find it helpful to stick to his diagonals and sides. Mind his arm reach if you find yourself close. Pierce rounds don't bounce off its arms when they are powered up. For normal rounds focus on its back legs until you knock it over then drill the head. For pierce aim for center of mass. As long as you stay mobile and circle around it you should be fine. Most of the battle for gunners is about good positioning. Keep your attacks light and quick until it over commits to an attack then punish it with your heavy attacks, ie power shots, siege mode or heavy damage rounds.
As a gunner, you may be thinking some thing like "F%$^ THAT F***ING BULLET DISSOLVING FIST S***" And I agree, that fist thing IS bullshit as the hitbox is clearly WAY too large, making hitting his face impossible as all your bullets evaporate before they touch it, despite the fists being a mile away. There is hope for you though; Pierce shots ignore that crap. You may not have thought to use them given his small size, but, when those fists come out bust out your pierce shot to tell him where to shove it. Alternatively, things like cluster and crag also ignore it. He is actually pretty easy to gun, as he has a fair few ranged attacks that are all easy to dodge, you can safely just pop shots at him with the occasional strafe, most of the time you dont even need to roll. He is much harder in multiplayer, simply because he may try to beam an ally, which you think may be at you, so you dodge INTO the beam... either that or those blademasters dont pay attention to their surroundings and just bait the beam to being fired at you... seriously thats annoying, stop that. His harder moves come from when he gets up close, so, focus on separating yourself ASAP and getting him to spam ranged moves again. On the plus side, most of his close up attacks are lunges that automatically move him away from you, dodge to the side and laugh as you shoot him in the butt. His charge I have seen catch people out, its like a kelbi charge. If you can visualise his path its easy to avoid, much like kirin... if not, git gut m8... or, just walk to the side, and dodge right as he reaches you, his small size means so long as you were ready you can dodge easily. Never lock yourself into an animation when he faces you, and you will be fine. Also, his horns are hard to break, his movement makes it hard for blademasters to focus on, as a gunner its MUCH easier for you to focus on them, so do them a solid and break those horns for them, maybe they will cut some tails for you too.
the difference is dmg and speed and similar to regular and savage jho (except for swapped weakspots the only difference is the range of the breath) some weakspots are more vulnerable
Actually my favorite youtuber like this is hilarious and useful its so in depth I'd love to see one for every monster just because its so fun to watch regardless of if people need the help. I think itd be a great idea to capitalize on worlds hype and do a bunch of guides for it early anyways thanks for awsome videos
I love your videos. They're hilarious and also legitimately very helpful. I've been struggling with rajang since freedom unite and I feel like he's only gotten more difficult since then. Thanks for the guide and the laughs.
Just killed my first Rajang earlier today, thank you very much for the guide! Really hope you keep making videos, specially now that Generations Ultimate is coming out
You forgot to mention that the red arms increase the hit box of the arms. And that after a back hop he usually uses the Dumbass Spin right after. Other than that you should have covered everything. Excellent video!
In relation to pitfall traps, I heard that they only work when he's yellow, but not sparking. That would mean that pitfalls only work when regular Rajang is enraged, but also only when Furious Rajang is NOT enraged. I can't really test this myself, since I'm not quite yet able to handle Rajang, but that's what the guide on Gamefaqs told me.
I just want to say Thank God for your existence and this video. You've changed my Rajang hunts forever, especially every time Rajang does the angry punches, all I hear in my head now is "What the Fuck is up Kyle!!!!" which is my name actually. Anyway you gained a new subscriber 👌🏾 Also lol @ 1:30 😂
Perfect video!!!! There should be more MH youtubers that made these type of videos. Glad you took the time to pull one as good as this! ^^ And for the next monster…i dunno, maybe some deviant? Hellblade, dreadqueen…? I see a lot of hubs focused on those two specially. Maybe grimclaw as well.
4:06 The Diddy Kong Racing music in the background got a good chuckle out of me. And by chuckle, I mean that one clip of Gabriel Iglesias laughing his ass off.
Really enjoyed this monster tutorial, fun and educational. Liked that you informed people that ice is it's weaknesses but isn't mandatory, randoms often piss me off by telling me what weapon to use, being a kind of veteran in the game. Item use at the end of the movie is a nice bonus cause as you can see in the comments people did not know the difference between Raj and SSJ Raj and I still see traps placed wrong. Will try that counting for ball attack, any advice on the bloody rathian tail spin in that matter? Still can't time it.. Keep up the great work!
Wait a second is that Fate/Stay Night music I heard?! Combined with Bleach's second ending in the outro of the Jho video?! Holy shit man, your taste in music is godly.
For those wondering how to tell if he's enraged enough to get pitfall trapped, look at the yellow fur on its back, if it's standing up, the pit will work, if it's down, it won't work.
I've started to farm Rajang solo because it's my favorite monster and I would like to make its Gunlance. Your guide is helping me a lot so thank you. I'm playing the dumb Switch Axe / Striker style with the Silver Nargacuga armor set to get good evades and I'm having fun learning his pattern. I don't know if I should feel ashamed using this style but anyway, great video :)
"dumbass spin" fucks me up everytime. i had tears when i saw the "woah HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WOAH HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" at 7:40
Just found your channel, and loved it! This kind of guide is really helpful. Any chance you'll tackle Rathalos anytime soon? Always have trouble with him. Would be great to have some quick commentary on weapon effectiveness on each monster. Like adept longsword being kinda bad on Zinogre, or dual blades in general being rough to use on Kirin. These are just examples based on my personal experience, but you get the idea (I'm kinda new to the series) =P
Tried this in mhfu, the hitbox gave me severe ptsd, tried to bow the rajang and it works until I met the gold rajang in the damn volcano area. Note that I dont have the ideal bow armour set which unfortunately to get it, I need to hunt gold rajang :) I guess get good will be my answer? (G rank version btw)
HuMaNise34 Very late reply, but I take it you are going for focus? Don’t bother, you can just use the fast charge glitch. Use the blangonga, fatalis or any rapid bow (or ukanlos if you can) and just pelt his face with arrows. He has a lot of health but just keep at it. It’ll only be maybe 18 maybe 23 mins max. Good luck with it as once you unlock the G fatalis bow he will be a joke. I have seen people get insane times with pierce bows but that takes a lot of practice. Good luck and hopefully you overcome it.
in 4U WE is not actually 5% extra damage, it's +5 hitzone. This is significant because that's actually +11.1% damage if the hitzone is 45 (the minimum to proc the skill), and 8.3% at 60 (a pretty typical weakpoint and rajang's head value). By comparison, a typical endgame craftable attack honed raw weapon will have about 320 raw, and a perfect relic will have 340 plus some element or status I'm not even going to count since it's hard to factor in, which makes attack up (XL) a 7.8% boost for the craftable and 7.3% for the relic. In other words, WE is almost always the best attack skill (if you can hit weak spots consistently, which of course is rajang's whole body) except when Challenger+2 is. It's just even more broken in Generations, where it's a 12.5% boost with no other skills regardless of hitzone, 20% with crit boost, and at worst while still reaping the full benefits of the weapon (on a weapon that would otherwise have 50% affinity), 11.1% (yes, its ideal benefit in 4U) without crit boost and 16.6% with crit boost.
Rajang normally: Pretty hard fight but not too difficult with proper positioning. Rajang when you need to break his face 2 TIMES to get 1 HORN: The most annoying fucking fight in the game. Also I would have mentioned his little backhop in this. For such a small move its damage is insane and its why I stay to his side and not behind him.
hy, can you tell me what tour set is and wich talisman you use. cant seem to figure it out, i guess lodestar and silver los greaves but i m not certain.
How do you avoid his side hops? They keep fucking me when I've been valor dodging. I know someone is going to say just don't valor dodge and just take the "chip" damage. I rather have a reliable strategy of not getting hit
