One thing I love about these guides, is how there essentially a step by step going through everything, so no matter your level you might learn something from these guides .
Right after hop-dodging Volvidon's tongue and then toppled the oncoming rolling attack with pellet shot at 10:50 was amazing 👌!! I fought Volvidon in base Rise. He paralyzed me & proceeded to turn me into pancake with a jump crush 🥞😅Btw...i really love this banana armor! It's really cute! Great guide & hunt, Heddy!! Quality stuff
I'm glad you liked that 😊😊 When I was editing, watching that back felt pretty bad ass 😄 I wanna say Volvidon likes to punish the paralyze with the big jump, but I've definitely been chain paralyzed in rise 🤧🤧🤧 And yeah!! Ludroth armor is great 🙂 I wanna use more armor sets this time around for the p3rd series if only to show them off a bit 😄 Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for watching! 🙂
I always love how much time you spend just covering the monster's movesets. It's really the thing I wish guides bothered to do more often, and it's what got me to stick around watching your FU videos way back when. It's been interesting with the p3 guides because this is a game I actually have played through (i'm only 20 quests away from every checkmark!!!) because I still come away learning something I didn't know, or a way to understand a move that catches me out practice didn't teach me. :) That bounce hitbox sure is a thing, isn't it? Volvidon is one of my least favourite monsters with a melee but he's a fun gunning matchup up, and i'm so glad you showed people him with lbg!
Hey, I'm glad that you like it! 😄 It takes a bit of work and sometimes I miss things but I think it's important to go into, for sure 🙂 I've definitely got my own little style, which is partly what makes me want to keep making more, especially when people appreciate the work I've put in. 😊 Thanks for watching! 😃
The Volvidon armor in 3U is even better since it gives you not only evasion, but also attack up S (attack up M with decorations) and tremor resistance. It lasts until G rank.
Gunlance is also very good at countering the roll: the forward lunge lasts a long amount of frames and extends decently in front of you. But more importantly shelling is a quick, low commitment way of toppling him and since shell deal true damage, no need to worry about reaching the topple threshold in lower levels of sharpness (aside from red though if you reach red sharpness you might be doing something wrong). Long or Wide shelling is what I would recommend. Also GL can block the tremors if you dodge the jump early although fully tanking the recoil works as well since Volvidon stays stuck anyway and you'll miss maybe a poke or a shell if you fully block it since he'll go out of range the moment he gets back up.
Yo! True! I've been shown the light in late MHFU and I really like gunlance, yeah the forward poke might seem risky but I can imagine it'd be pretty reliable! 🙂 Great advice, thank you for sharing! 😄
Hey I'm glad you think so! 🙂 Thanks for watching, more to come soon 😊 they unfortunately take some time to finish, especially with balancing work and life and such lol
Yeah! It's really cool, we've got lagombi and volvidon as early game evasion sets. Evasion in MHFU was sort of hard to come by, but it seems more accessible here which is great! More people should try out the dodge roll playstyle 😌
😄😄 Yeah, the side and back hops are honestly really good. I think I'm getting a bit luckier but I'm not really trying to roll through the attacks. At least, I'm trying not to rely on them for the sake of the guide series 😅😅
Haha, yeah, there's a bit of a sweet spot for it. If you see the attack coming you should try and get close or far enough away first, then try to roll to the side if you're closer. The "T" part is really tricky! And getting pulled to the monster is crazy, it can set you up to be hit by a follow up if youre not careful >.
Not a bad idea! Knocking him out of the roll and then knocking him out for an even longer down time sounds like an awful time for Volvidon 😭😭 Not to mention the exhaust build up from the impact damage. Better traps and flash bombs. Poor guy 🤧
There's different buff categories, I haven't looked into p3rd just yet, I think, but basically the only things to worry about is power pills overwrite power seeds (the effect and the duration), power seeds and demon flutes also don't stack, and demon drugs and the felyne drink are the same buff, so you can't stack them.
You can play online using PPSSPP through hunsterverse, if you watch my p3rd streams I play with some viewers. Local between real PSPs probably works still, same with 3ds
I'd like to try it, hahaha, but I'm still finishing MHFU. I'm using your guide, LOL. Thanks for providing such an amazing guides for MHFU and MHP3rd! It's been incredibly helpful on my Hunting journey. Happy Hunting!
You should! 🙂 the ranged weapons are even better in 3rd gen than they were in 2nd, generally speaking. I'm really glad to hear you're using my guide series haha, I'm glad I could be a part of your journey!! 😊 Thanks for watching 😄
Pellets do not gather onto volvidon's head, unlike arzuros and lagombi. Most of the times you're better off shooting water bullets at his head or upper part of his body (with the head being more effective). The rolling hitzone change may justify the use of pellets tho. Pellet level 2 is most useful (hits the most times) when you're at about 1.5 roll distance away from the monster, unlike pellets in 5th gen. Also no artian mixed armor for rapid fire skill?
Do the key quests, you can follow along with my series if you'd like; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M-vtOknal_U.html Otherwise, do the quests listed here that are labeled "Key Quests" in blue on the right side; monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/MHP3:_Village_Quests#One_Star_Quests
If you're talking about it being smaller than normal, I'm playing the HD version of it, which was meant for PS3 but is playable on PPSSPP. A feature of that version is a smaller map.
